QUOTE(nymerine @ Sep 28 2017, 01:44 PM)
I hope someone can tell me the difference between Unifi Lite and 8Mbps Streamyx, other than speed difference.

I am already using 8Mbps (profile set to 10mbps) streamyx so there's little to no difference for me to upgrade to Unifi Lite in term of speed other than extra 5Mbps upload.

My real concern is, latency. I have confirmed with TM CS that my Unifi Lite will be Fiber to box but copper to house a.k.a VDSL2.
So if I did decide to upgrade, it will be only because of latency & routing reason. Otherwise I'll stay at where I am.
So is there any difference in term of latency/ping before and after you switched to Streamyx/Unifi Lite, since both are using copper? Hope anyone read and can respond to my very specific question biggrin.gif
*
huge different lor.. mine using 8mb switch to lite 10mb, before ping above 50ms, after upgrade to lite only 30ms+
if u under FTTH, the ping should same as unifi advance / pro, below 10ms only with unifi lite

Nope.. my place isnt covered by FTTH, only copper.
I was expecting to get similar ping like fiber but I guess thats not happening yeah? I'll keep Streamyx for now I guess, hopefully my place will get Fiber soon, already seeing fiber being deployed around the town, might take awhile to come to my housing area.
*
mine also FTTC not FTTH... no regret changing from 8mb to 10mb VDSL.. huge difference bro.

I didnt have any xxx@iptv username , only have xxx@tvos.

I tried log in the happy everywhere with the one xxx@tvos but seem like failed.

I create a new account and log in, but only can watch normal tv.

My Unifi lite chosen Ruby package. But too bad i cannot log in using that account. May be i will call TM to check it out.

Thank you bro.

oh well, TM has replied to me that they have no plan to upgrade their cabinet that supports more than 8mbps as long the hardware is working and users enjoying the current speed without any interuption. The adjacent kampung left and right to my place surprisingly supporting unfilite due to newly installed cabinet.
*
this is so sad.. i feel u bro.. that time feel like want to bomb current infra hope they will replace newer tech sweat.gif

Are you sure your area are considered as ‘kampung’?
KSB got unifi ftth already when I checked your exchange at their network geomatics site. Or maybe this is for town area only? Perhaps your area falls under HSBB2 project? They will put unifi fiber terus instead of vdsl cabinet.. maybe... hmm.gif

[attachmentid=9221782]
*
can you check my area will support FTTH or not.. im still prefer unifi adv/pro than lite sad.gif

Sabar bang, they're doing the best infra they could provide right now. Many legal issues to lay a cable into certain district.
*
still bulls*** my area covered with FTTC not FTTH, its a matter of time to change it to fully FTTH, but the TM SME manager in my province already said, no budget from ***** unless they win the next election or before that, thru the campaign.

now is already rm129 right? going to give further discount?

like that what's the point of using vip 10? doh.gif
*
lite vs vip 10,
vip 10 is 2~2.5x better,

symmetric vs asymmetric
10mb DL and upload vs 10mb DL 5mb up.

if contract ended, just termiante, and register unifi RM 129 in your new home
*
its not recommended to terminate first. better sign up new , after every installation finish, the day after can go terminate old one, avoid no available port.

I don't think so it's free.
Should be got charge activation fee and installation fees. Unless you apply new applications.

Better try to walk in tm point for their advice or call tm first.
*
let me clear this out,

relocation is no fee or another charge (unless need new cabling or wiring)
apply new application of course will got installation charge + 1 month advance bill.

Oh, I see.
In simple, relocate your Unifi no charges for that unless need new cabling got charges.

But Streamyx relocate charge as Activation fee (RM50 one time per relocate) plus new cabling another charges.

Am I right for their product and services?
*
haha it's depend bro.. im having this exp relocated my streamyx/unifi more than 6 times from 2010-2017, the procedure still the same. the activation fee is for new acc only. relocation still the same acc.

You sure activation fee for new acc? I have previously relocate to another taman residential area. The TM point say to me got activation charge RM50 (Bt did not inform me exclude GST).

I have filling all the bill statement detail to keep for record purposes.

[attachmentid=9240875]

Is it means I kena tipu again? Really speechless this unethic business.
*
you need to clarify with them during fill in the relocation form at tm point. so far for me no charge for activation. we are existing customer. why need to charge ?
