Kuala Dungun based? looks like i'll give them a call and check. just wanna do a one day dive trip over the weekend
*
yes sir.
if i can recall correctly 8am at their place, then onboard. back by 5pm.
its 3 dives.

1st site - east temple (crystal clear until like 30+ meter down)
this is where i met the whaleshark. kinda hectic coz theres another group of divers who keep on chasing the whaleshark *facepalm*
it came to us for like few mins then swam away because being chase.

2nd site - fire temple i think, where we drift underwater current. tons of nudies

3rd site - we decide to go back to 1st site, again.. met with the whaleshark. this time just us. spend like 20+ mins with it.
it even come to surface and play bumping around. hahaha

it was my first time to tenggol and was lucky to met the gentle giant.

Hey guys, wondering if it's not too difficult to do a Malapascua trip as a solo traveler (obviously not solo diver though)?

Because my job is remote, so I don't plan to take leave to go. But I wonder how is the internet in Malapascua so that I can attend to work when needed?

i went with a group, but as long as you are willing to pay single supplement surcharge whether for transport to island (if you are taking a private transport, not local bus), as well as at the hotel I guess I dont see a problem.

best is to check with the dive centre you are interested in, normally no issue to go solo, but some dive centre will have single supplement if ended up a solo lesson session with the instructor.

Hahaha no worries... Try considering anilao and Puerto Gallera...if you're lucky you'll see the thresher shark at Gallera... It's cheaper than palawan... And anilao is the best macro heaven.. best of luck !!!

Malapascua only for Thresher Shark mainly, but hit n miss sometimes. Need to go early morning.
My experience , first dive only can see shadow in deep blue then surface interval an hour, go back down and saw 2 at cleaning station spot, cant remember how many but i think theres 3 spots. - Monal shoal

Didnt manage to go Kimud Shoal, they said low chance to see hammerhead & tiger (recently someone posted).

Gato island - whitetip shark (often under the rock/small cave). Sometimes resting in open.

Just got back from Koh Tao 4 days diving last week... got top say quite nice... but Sail Rock dive spot really like pasar malam, first boat to arrive did 1 dive, then surface up and most of boat coming from Koh Tao & Koh Phangan

This month chances can see Juvenile Whale Shark roaming Sail Rock <> Chumphon Rock

Sail Rock
Chumphon Rock
HTMS Sattakut - wreck

70% all mat salleh, 20% foreign workers, 10% thai i think.

New Way Diving , at Sairee Beach area.

Last I saw their schedule, every 2 days they do Sail Rock and quite a number cospace as in other DC joins in. Chumpon Rock i think every 2-3 day once.
Need double check, but i can confirm is every 2 days they do Sail Rock.

If you into photograph look for Goh (Thai) or Tom(Korean) but very good english.
Chalee(Thai) also okay but hardly spot small stuff. Goh kinda spotter as well. As for Tom didnt go with him yet, his customer mostly Koreans.

Helo, my limited personal opinion is, it is not a bad time to dive (meaning dive resorts are still open, there may have rain/wave/surge but not as bad as in monsoon season).

Strangely in my experience visibility/weather can be quite different year to year so if you can, you should just plan and go ahead. for peninsular Malaysia you can look at Tioman, Redang, Perhentian, Tenggol I guess.

Welcome to the diving family.
