I have been hearing about this absurd advise from a few different people now - consume 30 egg each day for a high protein, mass building diet (10 eggs per meal).
1st time I encountered this was from a Facebook enabler (property not fitness), a PT from my current gym also told me that he takes 10 egg for breakfast every morning, there is a lady lifter whom I know also swear by 30 eggs per day.
Based on my limited bioscience knowledge it is not beneficial as I assume:
1. It is just not sustainable - the sheer amt of eggs required per month. 1 tray per day = 30 trays per month. The thought of swallowing that amount of eggs per day is nauseating how to do it everyday for months.
2. The natural digestive system will not be able to fully utilize so much protein per sitting (10 eggs = 60g of protein). The excess protein will be stored in the body as fats right?
3. The calorie value of one egg is about 75 hence 750 calories per meal, 2,250 calories for 3 meals. Still OK if eat only eggs every meal, if add some simple carbohydrates each meal will push the total calories to about 3,000. Quite high already.
So is 30 eggs feasible diet or a shortcut to obesity?

But if you Google the effects of taking too much protein then you'll get some info on it and up to you to believe it or not. I read that it might stress the kidneys in return. Thanks for correcting me. But still I hope someone with personal experience can help TS to find the answer he's looking for.

QUOTE(degraw1993 @ Jul 17 2017, 09:30 PM) I do 10 eggs everyday and still breathing 10 eggs at one go or spread throughout the day? I am not implying that it has any adverse effect on your health, only that it is not optimum as our body cannot digest so much protein during one meal. As I said it's my opinion and I may be wrong, maybe we can process in excess of 60g of protein per meal. I know some smart guy will come in and quote an IFBB pro who consume such and such diet w 300g of protein but those guys r 280lb and a little bit 'enhanced' There was an article that I read on why whey is an inefficient way of feeding protein to our body as it goes through our digestive system within 2 hours and the natural body cannot process 20g of protein within the short period of time.

why dont you just calculate your macros and see how much protein u need per day instead of listening to these bro stuff. And 3k calories for bulking is actually not crazy as it sounds, it's quite normal for bulking depending on what your current maintenance is and goal. Macros is the best way to know whats optimal for you so u dont overeat on other nutrients and gain fat instead of lean muscle.

by 30 eggs per day, only eating the egg, or 30 eggs for just breakfast but still eating other meals at other time. if the latter, of course you'll get fat
1. if we're talking eating 30 eggs per day and only that for the entire day, its not too bad. 1 tray of 30 eggs = 10 bucks which translates to about 300 bucks per month. that's the amount of money i spend on my usual groceries, chicken etc monthly.
2. i'm on 23 1/2 hours fasting. ingesting 100+ grams of protein in 1 meal. no issues. 60 grams per meal is nothing.
3. depends on the egg size. on the norm, eggs in malaysia ranges from 60 - 80 calories. so yea the calorie count is high already as it is for 30 eggs. the idea of the diet, at least from what i've seen in youtube, is you're supposed to just eat the eggs only. not other stuffs. its a crash diet meant to see result fast. not sustainable. I would rather go on Keto.
So is 30 eggs feasible diet or a shortcut to obesity? = if you stuff your face with other shits, then yea, of course you'll get fat. at the end of the day, ultimately is still CICO for weighgain/loss.

I think its fine to eat 30 Eggs (without yolk preferably) per day as long as your output in the gym goes way beyond your input.. Its all about balance.. and egg is actually the cheapest source of protein.. its all bout the balance.. input and output..

30 eggs a day combined with regular meals is excessive. There's no need to eat that much.
If you're eating only eggs: While eggs are one of the most nutrient dense foods out there, it's still lacking some essential nutrients, so you can't go on eggs alone either. Also an egg only diet is a ketogenic diet.
