Jalan Segambut Upgrade is divided into 4 phases.
Think of Phase 1 as starting from north, which is Jln Segambut whereas Phase 4 is from south , Mont Kiara.
Phase 1 - The main Jln Segambut, along the road we have Era Duta North, Riana Dutamas, SRJKC Khai Chee, etc, it ended at flyover near SPPK Segambut. Completed long time ago, a decade or so.
Phase 2 - Currently road construction in progress. It’s about 800 mtr stretch connecting the end of flyover (in phase 1) to Petron North Kiara. Expected to complete by June 2023.
Phase 3 - Not started yet, This is supposed to be a road from Petron North Kiara connecting to Jalan Kiara 4. I think this will start concurrently with MRT construction, as MRT Bkt Segambut will be along this road. Miranda Hill is along this road as well.
Phase 4 - It’s considered semi-complete. This is actually Jalan Kiara 4, and currently it is terminating at Inspirasi Mont Kiara. Allevia Mont Kiara which is currently under construction will further extend the road a little bit, and DBKL will then takeover and link it to Phase 3.

I think Jln Kiara 3 had slowly removed the surrounding squaters over the past decade.
With construction of Allevia, Bon & TWY2, the neighbourhood is indeed being upgraded.

But i think the most important upgrade is the Jalan Segambut Upgrade Phase 3, which will connect Jln Kiara 4 to Jln Segambut Dalam. This should alleviate the traffic in Jln Kiara 3 significantly.

That’s because Phase 3 have not started. Phase 3 can only start once Allevia is completed, and DBKL has the budget to buyout the surrounding squatters area and build flyover and connect Jln Kiara 4 and Jln Segambut Dalam.

Phase 3 is part of Jln Segambut upgrade master plan, more reference as below:

Nope, phase 3 is not considered started at all. Phase 3 includes the expansion of road from Petron North Kiara, all the way to Jalan Kiara 4 - where Allevia is.

Have you heard anything from sales agent regarding the road connectivity? Jln Kiara 3- Jln Segambut Dalam or connection to Jln Duta Kiara?
Just wondering whether they have insider news on when the road upgrade can commence.

Given a choice, I think it’s better to suffer for a few years and be surrounded by Bon, rather than having squatters around.

If developer is capable to convert an “U” shape land plot surrounding an existing landed property to be Bon Kiara, rest assured that it’s only a matter of time before the surrounding squatters are cleared.

No. 34 - Finally gonna start.

After Allevia, there is no more land as it’s occupied by Richmond and Aston.
The developers will not contribute to it, unlike Allevia and Inspirasi due to their self-interest to have alternative entrance and commitment to DBKL also.

Most likely DBkL will fund the roads.

I think the elevated road at Jln Kiara 4, connected by Inspirasi and Allevia are quite expensive either. DBKL is taking advantage of this, rather than forking out money for the road, let Inspirasi and Allevia do it.

So DBKL just need to build from Allevia until Petron North Kiara.

JK4 will not be end road. JK4 is always planned to connect to Jln Segambut Dalam, this has always been the plan and part of Jalan Segambut Upgrade Master Plan and KL City Plan 2040.

If you notice, from Petron North Kiara - there are new roads being built and terminated due to hill side. The hill side needs to be flatten and new road construct to link all the way to Allevia @ Jln Kiara 4. Not to forget, Allevia side is elevated so the cost will be high.

So when will the government set aside the budget to construct this crucial link? MRT3 is the answer. MRT- Bukit Segambut and MRT - Mont Kiara will be connected by this road link, and the longer the project delays, the longer we have to wait.

Mrt corp is building a temporary accommodation for workers for construction.

Any idea how long is gonna take?

The road connection is barricaded. No progress yet as of now.
