Silver aro is not advisable to buy
better buy Pearl or if you got extra fund, buy green aro or yellow tail aro
between green & yellow, i prefer yellow

All the best in finding your aro
*
THANKS bro, am going after lunch to search for my Aro, keep you all potsed on my findings notworthy.gif

THANKs, managed to find a shop selling white/pearl Aro for RM80/- about 15cm in length thumbup.gif
is the price and size ok? Very healthy looking and very "kan-cheong" Aro, it followed my fingers around the tank...good sign? nod.gif

Before you buy that Aro
do u have extra fund, like RM1K
if you have fund like that, might as well buy RTG, not more than RM1K

What is your budget BTW?
*
as Aro rearing is a new hobby to me, I dont think I want to splurge that much cash yet,
prefer to test my skills with a slightly cheaper Aro, see how it goes from there, but thanks for your advise rclxms.gif

QUOTE(madstone @ Feb 20 2008, 08:48 PM)
IMHO, 3.5 tank is quite small la my friend
might as well you start with 4 ft tank
i know quite big & expensive but worth buying & later when your aro getting bigger 3.5 in smaller to the aro
even 4 footer will look small when your aro grow into 2 feet (learned from my experience)

never mind laaaa
may be you can try start with 3.5 1st, then if got more fund, try change it to 4 or 5 footer tank
BTW, nice tank you have there

Deco? I think no need any deco, just let it be
So, what aro are you planning to buy my friend?
Pearl? Yellow Tail?
Yellow Tail can get around/below RM200 if you know how to bargain

try go to Jln Pasar this weekends
Jln Pasar got lot of cheap YT & GA plus really cheap Pearl  thumbup.gif
better go with someone who know which aro is a beauty & which not  wink.gif
*
thanks for the advise, well its a starter tank, so will heed all advises given. Currently found one Pearl for
RM80/- collecting later in the evening, so will post pics when can. rclxms.gif

Hi guys,

Sigh, dam sian, yesterday when to the shop to view their new arrivals, and was shown Australian Aro RM40/- (3.5 inches)
and a Pearl Aro RM30/- (2.5inches), I kinda liked the OZ Aro cuz he looked much healthier and lively compared to the Pearl Aro.
Couldn't take any pictures as they were swimming pretty fast;)

BUT, my HM still thinks I should not get the Aro and stick with Oscars, which they had just brought in, Black/Red, White/Red
and Full White going for RM5/- each!

Now am stuck between my "mental" dream of rearing Aro's and going back to my roots (I started with Oscar's)
had 4 which grew till about 22cm long and 4inch width, freaking huge buggers!! They all died when I had an
argument with my stupid neighbor, who broke my tank (outdoor)....sighh.,..no proof so F it lar....anyways.....the dream lives on...

keep you all posted.....

to Aro or not to Aro, that is the QUESTION...... tongue.gif

p/s hve a good weekend all....

Would there be any space left to buy another tank?
IF yes, you answer is yes, then, buy another one la

underway to built an pond icon_rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif which HM agrees, but year end only lar whistling.gif

thanks bro, but am a bit worried, as Ozzie tends to only nibble his "iced mealworms" and leaves the rest
to drop to the bottom, since it does not float, how ah? shall i change to pellets? and recommendations on pellets? blush.gif

Hey wait!
For first few days, aro normally dun eat
just let it be, wait till few days, may be 2 days, then try feed him again

this is because aro still trying to adapt to new home & when it comfortable with it, it will eat
*
oops, guess newbie mistake by me, shakehead.gif aiyo, no wonder lar..THANKS BRO for the info,
am relived now, much relieved rclxm9.gif thanks again...

this is to avoid drop eyes if given drops/sinked food

at first if your aro don eat....could be because he is tank stress....starve him 3-5 days den only stard feeding again.....don worry about not eating....you are the boss not him...so feed him only when u feel like u want to feed him ! hahahahaa....

and for the pallet training...if he don eat....u can feed those pallet to the meal worms...and meal worms to aro....it works that way too !
*
Couldn't find the Azoo Multi Stick at my regular fish shop, even went to Taman Mayang Pet Family Store they didn't have it
and they asked me to use SERA brand, says as good as Azoo. Will be going Uptown Galaxy later during lunch to find, hope there got.

Yesterday fed Ozzie a frozen mealworm, he was really hungry I guess, he ate everything, even the one on the floor.!

Am planning to put a drift wood so that the tank doesn't look "empty", any advise on this? Maybe some lite decorations,
advice IF any are more them welcomed.

QUOTE(madstone @ Feb 26 2008, 02:04 AM)
I normally let the superworms ate each other
i tried feed them bread, fruits (apples, cucumber) but to no avail, nothing, none
so, just let they eat themselves laugh.gif
*
wahlau rclxub.gif like this also can ah, havent seen worms eat themselves!!

BTW, am using FROZEN mealworms, its ok right?
