"We are pleased"

Pakiu TM! Basically you're charged the same no matter you keep or terminate the line until finish contract.

With such terms, nobody will dare to renew their contract with TM.
*
TM may come up with the pricing scheme similar to Singtel.
Different pricing for 12 month, 24 months, 36 months or 48 months. The longer the cheaper.
So we buy/re-contract package, eg RM149X12, RM129X24 or RM99X36.
IF remain 12-month penalty, someone may take advantage.

If they came out with such package then have reason for the changes in penalty. But for now it seems they want to maximise their profits at the expense of consumers. With such terms, whenever consumer sign a contract with them, tm are guaranteed to get total amount for the contract duration, if consumer want to terminate tm will still get the full amount but without providing any service. tm shareholders will be very pleased thumbup.gif

Does Singtel also have same terms for terminating contract?

Please read the Singtel Fibre Broadband Terms and Conditions (pdf file)

Minimum Subscription Period / Early Termination Charges
11. The Minimum Subscription Period of each of the Services under this Agreement is as set out above.
12. Customers on Fibre plans with premium top-up are not allowed to make any changes to the premium
after sign-up.
13. To terminate or change your Service, please call the Customer Service Hotline at 1688.
14. Termination of individual services within the Singtel Fibre Bundle is not allowed. Termination of one or
more of the services shall be deemed as termination of the entire Singtel Fibre Bundle.
15. In the event that this Agreement is terminated for any reason within the Minimum Subscription
Period, an Early Termination Charge is applicable.
16. The Early Termination Charge is calculated by the following formula: Monthly Fee x Remaining
Months of the Minimum Subscription Period (including the month in which termination occurs) = Early
Termination Charge.
17. On termination of the Agreement, the customer shall immediately pay all outstanding fees or charges.

Went to TM Point and also called the cs as well. Actually my area is covered by SUBB but not my house as the last pole that supports it is about less than 200m from my house. Each time I sent the intentional form, 2-3 days later marketing ppl called me and told me that my house is not covered but they suggest me to take unifi mobile, last time webe. Last time I said to them of they want to promote to me their mobile service, just no need to call me again.
*
It will be solved by Unifi Magic Box, wireless at last mile, but fixed at your premise. Min 10Mbps.

So TM forced RM129 users to pay RM199 next month?
I heard all users will be upgraded to Unifi Turbo at priced RM199.

What gives?
*
Free upgrade (2019) for existing Unifi Lite customers (RM129) to >20Mbps.
Check the status after 15/7/2018.

They don't qualify to pay tax.
But you can claim up to 28% under lifestyle tax (Internet) relief.

Hopefully we UniFI lite user can get above 30mbps. Now that they plan to introduce 30mbps below RM100, it would be odd if we get only 20mbps at RM129.
*
Unifi B40 is Internet-only, no HyppTV. Only for the poorest 40% households. Just like Streamyx 1Mbps@RM68, 4Mbps@RM88 a few years ago.
So most likely the rest paying RM129 for 30Mbps (free upgrade from Lite) with HyppTV (not sure with TV box?)

anyone from unifi lite manage to be boost to 100mbps?
*
Mostly Jan-Jun19.
Very few allocated Aug-Dec18.
TM are working on 30-100Mbps users first.
If you now get 100Mbps at RM129 or less, sure those 30-100Mbps users will complain.

but is that downgrade still entitle for TURBO?

Next year TM should have a cheaper Turbo package, otherwise 30-50Mbps users (2019) will make noise.

Nice, did they accept JUMPSHIP from TM Unifi? Will Maxis compensation like TIME did?
If yes, any Maxis agents can PM or whatsapp me 0137000965, thanks.
*
No need to jump ship lah. Pay RM200 to downgrade.
I believe Unifi will come out with a similar package soon.
It should be the final package for those will not be upgraded to 100Mbps.

*
Maxis can't take order and installation before 13/9, right?
TM has 3 weeks to plan, maybe the new package yet to be approved by Gobind.
Maybe TM will give up low-end users as TM will get most of Maxis FTTH's revenue by leasing the ports.

Hmm, TM said in the email that I will get the upgrade to 100MBps in August 15. But until today still remain 10MBps. Any idea when we will get the upgrade?
*
10Mbps users, mostly in Jan-Jun 2019.
The email never told you the upgrade would be carried out on 15/8/2018, but "Speed upgrades will roll out in phases
starting from 15th August 2018".
