any recommendation for real wheel absorber brand and last longer...

nowadays absorder seem easily dead sweat.gif

People in klang valley have to live with it. Potholes here an there. None stop development. Any brand of shock absorber won't last long. Not until it starts to make sound. I won't change wink.gif

Found the rattling sound. It is from passenger side dashboard.

Only able to stop the sound after press hardly on the dashboard.  But sound still exist after let off. Especially on uneven road.

If in this case,  can service centre reopen n check any loosen part inside?
*
Depends on sc, some foreman lazy to do. Need to ask around which sc is ethical. Do take note, by opening the dashboard, may induce another problem.

Coz now only diff rm0.3. Don know worth to try not.
*
Yeah sure. Go ahead and try. But you must measure by scientific calculation and method. Not just by feeling.

Paultan website already done the test. But it was done using saga. You can try their method on vios.

I just got my car this month. Sales person told me i should service at 1000km or 1 month. now is about 400km++ and is going to reach 1 month next week after purchase. should i go service first or wait till 1000km? and which kind of oil i should choose?
*
Go for 1k, more engine running. If need to service by duration, they might as well service their car in their stock every month.

In your case, you might need to quickly fulfill 1k mileage within these 1 or 2 months. It's for the warranty.

Engine oil can choose between mineral or semi. Don't waste money on fully because you are going to service on 5k mileage.

From Paultan there also show not much different.

I tried with my old vios, 2010version, go highway, almost same fuel consumption with RO95.

If so, i stick back to RO95 better, for the new vios.
*
Been mention many times but there always someone will promote 97 for uncomprehending reason.

Thank you for your reply. Asking because I want to use Liqui Moly Engine Oil.
*
Liqui moly is just an engine oil with mos2 as additive. Mos2 being used because of low friction and can act as dry lubricant.

Mos2 can retain their lubricity even in cases of almost complete oil loss and more beneficial in critical engine such as aircraft engines compared to car engines.

Even if you have this type of lubrication in your car engine, you will still unable to start the engine because of low oil pressure.

To me it is useless. Make no different if use engine oil recommended by car manufacturer.

Want to ask the service for every 10k, the petrol injection cleaner is needed? The sc always recommend me to use. Tq.
*
No need if you use petrol with high detergency. Else, once in a while, use ron97 for the extra additives.

Tq. I'm using petronas ron 95. It's considered as high detergency?
*
I'm using petronas as well and was using petron. Make no different between the two. Reason being choosing either was because their availability in most places.

Petronas has detergen in their fuel. How high, unknown to me.

is that anyway to turn off vios 2018 daytime lighting (located infront of car)? i realize it always on when driving. Another question, does anyone buy a new floor mat to replace the toyota fabric floor mat? just worry the fabric floor mat will get dirty easily
*
yes you can turn off drl but not easy (no switch). just remove drl controller located underneath dashboard. if you have the money for premium floor mat, you can try ottoman mat. i've done mine.

Which soft99?
*
since you are asking for polish brand, our friend has given you a known brand for polish. it is a blue color tin can.

i won't recommend using any polish since it's abrasive and can rip off paint if done incorrectly. try liquid wax or other automotive cleaner that is safe for paint.

Lol, once you found one scratch on the car or one tiny dent on the door, you will lose the motivation on keeping the car shinny.

For me, no need to put all your heart to a mere transportation item when at the end you'll be heartbroken.

I just wax my car and do plain water wash when i got time. When the wax washed off after few months, just shampoo the car and do wax again. I never wash with shampoo after done wax. Else, wax won't last long.

10day pass ... 1k reach... went for 1st service last Tuesday use engine oil 10/30. Doesn't fell much different the car still feel heavy when eco/eev try to jump in when driving with (D).
Play with shiftmatic mode acceleration 0-140km/h a little disappointed. Maybe not yet get use to CVT with dual vvti. Guys what is the best and highest rpm before shifting to next gear.
For my previous persona each gear shifting on 5k rpm is the best.
*
Manual shift no longer on eco mode. It consumes more petrol since cvt will be on fixed ratio. I will use it when i need sudden acceleration or when i'm uphill/downhill like genting.

Experienced or manual trans driver don't need to look at rpm to upshift. Furthermore, it is dangerous to keep looking at tachometer every time need to shift. Moreover, there is no minimum/maximum rpm requirement to upshift/downshift. All will be based on current application and for vios, it will beep if the downshift not suitable for the current speed. For example, rpm can reach 6k if you do engine braking while going downhill or rpm can pass redline if you wish to maximize acceleration and do late upshift.

And, if you need quick overtaking, switch to m and make 2 downshift then floor the pedal.

Also, if you wish for fixed ratio cvt instead of variable ratio cvt without switch to m, you just need to floor the pedal.

The radio on my 2 weeks old Vios sounds like choking in water. However, bluetooth sounds just fine.
May I know if this is something fixable?
I am using the stock Dvd-Avx by the way.
*
your speakers are fine. probably your radio reception. either antenna or your area has a weak radio signal. what model is your car and what type of antenna it using?

Vios 2018 and shark fin antenna. Is there a way I can fix it without voiding the warranty?
*
Shark fin is known to have bad reception. Most luxury car with shark fin will have booster to amplify signal and the wiring usually more than one.

I don't recommend to convert to shark fin unless you do for the sole purpose of aesthetic.

The new vios 2018 comes with shark fin, I'm not sure how is the wiring. It may have single wiring (i don't really know). If that's the case, you have to live with it.

By the way, have you tried tune in on a confirmed high signal area? If still bad, you need sc to check.

I try vios and city both (D) car 0km/h then floor to the pedal, really vios is abit disappointment for acceleration.
For overtaking yes switch to m and downshift then floor the pedal really can overtake very fast.
I'm still quite new on CVT gear. U mean if the driving in high speed sudden downshift engine breaking ex gear7 to gear3 it will beep because the gear is not suitable?
*
Cvt amongst manufacturers behave differently. Toyota cvt known for reliability but at the moment failed on acceleration from a complete stop. The new toyota direct-shift cvt will solve the problem. Very unfortunate it didn't come out earlier.

If you are on high speed, you downshift one by one. If you need to make more than 1 quick downshift, make sure rpm don't exceed redline. If you try to force downshift when it not suitable and can cause damage to cvt and engine, it will beep and won't allow the next downshift.

Do take note, engine braking is not suitable for cvt. Constant engine braking will shorten cvt belt's life. Cvt is using belt and pulleys. Auto and manual trans using gears. The last two are more durable.

Hi every Vios sifu here, i just own a new vios, don't know its 2017/2018 model, it came with shark fin antenna, i would like to have a question about the fog lamp bulb model is H7 or H16, i have check the forum for quiet sometime some sifu mention is H16, but i have go to car accessories shop ask which they told me is H7, i am so confused, and i worry on buying the wrong model of bulb, i am interested on changing it into led sad.gif
*
Vios 2018 came with shark fin. Easy enough, if you own the car, just look at the registration card, year of manufactured.

Anyway, 2017/2018 basically the same. Just the newer comes with shark fin, park assist and few more.

Erm, sifu any clue about the fog light bulb model laugh.gif
*
Nowadays, many fog lamp comes with L-shape socket. If the socket is L, then not H7 bulb.

H16 is L-shape but 19W. H7 is 55W. If you want brighter light, you need to use HIR2 bulb which is L-shape 55W.
