What do you mean by average? Cz i drove my friends old persona and that car consumes fuel like crazy.
How long do you have to wait for your car?
*
Heard owner who had both old and new persona,

They said the old Persona with 50L tank can travel the same distance in 1 tank compared with
the new one which have just 40L tank also travel the same distance.

The new one fuel consumption can get really bad if u drive aggressively,
however there is an eco light which can guide u to get good fuel consumption figure,
The problem is if u can resist the urge to drive economically or not hmm.gif
because the acceleration hardly felt in the cabin brows.gif

Anybody tried swapping the stock sized tyres from 185/55/R15 to 195/55/R15 before?

Does this void the warranty?
*
I did it, don't think will void as the change is small

Wow that's quite high for a 1.6 engine. Is it because of the torque respond of campro? I tot vvt shud lower down the available torque to lower rpm d.

T n H is about 1.5k rpm on that speed.
*
Probably campro is more efficient at higher RPM, the gear ratio wasn't that long... have to admit the engine is not as efficient as T & H

So at highway speed engine will roar abit

Considering vios is also b segment like persona and it has 4 speed AT can manage to have longer gear.
Price range is not an excuse to not to achieve at least the same quality, or else there is no reason to buy proton over import cars.

Other than that, having short gear ratio does affect the resulting nvh and fuel consumption.
*
Having longer gear ratio not necessarily resulting in lower fuel consumption, its more about how to balance the engine output with the ratio, but nvh definitely will be lower if ratio is longer.

However, longer gear ratio also result in poorer acceleration and power too which require frequent ratio shifting which might result in heating up the belt easily due to more frictions when shifting ratio frequently. However at highway speed the noise is ok I would say, unless you have decided to go much beyond the highway speed then that's different.

Lastly, fuel consumption and engine's capability is not this car's forte, I believe most who bought this car is for the safety feature and coupled with its affordability too.

Hi All,

Collected my new Persona Premium on last Saturday, and been ride 50KM.

Overall, the car is nice to ride and comfort, abit rattling sound from dashboard area sometimes, but found out after the car get warmer under sun, the sound seems not noticeable. Perhaps shrink and expand theory? haha...

One thing i found out is the reverse censor sound seems weak...need to listen quite carefully. If you parked your car near to those compressor room inside a mall, will have problem listen to the sound. Is it possible to make the beep sound louder?
*
rattling need send to SC or if u want DIY, mayb can get one of these

The reverse sensor sound was ok to me, u wind down windows when driving? hmm.gif However, beware of the sensor, it respond a bit slow thou...

A bit of rattling is no big deal if it's not too noticeable like the owner mentioned. Besides, some Bezza owners also complain of rattling after a short while so it's just an inherent problem with cheap, mass-produced cars.
*
Just ignore that, if u see through the Persona thread from V1, he will appear once a while to submit his homework by just to throw in some insult or mocking Persona cool2.gif

Map light? What is that? The lock/unlock button light here is referring to the orange light right?
*
Map light is referring to the one on the roof, u also can set it to light up when door is open/when u just entered the car.

Yeap, the lock/unlock button is the orange light beside the double signal

Those owner who drive MT, how you all feel? Actually i have test drive the manual Persona, maybe is new car, cant feel much on the power compare with my 1.6 MT Gen 2, and also cannot get use on the soft clutch.
*
The MT in Persona don't have those push back feel like we drove the other car before, but u do see the speed is picking up at the same pace.
So i would say the MT is very comfy and smooth instead of very aggressive push back feel, your passenger can barely feel you change gear or realizing u driving a MT because the engagement is so damn smooth compared to other MT

Power is there, just that you don't get the G-force because the car masked that feeling brows.gif

If you are the type who look for the G-Force... sorry lah, its more like made for comfy instead

Anyway, soft clutch an issue now? I thought soft clutch was good especially if u have to deal with traffic? hmm.gif By the way the throw is pretty short too compared to other MT car

Not to forget Proton recent gear box have slightly shorter 1-4 speed ratio which translates to better pickup, however 5th gear ratio is longer which cruise at about 103km/h at 3k rpm based on calculation, quite common for 5th gear.

Maybe also, if test drive unit then i will press harder...

My 1.6MT Gen 2 full tank 100% city drive about 320-350km, this new Persona should be more than this...
*
I'm not city drive, this Persona only have 40L tank as opposed to gen which is 10L more

My drive includes 30% city and 70% highway with eco light on most of the time, I can easily hit 15km/l and reaching 500km the fuel light just lit

U may appreciate the slightly shoter 1-4th gear where there is many slopes that u need 3rd gear to climb can be done with 4th with this Persona bruce.gif

You are probably just too used to your gen 2's clutch and power "feel". It just take time to get used to it.
Previously I drove a 16 year old Wira MT, and it took me a few days in order to get used to the new Persona MT.
*
Yea, its like a relationship of love and hate, love the smooth engagement and comfort, but a bit potong stim without the g-force, however passenger enjoice thumbup.gif
Its quite different compared to those older MT we drove before
