only legit car weapon allowed, ie steering lock

just go buy same kinki cheapest steering lock china made one (yellow color most of it) rm1x only at mr.diy or any other place. the lock is no good for steering protection but good as armed force as it is light weight to carry to fight... if bough T-rex brand one, sure regret as it heavy but it serve purpose of better locking mechanism.

if that still not confident enought, get a wonderwomen shield (anti street riot shield lah) like this, portable one. since it is defensive not attacking, kena road block also no scared.






and don't be tempted to get these police expandable stick, really haram, if found in your car can lead u to station for further interogation, suspecting u a gang member...

should have tinted, it quite basic necessities now

jpj rule:
front main windscreen: min vlt 70%
driver row: min vlt 50%
rear passenger row: min vlt 30%
rear windscreen: min vlt 30%

with min vlt 30% most tint can pass easily, unless total full black. so no worried puspakom would peel off these area tint. and these at rear passenger side, should tint it now.

only concern us is main windscreen vlt 70% the hardest to pass, driver row min vlt 50% also can pass by selecting correct film now.

the new QR code tint policy MS2669 standard which going to enforced next year 2018 -
if you only pick tint shop who can provide QR code for their tint for full car tinting, the price sure surge quite a lot

so we feel the trick and solution is just get front main tint film changed by the time puspakom require annual inspection on grab/uber:
with qr code, puspakom was quoted "must" pass it regardless after tinting the vlt with windows together go below 70%, and they just check once on front qr code
so just go buy front main windsreen tint from qr code qualified tint shop
the rest just tint somewhere else

tinting - really got lots of story

basically we differentiate quality by:

a) country origin: USA still the best - many local shop get korea / china tint film then sell in their house name brand quote it USA tint film ...

b) material of tint: metal tinit film still the cheapest, but block/interfere wireless signal like gps, smart tag. nano ceramic is better material that no blocking, so some said gps no good/accurate actually not their phone + telco network that bad but could be due to using cheap metal tint film.

c) solar or security tint film: security 4mil to 6mil is enough, no need higher. afraid 6mil can jam the power window though. i use 4 mil only. security manage to endure couple of hits from outside like using helmet, but if consistently hit also will break one. to protect passenger especially handbag, better use security tint film.

so if USA + nano ceramic + security = quite good already

if go ask branded shop for these kind, sure over thousands.

i went tint at cheras shop, over 10 years shop, they got puspakom inspection gadget as well. mine film vlt 70% + all sides 50% nano ceramic security while in their promotion = rm900. (also saw they testing using puspakom gadget - put tint film vlt 70% the end result already vlt 64% as windows already block some. side windows all becomes 45% alike. no point, vlt 80% good film only some high end branded got, normal shop can't sell them as no ppl want)

so priced can range from RM1xx in fave/groupon website till few thousands also got like 3M, illumar, etc..

just matter now the QR tint film still not available now till end of this year , earliest would be mid of november

so tint passenger side first lah vlt 30% so easy to pass, driver if u want also can, pick film with vlt 55% above, 60% sure get it exceed min vlt 50%

it is actually no need buy china made one, nice photoshop but seeing and feeling the actual goods is different one

pvc, pu are quite hot absorbing material, our local made already dump these material long time ago. still got these stock but cheap enough, go check accessories shop u would know.

for existing fabric seats, just wrap with local made semi-leather seat cover, price ranging RM400-500 include labour fees. mudah give u the best bargain price for your car model. and just lap with water with towel no need and don't use any other cleaning material. our local semi-leather seat cover far better than china hot feeling pvc cover which might render u low star rating bcoz uncomfort seat.

normally the labour fees of RM80 is just wrap semi leather seat cover over existing fabric seat cover, no replacing. so this is better choice as additional protection layer and can throw away 4 , 5 years later change a new full set.

labour charge of RM150 or above might involve stictching semi leather seat cover to replace existing seat cover which i don't recommend unless for full private car use no change in short term again.

i use mudah to search as found those advertise on mudah still the cheapest. i did mine at the ampang hilir one.
normally semi leather seat price around RM300 + labour RM80 = around RM380. if pick design with lobang lobang one for better heat dissipation add rm50.

if direct walk in to any accessories shop ask sure no such price - remember one quote me 600-700 straight away some more it is PU material only keep saying no hot one under aircond, semi leather asking 800-1000, gila thinking i'm water fish swimming in

so must quote "i saw from mudah" or any online site and call first see got stock or not

one local famous semi leather cover brand is LEC, but lastly i didn't choose it bcoz it has no lobang lobang design one in its budget line.
i'm satisfied with the ampang hilir one - the semi leather seat cover made by one factory in old klang road factory, i selected lobang one so added rm50, better than flat surface. if want that shop phone number, i pm u then u can call over ask got your model or not.

grabcar plus category could be a double blade sword to grab company itself

doing biz can't just only cater business strategy/policy to look after biz needs but forgetting big boss - the authority

if more prefer grabcar plus makes grab economy drivers (national car) suffers, they would sooner lodge complain and even to spad complaining unfair FOREIGN COMPANY POLICY of DEMERITING NATIONAL CAR

while: economy VS premium , of course pick economy by middle class and the rest.

while economy VS plus VS premium, it would be more middle class and maybe others who just wanna try better if only travel one or two per week weekend shopping mall or so. Even at lunch time office workers just share a little higher cost of getting plus car go for lunch, 4 person can't share 20% more?

For regular daily worker may still select economy. But in the end still affecting economy (national car). Then national car driver end up mostly fetch foreign worker, or mapren, occassionally locals, it will be sure more story on fb group later...

haha, quite sure if some one write to spad complaining grab about this coming DEMERITING LOCAL CAR policy may cause a U-turn.

as this plus group not based on car segment as before, it based on people perception what class a car is. clearly it show national car are lowest grade car in the eye of Grab. sure got coffee/tea time with minister later. jeopardizing PM effort asking ppl get Iriz to do e-hailing.

grab coo is playing safe now - call it beta group first:

as if adverse outcome:

1) economy (national car): keep steady; plus: get less ping than before (as cannot get cross group ping)

result: plug class unhappy - unloyalty to grab, start uber


2) economy (national car): less (quality) ping; plus: get more

result: economy class unhappy - unloyalty to grab, start uber

* this would be disaster as biggest troop still national car drivers

that's logical, but this new group plus sit in between economy and premium exists based on 'emotional' demands: Grab sure said I heard you, don't mind 10-20% for more comfort ride... or got face in the name of toyota/honda... like that

need to check new group exact rate would know how much extend it would affect economy group, i bet no charge based on timing as in premium class.

after all, either one group would feel losing:

a) economy no affect, plus make noise (if they cannot accept booking of economy class anymore and less ping, wanna abolish this group)

b) economy affected make noise

uber would be happily seeing instability in enemy troops and grasp the opportunity

nope, dashcam's usb port for power up purpose only, not like digital camera or phone.

generally those dashcam still need take out memory card put in computer to read one are already old day dashcam technology.

nowadays good dashcam is come with wifi let users view video/picture over phone, only download important video clip and save it. no need keep taking out memory card.

for me, won't spend rm66 for that cam. my selection criteria of cam is using capacitor, not rechargeable lithium or whatever kind battery. and with Wifi mode.
