Hello bikers wherever you are in Malaysia.

Please share motorcycle parking facilities information in buildings, shopping complexes, public places etc

give comments, price of tickets, entry points etc. TQ biggrin.gif

Msia have a fair amount of motorcyclist, the government wants to have less car going into the city center

but i find that in most buildings/public places, motorcycle parking is still lacking, difficult to locate, not enough parking

space, parking location is too far away etc.

We will compile a list of places with the parking charges, and some direction or guidance. biggrin.gif

Mid Valley Megamall -

one of the most successful mall in KL, have parked my bike there since day one, until today, the bike parking is still like @^%$#&*(*& . The mall never appreciate motorcyclist as customers..

Great Eastern Building - Jln Ampang.

Paid the parking fee only to find that it is full to the brim.
Price - forgotten.

Lowyat Plaza

One of the FOC parking for motor in BB area.
Go down one level, parking space is still ok.

Some places have very good bike parking facilities, like AEON Rawang.

Others, like MidValley Megamall, have shit parking for bikes - they hide it in some dingy basement dungeon somewhere.

The bad attitude towards bike parking among building mgmt may be in response to the bad attitude among bikers. Everybody knows most kapcai riders don't give a flying f**k about traffic laws, much less parking rules so they dump their bikes anywhere they damn please.

If the kapcai ppl themselves don't care, why should the building mgmt care? So it becomes a vicious circle.

The other thing I want to bring up is the fact that... due to god knows what reason, people who design bike facilities (jalan motor, parking etc) think we're all still riding Honda C50s.

If property owners, developers, gov, provide enough space for kapchais to park, the riders will used it,

i have been to taiwan several times, they have tons of scooters everywhere, they design bike parking space

right there on the sidewalk without blocking pedestrians walkways.

Here in msia, even the wheelchair user oso susah wana move on sidewalks.. lagi mau kasi lu bike park... biggrin.gif

IOI Mall Puchong is terrible. Parking is RM1 I think but the lots are terribly narrow. Even for kapchais it is a tight squeeze.

Mines is another nightmare. The lots are narrow as well as the entry point. Not sure the parking fee though.

I saw a lot of bikes parked on the stone pavement near the traffic light. However, I have not noticed bike parking bays at KL Sentral.

ioi putrajaya got 2 parking space, 1 in basement and another infront of shop facing highway. the later 1 bike must be above 500cc

Anyone can comment on bike parking for Sunway Pyramid? Where is the bike park entrance and are the parking lots wide enough for bigger bikes? What's the parking fee like?

Midvalley Ok, just my bike can't really fit in when tried to go in and out the paybooth... but for small capacity bike should not be an issue.

Update.. If you want to go KL Sentral, you can actually parked inside Hilton premier parking, if you can squeeze your bike between the parking portal, then there's a bike parking on your left, in front of Hilton security office. Just park ur bike there, then filled up the "guest" book ledger by the wall (slightly inwards) pretend you go to either le meridien or hilton, then you can park all day there.

Protected from the rain, and observed by the security of Hilton hehehe....

For Publika, do you know the entrance from the other side? From the old SapuraKencana building. Go in, the road splits to 2 (turn left to stay in the same level, go right to go down to B7). Keep left past the lobby area. Its a covered bike park, for free. You enter the building lobby then its connected to publika.

Midvalley actually have a secret FOC motorcycle parking. Use laluan motor alongside Federal heading to KL. Where it says "Laluan Ditutup", just proceed though the barrier and you'll arrive at 2 designated parking for motor and 1 for bicycle just behind the KTM.

First: No, that couldnt possibly be a designated bike lane as they built motorcycle parking, complete with sign. And they built a second motorcycle area there this year. And no its not just for KTM Staff. They can spend money to build sign that says its a motorcycle parking but not enough money to say its for staff? Are you high?

And the parking is also accessible from the other end. I have no idea why they block it from Federal side.

Second: If you ride motor, most likely the amount you're carrying is minimal. And for god sake jalan from Midvalley to the station also far? No wonder Malaysia is having the highest obese rate in SEA.

the motorbike lane existed for ages before dbkl designate the motorbike lane to be bicycle lane frm the bike roundabout , they even put the no entry sign for motorbike in the first place and built barriers. tht was the beginning, now im not sure, cos as usual there is lack of enforcement. i will try find pics of it frm cyclist like ahpek biker etc.

yes, most msian r damn lazy to walk. tht is a fact.
and the distance from the parking to mv compared to mv underground mbike park to mv is far. tht is also a fact.

and last. dont assume mbike riders carry minimal things.

the second picture. go in, turn left inside and soon you will find a motorcycle parking area (even before the parking ticket barriers).
It is the same level as the lobby. Dont need to take lift, etc

QUOTE(emino @ Dec 12 2017, 02:18 PM)

QUOTE(basilisk @ Dec 12 2017, 02:42 PM)
the motorbike lane existed for ages before dbkl designate the motorbike lane to be bicycle lane frm the bike roundabout , they even put the no entry sign for motorbike in the first place and built barriers. tht was the beginning, now im not sure, cos as usual there is lack of enforcement. i will try find pics of it frm cyclist like ahpek biker etc.

yes, most msian r damn lazy to walk. tht is a fact.
and the distance from the parking to mv compared to mv underground mbike park to mv is far. tht is also a fact.

and last. dont assume mbike riders carry minimal things.

They constructed the barrier yes. But its funny soon after they develop dedicated parking spot for motor inside. And not so long after that they develop a SECOND parking spot for motor inside as well.

For me that's not a far walk lah. About the same as walking to the paid parking if you ask me, as you simply exit the way people exit to komuter.

And as a biker of more than 15 years I am aware people do grocery shopping using bikes. But usually they do so at places that's more convenient other than MidValley lah.

This bike parking section can be pretty packed if it's the one just after the green wall (plants) entrance at G1 just before the car ticket boom gate. I've even seen bikes double park there to the max on occasions, and definitely not for superbikes, way too tight.

yes i agree.

as this is the only "secret" ( means no signage, guard wont tell you ) FOC covered bike parking @ solaris dutamas,

most of the regular workers there will park n double park there.

On workdays it will be full to the brim before working hours starts? and ppl will double park there.
as they only need to exit after working hours, or later.

Not recommended for visitors, as risk kena blocked by bikes, difficult to exit cos very pack.

go further up instead of going into the car park theres an exit to the right. Basically a big round.

Big bikes its normal for us to park up the ramp (not in the painted parking slots), unlikely to be double parked.

Agree. MV thinks motorcyclist are nobody. I took 3 rounds to be able to find the entrance to the Moto parking. Riding into the Moto parking area is a challenge, the path is full of puddle of water....garbage water ? Then the stair way into the shops is so dirty.

Lucky that they have designated area for big bikes... Else I wouldn't able to park my bike inside as my bike have longer wheelbase than usual bikes.

Yeah, that's the very definitions of a sucker if you ask me.

Everyone can afford motorcycle parking. But whether its worth the amount, its another story.
Especially if there many other places out there that provides better, quality parking at free of charge, or at least worth the amount.

By paying for something you yourself consider shitty and filled with garbage water, you're actually condoning the practice.

This is the previously mentioned Motorcycle Parking next to KTM Commuter Mid Valley Station.

You can park here and walk to mid valley. Did not notice any lighting, so it could be dark at night.
Kinda secluded and low traffic.

Initially, DBKL starts the Bicycle lane at this point.

No entry sign for motorcycle and barriers are erected.

user posted image

Then DBKL realised that motorbike need to exit into Jalan Syed Putra as well,

so they push back the starting point. And some barriers are removed.

user posted image

Now Bicycle lane starts here.

user posted image

Motorbike exits here, near volvo.

Yes, If I am not mistaken park next to the building is 50 cent.
But better to park indoor, at the Gurney underground carpark. The entrance is facing the sea, same with the car entrance. Its also 50cent as well. Attached Image

There is a small mamak stall at the entrance of Rm1.2 parking.. perhaps they can have a cup of teh tarik 1st? laugh.gif
Probably some of the biker prefer to store their helmet there, or they might think its safer as there are always someone watching over their bike & helmets?

The underground carpark seldom have security pass by, so chances of missing your helmet should be high. Mostly just kapcai with affordable helmet park over there.

Manage to drop by and check it out.

Didnt go down to look at the parking, next time.

Nu Sentral Motorcycle parking. Underground basement parking.

Entrance is @ Jalan Tun Sambanthan, no signage at all.

Just After Aloft, there is a outlet with NO ENTRY sign. It is an exit for cars parked @ basement of Nu Sentral.

Turn left and go in, the bike parking is on the RIGHT side.

Lookout for cars exiting.

Hello, anyone knows about the IOI citymall putrajaya >500cc bike parking just in front of the shopping mall entrence?

Signboard says motorcycle parking is available there, but the only 2 boomgate/entrence is just for cars - there is no smaller boomgate for >500cc bikes? Or do i have to act like a car/pay same price like a car to park the premium parking?

Motorcycle parking near the LRT there. When near the mall, keep left, and then turn left when reaching the LRT. You will immediately be at a roundabout. You will see the entrance of motorcycle parking next to the boom gate for cars exiting. Flat rate price. A lot of motorcycles, so have to go early to get a place. If not, park near the shops before the mall, but there also a lot of motorcycles.

I went to UTC Pudu last friday and was shocked when the autopay machine says rm5 as I put my ticket in. Luckily, I had experience working with parking equipment and systems so I went to check at manual pay counter. Managed to dispute the price because its written on the board next to the counter that its only rm2 per entry for bikes.

Surprisingly the parking management actually knew this but failed to put up any notice or inform the customers in any way.

So if you guys went there please check if the parking fees adds up to their written price.

Yes the parking can fit big bike, there's quite a few big bikes there. Rate is RM1 per day, if you park overnight, the next day it just adds another RM1. Problem though is it gets very full very fast. You'll want to be at the parking before 915 am to get a spot.

just want to share with you (again) in case I forgot, for those who want to park near KLCC area, you can use the bike parking at tower3 basement parking.. the entrance from Jalan P. Ramlee .. (Where all the night club are) and there is a ramp going down to the basement just at the junction of Menara TA and if turning right you headed towards Aston/Hilton hotel.

You can park next to BMW or Ducati parked there, in case worried about your brake caliper safety..

Fee is 2 Rm whole day.. (don't loose your ticket) and paid at the machine near the KLCC LG floor mall.. (near the Nyonya Colors)

For those who want to go Bangsar Shopping Center, can park at Menara BRDB (Just taller office building next door)

Go towards the back of the building (through their lobby) and there's a sign of Car Park entry.. go in there.. just right after the entrance (before the Car Park Barrier gate) .. to the left is big bike parking and to the right is small bike parking..

There's one basement parking. You're almost there. From here, straight ahead on your left, there is an entrance for loading bay. Its a blind spot from google map.
RM1 per entrance, sometimes free depending if the autopay broke down or not. If it did they just let it open.

Capsquare ada paid motorcycle parking lah, under Menara Multi Purpose. RM1 per day. You enter from the side yang banyak warung and roadside hawkers tu. Near the free outdoor motorcycle parking.

Menara UOA dont hv bike parking? i think so.. maybe u can park at dataran maybank and walk over, better than risking DBKL saman...

Effective way to reduce traffic is to ride a motorbike..

sadly this country.. doesn't favour or encourage motorcyclist..

And summore wana make another national car... doh.gif

Built more highways,,, sell more cars....

How about mid valley?

Though the motor parking has reserve lots for big bikes, but it's almost impossible for me to ride in and make turns inside that area. Too tight when the parking is full of bikes

Anywhere else big bikes can park?

Here's a tip. Always park your bike where there are plenty of foot traffic. The presence of people tend to drive the thieves away.

The downside to this especially if you're riding a big bike, people tend to take it unto themselves to pose and mount your bike for pics as well for shits and giggles.

Anyone know if nearby TTDI MRT got decent parking for motorbike? Would prefer nearby MRT station then jz walk to ride MRT to work, but this station does not have park and ride. I know next door menara glomac has underground parking for cars. But not sure if theres any for bike.

scott garden is like dead now aft tesco moved out.

ive parked there since early tesco days, n now wit decathlon + mr diy moved back there.

so i only know tht level where decaton + mrdiy is. maybe other level also can park bike.

frm okr heading to mid valley, scott gar on ur left jz aft the npe overhead, u turn left, go up the slope. u will see entrance for car on ur right, pass that, n right aft tht u will see a smaller entrance with no barrier, ur bike can go in there.
once inside go straight one level down, turn left go straight, u will see entrance on ur left, tht is the level where tesco used to be, behind the rows of cars, u can park ur bike there.

UOA Bangsar has parking inside building but use season parking. I dont think you can get the season parking anymore. There is not many dedicated motorcycle parking since the Etiqa Tower built. Btw is you still insist to park inside, I suggest you to park att the Dataran Maybank. I am not sure about the price.

Yeah. And I think it is safe (if you park near the guards, they are usually near the entrance and exit). There are parks near the staircase, but, not so many bikes park there.

Yes, this is the entrance to the IKEA bike parking. You need to pass the boom gate then turn right to the motorcycle parking bays.

Hi all, I want to know for Midvalley motor parking how do we apply for monthly pass / season parking underneath the mall. Tried searching online, could not find any official links. I do see some bikers tag their cards on the card reader. Anyone has info that will be great. Thanks.

U can ask the booth where u pay the ticket.

If u park on south end.. U can ask the place where there is a room for ppl to keep their helmets. They will guide u on where to go

Overnite at street parking a no no. Garage parking be it hotel or mall they have security guards but those guards may have their rounds and there's always disclaimer park at your own risk. Can try empire subang tho

yeah... when u enter there, the first one u see is the south one...

depends on luck... ive arrived there at 830am before and theres enough space... but another day at same time can have a long que to go in. if ur on a kapchai, not much of a problem as u can move other kapchais around to make space to park ur bike. if ur on a big bike which doesnt have double stand, then might be tough... coz even FZ (those with double stand) will park at the big bike parking area.

north parking is the same entrance as the google pic u posted.. but instead of going into the first parking u see... just keep going and pass by the south parking... just keep following the path there and u will reach it.

I see, noted with many thanks! I saw some videos on YT, sometimes can see big bike parked right at the parking entrance and was wondering just how safe is it to do that. Also, do the parking directly connects to the mall or you need to walk out?

This talking about the MV bike parking when you go up the ladder end up in front of Maybank/Pondok Police right?

Parked there before on the Big Bike section with my RT.. its almost the width of Kancil, a bit struggle when you pay parking due to small entrance and immediate turning into the big bike section but manageable if you know how...

What you need to do since you going to park there daily, increase the security of ur bike by upgrading your brake/master caliper with security bolt and nuts.. since its the easiest to steal instead the whole bike..

This is a bit off-topic, but since it is somewhat related to public motorcycle parking in Malaysia, I have to wonder...these thieves usually only go for certain types of caliper and master cylinder, right?

Based on theft cases, there should be some 250cc and above bikes they won't even bother looking at, like the CMC classic style bikes, the Z250SL, and the Benelli Leoncino.

Don't forget BYBRE. The caliper theft cases among KTM, Pulsar and Dominar owners is crazy.

However, I figure there has to be some factors considered by the thieves. I don't think even a person with addiction to theft will just go stealing ANY Nissin caliper because they're very common on many bikes, and there's no thrill in that. The target must be worth something, like 4-piston radial-mounted Nissin calipers, which are uncommon and high-end.

That's why I mentioned the bikes in my previous post, because those bikes don't have calipers with obvious branding and/or are high performance. If they're not desirable by this crowd, they should be relatively safe to park nearly anywhere, like the Honda PCX.

Radial mounted was an example, not literally all that they would target. MT07, Versys, ER6F/N all have dual front discs, which many of these crowd like to mod onto their kapchais. The Vulcan S is the only outlier there because it has a relatively unimpressive brake system. Generally there is always a reason.

On the other hand, are there many cases for R25, Z250, Ninja 250, etc.?

Also, please don't misunderstand. I'm not trying to say people shouldn't be careful and not take security measures, but that there is still a scale that exists for desirability of these calipers. Otherwise, we wouldn't have such things as 'motor sejuk' and 'motor panas'. Kapchai are also equally vulnerable to theft depending on the model, after all, like the Y15ZR V2 head thefts recently.

well logically anything bigger than Kapchai has better braking system if their brake caliper applied to a kapchai?

or perhaps I am wrong? off course the Brembo or Nissin is with gold shining is the primary target, but then if they have opportunity and potential victim why not?

Saw few abandoned bikes on the road and it ranges from Jaguh until RGSports - Mostly kapchai, and guess what, many of them have front brake disc and caliper... (saves the drum brake ex5, but they also missing front rim and such..

The point is, no matter what, better safe than sorry... invest a bit for extra protection wont do no harm.

Because I don't think it's as simple as bigger bikes = better brakes than kapchai = all equally prized. Otherwise the caliper theft cases would be far more widespread. Imagine, all those Chinese and Taiwanese big bikes and maxiscooters would have their unbranded calipers being stolen en-masse too. Instead, we only get cases of specific brands being targeted, other than the abandoned bikes you mentioned which are basically free pickings.

There's performance, but image and trendiness has something to do with it as well. Having something branded like Brembo, Nissin, etc. on your bike gives street cred among peers. Getting a double front disc brake setup on a kapchai is also increased street cred. Radial calipers? Street cred. All of these things factor into why these thefts occur.

Hopefully everyone understands what I'm trying to say here. notworthy.gif

I don't disagree, as I mentioned in my post above. If you ask me, I think the minimum every big biker should invest in is a good alarm brake disc lock.

Anyone engraving his bike plate number on his brake calipers? I remember those days people sand blasting plate number on windscreen and side glasses to deter car thief.

Right now Veison and Kovix seem to be popular, but Kovix is more expensive. Xena was one of the biggest last time but they seem to have closed shop.

If to deter caliper theft while parking, get one alarm disc lock for each disc brake along with reminder cables so you don't forget to take them off before you ride.

You can also enhance the security by throwing in one of those RM20 alarms on your bike. Not the type that needs to be connected to the bike battery, but the ones powered by 9V cell or AAA batteries that come with a remote.

Menara Allianz? At 1U? hmm.gif

Anyway, there's also another motorcycle parking bay (open area with small roof) at the new wing side (Dataran car park).
Refer to the map.

Dont go into JaYa one unless you ride Kapchai.. the parking designed in a way by people who think bike can navigate in a staircase...

Got my friend stuck there with a BMW bike..

If you want, park at Gasket Alley opposite..

Better Don't,

Got one case GTR 1400 Kawasaki stripped down the brake caliper and master cylinder while parked there overnight.. And the best part is.. when the thief knew it using special nut on the master cylinder, they took the entire handle bar out from the bike..

Smart bastards...

Pay at entrance with RM1 notes, should be about RM4-6 can't remember exactly, entrance is from the left side of the building, turn in directly to the first carpark entrance and you should see the motorbike barrier next to the car barrier

not quite sure about other parking spot besides klcc but if you must park at klcc i suggest to park near the place where security always sits. they roam around a lot but they usually sit near the exit.

Anyone know where to park at KL sentral area that has rooftop or within the building? And it's per entry car park that allow the bike to park for days or weeks.
Planning to park my bike at a safe n sound place at KL sentral area when going for outstation.

I know there is an open car park per entry RM2, but there's no sunroof, hoping someone can tell me pls !

Just to share in case anyone is curious. The Linc KL has free motorcycle parking - accessible at the car entrance, there is a lane for bikes that you can ride through without having to go through the barriers.

Pros:
+ Free (as mentioned)
+ Covered

Cons:
- Limited motorcycle bays
- Parking bays hidden behind car bays which makes it hard to get in and out if the car park is full
- Lots of motorcycle parking there so you have to get creative to get your bike parked or muscle your way and move the parked bikes
- The more open motorcycle bays are not covered but can only accomodate 10 bikes 🤦‍♂️

Update on this, manage to clear up some time to go and ride around the area. the parking area for bike is at B2 the same as car park. Parking is free and for every tower there it have it's own designated motorcycle parking area.

Cons is that the parking area is damn hot without any ventilation whatsoever. few minutes there and i'm already sweating.

If you coming from DUKE, take the left EXIT 2302 towards lebuhraya LDP and take left turn near BMW, Proton showroom there and continue straight follow the course of the road and you'll see empire city signboard.

after reaching Empire City, go down the right small road EXIT TO LDP and you'll see B2 parking there.

You can park at 163 Retail Park which is next to the Plaza Mont Kiara. The entrance is quite tricky. If you are driving car and entering the car park, the motorcycle entrance is just opposite. If you are riding a big bike, you may need make a sharp u-turn to enter. BMW with panniers will have problem to enter. And it is cashless parking.

I tried parking at midvalley bike parking before. At one time I was "stuck". Couldn't maneuver out as I have two side boxes.

So whenever I go to MV, I will just park outside of the bike parking, right before the palang. and give the jaga a few ringgit.

I almost got stuck in one utama before at the new wing bike parking. Had to gostan all the way out.

Believe you, one time managed to squeeze my BMW RT with 2 panniers in the basement parking after moving a few other kapchais.. lesson learned never bring the big bike into mall parking

Or if you must in Midvalley.. find the Midvalley Pondok polis (next to Maybank), in front got a bikes parking covered with plant pots and a chain at the entrance.. you can enter there to park your bike for a while ..

That's true

But that's where I keep my laptop bag even I ride to work.
Or when I go jalan jalan have things to buy or light groceries. The side boxes are very useful.

The basement for Hyatt are usually reserved for staff working with the hotel or menara darussalam. But you can park for free just outside of the entrance to the basement parking for free but it is exposed to the elements. Same goes for Impiana across the street.

No exact / proper motorcycle parking in that building, but there is one in a building near the plaza (use Jalan Perak).
Otherwise can park in Pavilion (RM2) and 5-10 mins covered walk to EQ Plaza.

Hi All, just sharing if you are riding to EQ Plaza. You can go to Bank Islam, right behind EQ plaza for motorcycle parking. RM 2 then 2 minutes walk to EQ Plaza.

Hi Riders,

Just checking if any of you parked at Menara CIMB beside EQ Plaza before?

The motorcycle at Menara Bank Islam if after 9am sudah penuh .. Nak parking luar takut kena saman atau DBKL angkut motor ..

Anyone knows if the sheltered walkways @ SS15 lrt (or any lrt station with similar setup) is safe to park at during daytime?

Will get into problem with local council?

Will need to visit Midvalley quite often soon and I know the motorcycle parking there is shit, so I am exploring park and ride options at the moment.

Why is midvalley bike parking bad? Parked there a few times. got gate and parking attendant. Parked there overnight before.

Finding the entrance is not easy if you havn't been there before. the entry point is not well marked. Its just below cititel hotel.

Just from what I've seen on YouTube, it looks worn down and cramped, not sure if it's any different these days. I normally avoid parking my bike among sea of kapchais, because kapchai riders don't give a shit about other bikes, I got a couple of paint chips on my bike last time I parked at another mall's parking, and mirrors often being out of position since people squeeze past bikes to reach their bike.

Not trying to be snobbish here but also the demographics of the riders matter a lot, if you park in a parking filled with educated office workers it's most likely better than a large mall where the visitors are of mixed profiles.

In fact in this thread itself Midvalley hasn't got the best of reviews:

its been quite a few years since i parked in MV... but back then they do have 2 motorcycle parking areas...1 on each end... when u come in....skip the first one... that one is super cramped and super full most of the time... u have to go pass it... through the loading bays and ull reach the other parking... this one is more.......civil. and empty. used to have enough space for big bikes to park senget oso. not sure what its like now though.

id give a ride to MV once just to find the 2nd parking lot n see what its like. id personally feel better parking there rather than risking my brakes at an lrt station.

Yep thats the one. There are 2 at MV. The first one you see in the vid and the later one. Although I got to the 2nd one from a different, shorter entry.

Quite a number of big bikes there at the 2nd one. The first one usually packed. And lets face it, most motorcycle parking in malaysia are not designed for big bikes...especially ones with panniers.
