Ayone can share your input

This is very subjective. If you have the money, always do everything at sc, guarantee high quality. If you want the alternative, depends on your luck. Might get cheated with inferior product. Unless you know the workshop very well. This does not affect other warranty whatsoever apart from rust- proof.

Anyone has similar experience or can advice me. I have a Vios 2017, when driving on a rainy day or a cool morning my front and back (sometimes also all windows) windscreen gets very foggy and cannot see. Back windscreen has heater so no problem but front windscreen foggy condition gets worst when using the wiper. The car does not have any heater-hot air blow function to the windscreen.
*
it has nothing to do with the car you are driving. in fact it happens to any car. first you have to rectify, foggy screen on inside or outside. if inside, meaning cabin temperature is warmer than outside. you have to decrease the temperature by turn up the dial (to make the cabin more cooler).

if outside, meaning cabin temperature is much cooler than outside. either turn off the ac or roll down your windows to balance the temperature. else get a defogger spray - defogger spray does not last long for external application, you have to keep applying it.

Nothing happen , asking behalf for my friend

I really don't now what HDMI for , but now I notice it do have hdmi port at middle so nothing questioned haha

Now vios selling real cheap compare previous

Below 70k for e spec

While 67k for j spec

But when I go to carlist , certain people selling at 65k not sure otr or not
*
i'm sure the one with hdmi is dvd-avn not dvd-avx. those found in internet can be misleading. better visit showroom for better insight. toyota has many variants and many types of entertainment unit.

2014, The car shake with a loud ' kong ' . Going from R > N > D and back to P is fine. it sometimes happens though..

Found some info on checking the transmission fluid , it's still clear red.

What i should be checking?
*
Check atf level. Else could be transmission mounting.

my Vios 2014, had passed the warranty period and personally, I felt that the absorbers are damn soft.. looking for a set of stiffer absorbers... any recommendation?

No intention to lower it at all in order not to sacrifice the comfort too much.

PS. my car had done full car soundproofing (floor pan, car boot, 4 doors, wheel arch, except roof). This is one of the reasons that made the car absorbers felt softer due to the additional gross weight. It also made the car felt sluggish... hahahah
*
you already had your car sound proof but there are some area you can't cover. having stiffer absorber will caused things in your car to vibrate much harder when you drive on uneven surface. you will get rattling sound from your seats, glove compartment, underneath dashboard and side door windows.

just checked the Auto Transmission fluid, level and clearness ... it's still 100% and Clear red...

If it's Transmission mounting... is this going to cost a lot to repair?
*
to check mounting, look at the transmission housing underneath the car. at the same time, get someone to shift from p to r. see the housing movement. if it moves quite hard and strong shake, probably need to change the mounting. see if you can spot the sound you mentioned.

if you are nearing the service schedule, why not as toyota sc about your problem.

is tat advisable to change DVD-AVN from DVD-AVX
*
Yes.
-You have to top up around rm2k.
-Still can't watch video while parking brake is off

There is a bypass cable to allow watching video while driving. But you already spent rm2k, why need to pay for additional cable?

For rm2k, you can get best aftermarket with the ability to watch video while parking brake is off. Downside, void warranty for electrical system in your car. Might not compatible with 360 camera.

Just keep the stock in hand and switch back if need to claim related warranty.

Do pay attention, some sc will note down any changes in your car to their service report.

What is the advantage for drum brake?
*
No significant advantage. Lots of disadvantages.

Advantage
- less dust on rim.

Disadvantage
-Dust accumulated in the drum
-More stopping distant
-Difficult to check brake lining condition
-Brake easily lock up due to accumulated dust

Usually people upgrade to disc brake not downgrade to drum brake.

Drum brake may reduce maintenance cost but will increase risk.

the USB playable video should be the more fun part

rather than the DVD usage
*
You need to convert to compatible video format with reduced resolution. Unsatisfactory result. Dvd video has much better quality.

*
Big lamps are tail lamps. Small rear lamps placed at the bottom of the bumper are fog lamps. Single red lamp placed in the middle is third-brake lamp.

apologise....may i know hw much would it cost for replacement ?
*
What year of your car?

For 2013 and above, original unitl cost about 300 - 400 each side. Taiwan made, half of it. Do ask sc to ensure you get the original parts. Outside might be cheaper but can't guarantee the quality.

Similarly, you can charge your phone while turn on your Bluetooth. Like what i did. I mount an ipad to watch video and link the audio to the car Bluetooth.
