see he still is, no one really looks at makelele.

you look at the french team last time you see zizou. but not another great mf that invented the DMF and is the best DMF still in the world. for someone who made up his own position and made all the clubs in the world somehow want that kind of MF he deserves to be up there with the zizous, the ronaldos, the mullers...one of the best of all time.

but no, he aint......no one really gives makelele credit. without makelele real wont have taht much success, as seen how much it hurt real after losing him. without makelele chelsea would never get back to back. without makelele i doubt france can get the WC. its because makelele is soo good at being a defensive cover that people like zizou can go run wild, or lampard can stroll in to penalty boxes and shoot goals.

a lot of people, footballing and non footballing....never see makelele. untill he aint there, which was the mistake real made. makelele doesnt look liek he's doing much on the field so they sold him and what a rude shock they got. makelele also doesnt have much personal awards, he doesnt directly inspire the whole team.

we all know makelele is super, but still none of us is goina pop up one day and say "damn there goes another great" when he retires. also no one can really pin point makeleles performance, he just disappears in a team and we take him for granted.
but once you see makelele not there, people like zizou and lamps drop severly in performance.

he was pretty young for a keeper before mourinho grab him, i think not considered as underrated

totti and maldini underrated??!!! They are both legend in thier respective club and also key players in Italian NT (when playing) ... and you call that underrated? You might as well call all non EPL players that are good underrated in that case

guti is a great player...
but didnt turn up into spain national team...
mayb there are some arguements between him and aragones lehh !!!

Guti is a very inconsistent player. Besides when u have the likes of Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Cesc and Iniesta there's no place for Guti really..
