Hi, I'm an almost a year exp Grab Driver. my car insurance expired on 22nd Nov and my agent renewed and sent me the soft copy on 23rd, which I submitted through form created by Grab and was notified by Grab the documents received and stored.

And then right after I renew my car road tax, sent an email in regards of reactivation process duration. On the CS revert stated it may take up 1-5 working days to activate.

I checked the driver app, first a small pop up stated deactivated. The next day the same. Third day, which is on last Saturday, right at my face stated "not registered".

Now here's the thing, try not to get wrong impression here. I'm honest to work as I always been, no shortcuts no matter how tough the sh*t comes up on pick ups and drop offs. I earned ratings 4.9* above (never once said "please rate 5 star* before customer leaves the car, it's all based on how customers valued my efforts to fetch them to destination in safe, comfortable and pleasant journey.) and maintaining 100% acceptance (I don't turn down any of them even once I'd to travel 8km pick up point during Raya season unless my stupid 1.5GB RAM phone starts hiccups on heavy caches and desperate i/o bookings which caused the booking window disappear while ringtone still sing along then "lock" and "drop".) and 0% cancellation (saving for those bookings involve one way communication: Call, no service. Text, either app slow delivery or wasting cents to send SMS but no reply. Wait the most 5 minutes? So many people around the area and they wondered who the F I'm waiting for.) Just so you know, when you work till at the point considering a pioneer you should be at confidence to make sure things would go right at your side but seems the effect of support after reviewed such disappointing news on activation, how you want to feel confidence working in a company like this?

Remember, it's 1-5 "working" days. That's right, weekends aren't accounted for. I've been idling since last Thursday with no income. I might be an idiot waiting around to see the app activates itself but alas it doesn't, just to be sure how efficient the system Grab's working on. And alas it wasn't. And all these because we drivers aren't working from the inside, we don't know how busy and bad the situation is. Or perhaps too many cocky customers complaining on drivers and CS got them too much to handle until forgotten the front liners: Grab drivers. Sometimes I do think how the situation goes, can't afford myself to find out at the HQ and mostly truth cover-ups and waste of time, better drive and earn.

Now I can't drive, every penny I spent now have to reconsidered, I can work out things through email but last I received stated if my driver app hasn't been activated I can submit by hand at the HQ. Come on, are you kidding me? Anyone who's reading this, focus this point onwards and spread on quote if you have opinions:

They are ways that can tell between the privilege of customers and drivers. I'm sure customers app have more privileges, more options. I haven't used the user app before but I heard you can upload profile pic. Why our driver app can't see the profile pic, not to mention our own pic? That's one part of it I can come up with as an example. By all means, attentions are all diverted towards customers, F priority. Drivers as soldiers sent to death while new recruits inbound in 24. I mean seriously, no perks for existing "partner"? 1-5 working days, you're more to "noobs" than "experts"? Well then, perhaps HQ will have more customers issues rather us pioneers die trying to reduce them. Thinking out loud, good luck with the issues and I want my driver app activated at once!

'nuff said, clearly I rant and thrown tantrum much here. However an experience to share among the drivers out there. What I'm supposed to do today, I will go to HQ and submit the insurance cover note, and make sure the app activates on the day itself. Nothing will come across my mind dealing such delicate matter by online anymore.

Well, I somehow stated I wanna see how Grab CS dealing this matter. Is my first case of deactivation and "not registered".

I thought I want to but I'm giving chance to see the efficient of their system. A grand letdown.

Yes just went to the Kiosk, in a lot of people. So many of them talking about suspended. I brought soft-copy in pen drive and then my turn, asked me to print out. I'm not so fond of Jaya One so I walked a big F round until I found out B1 or B2 got a printing plus packaging shop. Printed and then went to queue again. The CS just look at the document and said will activate half An hour...

I mean, why I need to print out in the first place? Waste money and paper only. My pen drive only 500gb consists only documents, last time I do same thing on registration. Also, CS mentioned the online thingy an option only. Implement an option that delays activation? And also CS told me my documents that I've uploaded wasn't in their storage! How incompetent the system.

Anyways, said 30 mins nothing happened, still "not registered" pop-up.

Already 1 hour. Sure boh said and let be, not so assuring this kinda f2f support?

It really amateur to mislead people this way. Somehow thanks to this thread, like you and me, and the rest who suffered came here to find out how things works and won't get into potty issues. I clearly went to the kiosk empty handed as the world right now already into eco envi. I go shopping don't ask for plastic bag, just trolley out to the car and stuff the things at the boot. I tarpow drinks using this magnificent Century Bottle that fits perfectly into the cup holder in my Toyota Vios. Even food also, I tarpow at mixed rice with my special Tupperware from Mr DIY. Like aunty, so what? I tarpow with style, no carrying rubbish back to my house. Okay seems a bit derailed on what I should say.

I think no more online submission, so unreliable. Even from email stated support.my@grab.com they won't layan, use in app. That's how I upload the documents and it vaporized in thin air. A place to dispose data. Better F2F, straight at Kiosk, die die queue long line up, waste a day time than F 5 days.

Even now I pressed login, still "not registered". I'm back in KL, sleepless at night because of this. How? Should o go back there again and rant about this?

I didn't register Uber. Last time was thinking of having two apps working on both but my phone low RAM, not enough CC to push the apps. You know Samsung? Super high RAM consumption on contacts apps. I turned on driver app plus Waze, and background running phone. Once a few trips done, phone started bloating on RAM. Was planning to get a new phone but now seems my plan got delayed.

Yeah maybe I should. Gotta grind till get new phone then will do both. F grab already la, 2 hours still "not registered".

I was looking forward to get Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (about 1k or less depends where to get) I have my reasons to get a higher spec phone to manage some apps to run during online (anything can happen so I need the apps to help me out). There was a thread I came across stated you have to disable battery optimization on Waze and driver apps in order to keep them alive in background process. Hope you know what I'm talking about.

In my school/college days, not much I heard Chinese ppl talk in mandarin, all English like a trend. I'm Chinese educated but most of the time I speak English, to my sisters and friends. My parents only Hakka. So now I realized more and more mandarin speaking chineiese. And furthermore, uni and collecgy studs... English not polish and somehow I got myself speaking like them too, crooked my man... And to think how they managed to get high scores on oral tests... Are they for real? On second thought, it's the influence. a guy I knew live in Bandar Utama his whole life speak cranky English. I was fully astonished about it.

By the way, whenever I pick up studs, Malay, Chinese or Indians (mostly Indians speaks well in English), I speak English to them as though no other languages I could speak, as a force to learn in trial and error. I know my mandarin's not polished but somehow I'll get by...

What I've experience was Waze can do 3 trips in constants and after that the map directions (line) will break and the rest of the lines appear on after junction (sorry no screeny) and then once the app shows alien plus Egyptian characters on all texts, especially the speedo, runs like predator UI... LOOKS awesome but unfortunately I don't understand. Anyways can count after three trips, swipe it off and relaunch Waze, should be fine.

Just accept, you not asking for it. But humble reject and say "are you sure I should keep this?" I get a lot from Europeans and even foreigners who work here.. Tell you the truth. Most I get tips are from Bangladesh, Indonesian and Philippines. Good ah? Because they know what hard work is, they think you deserve it, they actually give more you can swallow. Gwailo always more than 10 so just be friendly and knowledgeable on things they prefer to listen. I did that, extra 20 no probs from them. Need to brush up some PR skills y'all

I was at KL golden triangle. Stuck in jam around 10pm to pick up at Dua Residency to 231 Condominium. Taking a detour around Stonor road since Waze directed me to use Kia Peng but road closure. A Dato driving Camry was slow on green lights while he reached junction already yellow, still brake even slow to turn. I was furious about the detour since wasted extra 5 mins I horned him kaw kaw. He feeling it in deep purposely slow down in front of me. Another junction to turn left he stayed right, I signalled and tried turning left, he quickly signalled and turned left in front of me and slowly driving along the small road. My heart really burning rage and he wanna play I'll play along, getting soooo close to his butt like was poke him and aggressively left and right. I guess most cars behind me felt the same shat. Until end of junction towards Jalan Tun Razak, I stopped far from him to observe how slow he's cutting out to the main road, leaving him to think the game still on. Some motorcyclists having tendencies to keep left on cars when turning left. So naturally when we drivers turning left, we had to look right oncoming vehicles before exit. That Dato probably screwed with full emotional provoke by me and still cursing in his heart, on second motorcyclist taking left, he exited at the same time and almost bang on the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist stopped and start staring each other with cursing eye contact. Motorcycle stopped the wife had to get off on pavement with squinting eyes staring at Dato too. I went near to Dato's butt hinting don't waste time, farking move along if nothing like shat on pants happened.

AND THAT MADE MY BURNING RAGE HEART WENT SOOTHING LIKE MINT IN AN INSTANT!

Sorry about that incident had to involve such almost unfortunate event for the motorcyclist but in case if you're fighting for a living in honest way, God has eyes on these actions. Rethink other people's time management on important matters. In due of heavy traffic congestion throughout busy time and areas, if you have no intention to linger around, get out from that area and don't get in the way when people need to hurry! (Speaking out loud for those who doesn't know)

Anyways, Dato or not, people take living in this era hard to make a living. Don't waste people's precious time if you are rich enough to stay at home sitting on OGAWA.

Actually I'm bit angry if got these kinda driver, it's the stupid detour of road closure at Kia Peng which divert all the front vehicles go into a building like a Hotel (I don't know and I don't care at the moment) and then ended up circulating around the open parking and come out again like idioticlits < (is this how you translate "Sorhaii"?) and that makes me in entirely top tier furious mode, plus road hogging LJ face in front of me. I really wanna smoke that LJ face with all the stones and dirt on the road but then, don't have to do anything... Kekeke
