I see.. Mine current battery still stock battery, 27 months up to date. Still can start the car, but those interior light or dashboard panel icon light start to dim off during crank start the car. So I think its time for new battery. Haha.

2019 vios owner here, I got my car recently and I felt a bit weird clicking feel when switching the gear. When stop at traffic light I switch from drive gear to neutral, there is some resistance during the switch and there a slight clicking sound and feel during the switch. I wonder visit this happen to all others or only mine ?
*
Mine 2017 also same here. From N to D is smooth, but when from D go N got click noise. This won't happen on vios 4AT car. Tried my friend vios 4AT, his car dont have this clicking sound problem during change gear.

My car front passenger carpet missed thrown away by the car wash shop worker.. I went to wash car on last Wednesday, 4 days ago.. Today just realize 1 piece carpet missing. I went back to the shop, asked the worker abt the carpet, the worker thought i asked them to throw away the rubbish together with my carpet. But the fact is i told them throw away the rubbish that i put on the carpet, not together with the carpet lol..

The worker promise will find me a similar mat for me, he said original one. But that out of my satisfactory concern, who on earth a car owner will ask u to throw away the original carpet. Walao!

Is it possible to order from toyota SC for the carpet?

QUOTE(shkhoo @ Oct 7 2019, 10:48 PM)
So it happen to all vios CVT? did you mention and ask SC to change it or inspect it ? if not is there any issue on your gearbox till today? a bit worry as gearbox is a major part and quite expensive part.
*
QUOTE(valve @ Oct 9 2019, 11:06 AM)
How you solved the issue ? Mine also 2016 Vios 3rd gen having same symptom. Feel like old car already.
*
Hi, I am not sure if it happened to all VIOS cvt, and never asked SC about this. I have been used to that "tak" noise every time switching from D to N. The gearbox was still solid from the day one I collect my car till now. Been up to Cameron twice, Genting Highland more than 4 times, and Bukit Fraser more than 3 times. The CVT still working as charm. The only drawback on this CVT is the pickup power only. The rest are fine, very fuel efficient some more. My best record is 20++KM/Litre. Be light footed, accelerate gently as the engine pickup power.

Go Genting 's half hill, take gondola cable car  or  drive up Genting Highland all the way top ?

Using normal D,  or switch to M+  or M-  ? How about going down hill, using D and brake, or switch between M+/-  ??

Noticed and felt that full synthetic oil with additive / fuel intake petrol injector in CVT is given better mileage..
*
I go all the way up to Genting Highland top. In karak highways still using D, but once Genting exit, then switch to M mode, climb hill all use M, when there's flat road or less steep road, I put it back to D.

For downhill, I use D, I tried M mode before, but seems the engine braking by using M- mode is not giving much effect, hence, I use more on the brake, but brake gently, slow down to 20-30km/h before enter the corner, then let the car roll. My cruise speed while going down hill wont exceed more than 60km/h, except those flat road.

The fuel addictive also yes. I am full time Caltex RON97 user, (let's just don't start the topic about RON on our car engine. Everyone got their own points when come to fuel RON number, but hey, it is about individual preferable and affordability, let's cut it here for those who wanna start the RON discussion again.)

Back to fuel addictive, I also use Caltex Concentration Plus for every 5000km traveled.
Yes, indeed it gave more mileage. 2 months ago I went to Cameron Highland, and I pour 1 bottle of CCP into my fuel tank, and it gave me 420++km, with fuel indicator passed the half tank mark, and down a bit reaching the half before quarter tank mark.

which petrol brand is best for mileage.
Right now, I pump shell RON95.

Used to pump Ron97.

If travelling long journey. I will definitely pump Ron97
*
For me personally, I will go for either BHP or Caltex, for their cleaning addictive in their fuels. Both gave almost the same mileage. But BHP seems like give more power, while Caltex is more smooth.

It is also depends driver right foot ler.. haha..

By default, toyota comes with own undercarriage cover, which can help prevent water splash into engine bay.

Maybe you can have a look on this -> http://orsenparts.com.my/orsen-shield/

May I ask is it that you keep refuel full for about every 16+- km travelled?

Normally people will use 1 tankful until refuel indicator lights on, then go refill and calculate the average fuel consumption.

after warranty runs out do u all still go back to toyota service centre for servicing? seems like the pricing is a bit steep.
*
It's all up to individual, if you know a workshop that can perform the servicing up to your expectation (in terms of workmanship and price), OR you don't care at all (opt for cheap labor and parts), just service outside of Toyota.

IMO, if you get your car servicing done at Toyota, anythings goes wrong you can still complaint/claim back to them, as they are big brand in Malaysia, and definitely they will uphold their branding by providing good quality after sales service.

I've been sent in my car for servicing at Balakong branch, so far I am satisfy with their services provided, and even a follow up call, after you done your visit to their service center.

QUOTE(amoura @ Nov 26 2019, 06:34 AM)
It is using the toyota engine, the 2nr-ve. Its from the same family as the vios engine, the 2nr-fe but using a high-tensile steel rather than aluminium block. Mostly common on rear wheel drive car like avanza because it positioned longitudinally. In myvi case however, it takes the engine, positioned it back transversely for front wheel drive and added some stop-start system for better fc.  If compared it side by side with a vios, it basically the same engine, with different material using for the engine block.
*
The new 2NR-VE engine was improvised by Daihatsu for the Toyota Avanza 1.5 litre models, which is based on the 1.5-liter 2NR-FE engine. Unlike the original 2NR-FE that is mated to the Toyota Sienta, which is using an aluminium block and is positioned transversely, the 2NR-VE that is commonly found on the 1.5-liter Avanza is still using high-tensile steel like its predecessor, the 3SZ-VE engine, and is positioned longitudinally. Thus, the 2NR-VE in the Avanza is Rear-wheel drive.[6] The all new third generation Perodua Myvi revised this engine and installed the new Eco Idle stop-start system which was implemented in Perodua Bezza before to enhance fuel efficiency than before.

what about the yokohama blue earth es323? have had any experience with those?
in the market for new set of tyres (all 4) as well. been thinking either toyo nano 3 or yokohama blue earth. The difference were the toyo is made in perak, while the yoko made in japan. 185/60/15 size.

yoko is cheaper by rm5 per piece.
*
Experienced their first line up product of bluearth series, AE01. Got the dolphin pattern on the thread one. Comfort and silent tyre, but not really can run down the mileage, not even reach 40k then I have to change new set tyre already.

QUOTE(aaronwky @ Nov 28 2019, 08:47 PM)
Oh wow how you guys get better FC / mileage?
Is it the factor of fuel use and distance?
once in a while I'm a heavy footer, and so far I been driving my cars 4-5 times per week.

The green colour is when I went back my hometown at Melaka.

user posted image
*
Familiarize your foot with CVT drive train, accelerate your car follow the engine linear power, don't give it a sudden accelerate, and this of course will not save fuel.

I am melaka people too, but staying in KL, go and forth hometown every 3 weeks interval. Avg FC stays at 15km+- with the mixture driving in city and highway.

QUOTE(yok70 @ Nov 28 2019, 09:09 PM)
wow, FC is so poor for new car. My 11 year old Myvi got similar numbers, averaged at 12km/litre city drive. I thought new Vios should be getting at least 15km/ltr city drive.

May i know after running for how many KM, the FC will become normal?
*
I think its normally after the first engine oil change of the new car. It depends also on what EO spec u used, like *w-40, 30, 20?

With visco number getting larger, the engine also need higher load to cutting through the oil, and vice versa. Higher load will affect FC but not so noticeable.

QUOTE(Crocus_fern @ Nov 28 2019, 11:07 PM)
For City or town roads, many traffic lights stop, I m getting 14. 2 km per liter and I m heavy footer too on 100% town road, no highway, AMJ or federal express way..  If highway, can reach and get 620km..

Per my previous experience on previous old Saga, spouse Myvi cars, consulted foreman and Uncle Google. Many factors :- just list a few..

External :-
Inflated car tires air (angin)
Heavy or lite fuel footer
Wind blowing direction, swing
Road conditions
Tire tyres andthreads.. Which tires give ECO, but compromise safety?
Speed of car movement.

Internal :-
full synthetic oil 0 - 30w,
Genuine oil and air filters.
10k mileage pour in fuel additive..E.G Toyota OEM, Techron concentrate plus, Liqui moly.
Work with SC, to update to latest engine firmware.
Pour in RON 97.. This is definitely better mileage , but costly.
Spark plug???  Few of my friends agreed on this.
Since it's under warranty, continue service at SC.
https://www.autoguru.com.au/car-advice/arti...ease-horsepower

Just a few.
*
Your EO addictive is those engine flush? liqui moly is ceratec?

Just sent my new Vios for the 1st 1K service. It took me exactly a month to reach 1K. The service advisor told that I have to bring back the car for 5K service by end of Jan. It means the interval for 2nd service is only 4K and they expect the car to run 4K within 2 mths. I think the recommend service interval is too short.
*
This is normal for the first 2 services, start from 3rd service, then it will resume to normal service schedule.
