how does this happen, any SIFU can explain?

My 1,500th post glad its in the AROWANA thread

bought the Azoo 9in1 Stick, Ozzie kinda not eating yet, maybe merajuk, cuz suddenly
instead of mealworms get "sticks" anyways will monitor and post reply.

As for water change, will take the advise, will water change every 3 weeks

Many many years ago my eldest brother used to rear Toman Harimau & Bunga both in diff tanks, they ate
crickets, life fish, fat worms from our garden and ate about 10 frogs each at one go, till my Mum complain
dam "geli" seeing the frogs, so we changed.....chicken & mutton..and what ever else was in the fridge

shocking rite, but true, Toman will eat anything (in between no meals about 3-4 days) they grew so fast
we had to change 3 tanks in 1 year, last one measuring 6x3x4...madness.....gave 1 away as the female died, while
the other an Uncle took over (think ended up in the rice pot)...



Currently Ozzie still not eating, so maybe later might change the water(20%)...and see ho wit goes from there...

ok, yesterday after work, managed to clean the tank, (20%) water change, as well as cleaned the pump.
So far Ozzie still not looking happy, so will keep monitoring as he hasnt eaten since yesterday morning

Based on the pics i posted earlier, it is placed at a high traffic area, car porch, i hve no choice as
I already have 3 tanks inside my house, and my wife "sian kowkow" to have another inside, thast why placed there,
besides its for "feng-shui" purposes too currently NO deco and water is at 90%...

Hi Guys,

Guess due to my own stupidity, my tank now has greenish water look (algae?)
this could be due to the fact the tank is outside visible to hot sun. have taken
COCO advise and closed up the tank with an old curtain, but am still worried about
the "algae" look, will this hurt my Aro in anyway?

Any recommendations to remove algae, except removing the tank to a better place?

Moving will be a problem, I hve to "remove" 3 tanks from inside to outside which is the deal with my wife
so will go look for this "Fei Feng" fishy as my "budget" for buying stuffs (UV Sterilizer) for the tank has been slashed by 100%
hehehe...nak bagi bini happy punyer pasal, what to do, am a good "loh-kong" maa...

thanks for the advise... btw, Fei Feng can get along with Aro's?

food?..nothing at the bottom wor or in the tank, so far the Eheim pump i bought is doing a swell job

Hi Guys & Gals(sry dunno got or not).

found out why my Aro doesn't want to eat the Multi stick & mealworms liow,
seems that at night, where the tank is, there is a porch light which attracts BUGs,
so loads of bugs will kamakazie into the tank via the open holes at the top, and he
has been feeding on them, non stop every night especially when it rains am horrified

Saw him eating non-stop last night, couldn't do anything to stop him, have scooped up most of the bugs,
so late last night covered all the hole, left few open, how guys, does this effect the Aro in any way?

Ozzie has grown 1 1/2 inches, cuz he does look slightly bigger, dunno IF its the bugs
anyways, he is back to eating the multi sticks and mealworms as well....

to those who posted their tank set-ups

Bought some worms and started feeding them the Multisticks, wahlau mcm tak makan 10 tahun
mannn....they ate the sticks in less then an hour habis liow my wife & maid dam geli habis cannot tahan
seeing the worms hehehe...anyways, Ozzie loves eating live worms now, so am mixing
frozen worms for morning breakfast and evening when i get back from work, its live worms fed with
multisticks ...harap harap, besar giler my Aro

hehehe thanks bro I hope so too just fed Ozzie, habis clean the tank fidning for worms
will feed him more later B4 i sleep, is there such a thing as over feeding an Aro? cuz my wife
says Im over doing for now paiseh paiseh....hehehe.....

Low coffee tables also can, cuz now I want to move Ozzie into the house
and sacrifice 2 other tanks as agreement with HM sigh....

Yesterday went shopping for table/stand for the aquarium at Pet Family Store in Tmn Mayang (PJ)
dam cow mahal place , left without buying the table except bought the Azoo Green Clear water for the tank.

Looks like buying an Ikea table (nicer looking as well ) will be better lar, hehehe....

and am feeling the "keracunan" with all those beautiful pics of posted Aros'....

I did to bro,scouted at normal Uncle's Aquariums, their designs like 1950's lar hehehe..nanti sia sia kena kutuk by my HM
anyways, still looking......the Azoo water cost me RM13/- (small bottle) big abt RM26/- i think...
and agree with you, Azoo stuff memang expensive

I use filtered water to tambah balik, and add chlorine, but NO Black water,

After lots of argument with my HM(GOD bless her ) she relented and Ozzie now has a new
place to crash and a new stand paid RM65/- for a collapsible stand + free 3" feet underlay foam(1 inch)


water looks greenish dunno why, (background pic is Black?) am using Filtered water, pic taken about an hour after cleaning
and inserting Ozzie back in....hope it goes away? or do I need to get BW?
