If you do go and google and study about wireless. i bet u will complaint less

like it or no, wireless is share bandwidth.....all you need is some irresponsible party DIY their own device to boost transmission and download/upload like no tomorrow. In high density area you are bound to have congestion as everybody is actively using.

Addition to that, why not port to maxis?
*
Port to maxis? Please explained or suggest any worthy plan, might consider it and thanks.

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jun 2 2018, 10:38 AM)
Then what’s the performance you want? Wireless internet is never consistent and you can’t just label it as congestion just because the speed is not up to your desire.
*
Please read my following post. I stated in the following post (Bebas weekly capped at 10mbps - quite stable for all-day).
To me, 10mpbs rclxms.gif is quite good already.
I didn't mean 80mpbs vs 30mbps is "CONGESTION" in my example.
Furthermore, I said "ONLY BEST", + "You won't know till you test it".

Is it becos i am use B310 instead of B618?
*
I already said this Digi i150 is ONLY BEST for those live nearest to the Digi cell tower. Even within the same "TAMAN" (a 3-5 minutes walking distance), you could see a great difference in speed.
This Huawei B618 might help boosting signal and a little speed. However, please DO NOT think it will help in congestion issue.
Comparing my Huawei e5186 vs B618:
I only see different in the very early morning - should be not congested (e5186 = ±20mbps vs B618 = ±25mbps).
e5186 - getting 4G signal 3 or 4 bars, speed is around ±3mbps in congested time.
B618 - getting 4G+ signal 4 or full bars, speed is still around ±3mbps in congested time.

Therefore, it should have nothing to do your modem. You MIGHT hmm.gif get a little speed boost though don't expect it like 20mbps. Still, it is depend on LOCATION.

are u located in 4G+ area? try lock single band instead of auto band.
*
Yes, my area just upgraded to 4G+ end of this April. My phone signal also show 4G+ but not always while the B618 shows constant 4G+ signal. Maybe, there is maintenance in my area as told by Digi CS until 13 June (since 20 April) whistling.gif
BTW, I already told you my connection speed in previous post (checked back my previous post, my connection in the morning seem better last time).
Look like it’s getting worse from time to time, maybe many more Digi users in my area.

6 more days? Do you really trust them laugh.gif ?
Let's me tell you mine : complained on 18 April (said upgrade solved on 28 April), complained on 29 April (said outage solved on 22 May), complain on 23 May (said maintenance solved on 28 May), and again maintenance (said to be solved on 13 June). Don't get high hope sad.gif

BTW, I do NOT see any difference in between this time, really maintenance etc. etc. ???

I should be thankful to be able to get this speed, though usually at this hour should be more than 130Mbps. I looked at some of the SS shared in DPIC group, the ping is.. sweat.gif

As I said this "Ookla speedtest app" shows UNUSUAL speed, and its PING is usually lower compared to other speedtest.
Yours may have no difference, but I believe many people here getting fake result in OOKLA "App" on Digi network.

today is day 5 speed still bad. called digi said no upgrade or maintenance on my area...  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

4G+ Signal does NOT mean better speed on Digi network. Just like my location, upgraded to 4G+ signal, yet the speed is still same. Congestion is very noticeable. Coming this Raya should be much worst cry.gif .
Yeah, I am NOT getting the speed like others, I just hope Digi would be comparable to this new unifi mobile at least consistently around 10-20mbps and PING is lower.
BTW, i found out that ONLY ON Digi network that this ”Ookla speedtest app” shows unusual high speed even during congested time.
Tested with Maxis One, Celcom prepaid, u mobile, & unifi mobile, these would show actual speed.

i'm pretty sure my area dont have band 7 yet. tried lock b7, no signal..haha.. might be modem glitch lol  doh.gif

Maybe, it's 800+1800 that you get 4G+ signal. Not sure tho coz don't understand CA thing.
One thing for sure is this B618 is very powerful in signal reception

My band 7 has very bad RSRP = -116dBm (checked on phone)
Maybe, that's why my 4G+ signal keep going off on phone whereas this B618 gets constant 4G+ signal.

BTW, isn't that our new minister said "double the speed for half the price"??? Digi new postpaid doesn't make sense.

How do you conclude it’s a congestion? Usually the Speedtest is just testing against the local server (most of the time) and if the service you’re accessing is hosted at overseas (assumes there is no co-located content served locally or regionally), most likely the outward link is the bottleneck.
*
Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image

Maybe, it's not congestion as you said. Therefore, I wish you could explain so I know the reason why the ookla speedtest APP is getting higher speed (only on Digi network).
Today is Sunday, my location is very slow.
If my location is really getting speed of the Ookla (constantly at 15-30mbps), I'm very satisfied.
The last two pic tested with another xiaomi phone (xiaomi is better than Samsung).

BTW, I noticed my ping is getting lower since two days back (previously 200+ms).

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jun 13 2018, 08:46 PM)
okay, let’s say you have a connection throughput of 80mbps from your connected client to Digi’s 4G network, and from Digi’s network to YouTube server is only rated at 1.5mbps and from digi’s Network to Singtel’s server is 35mbps at the same point of time, when you do a an access  to YouTube server, the bottleneck would be the link between digi and YouTube server, and when you do a speedtest to Singtel server via speedtest app, it will show you much higher throughput because digi simply has much better throughput link from its network to singtel.

Therefore it’s not really accurate to say it’s congestion of the 4G network at your area at that point of time, it might be due to ‘congestion’ of its back haul to certain services.
*
Thanks for info, but I'm still not so understand.
Lemme tell u how my connection speed, so u could tell me if it's congestion or not.
In the morning, my speed could get +/-25mbps (any speedtest), fluctuates around 10-22mbps for download (like filehippo, download.com or steam)
From afternoon till night, speed get different result every time (1-10mbps on any speedtest except ookla app), fluctuates around 1-8mbps for downloading. Most of the time is below 4m

Nvm, i might discontinued this Digi i150 after August only if unifi mobile were to extend its unlimited data add-on. Can save money n I really don't need very high speed, but a stable connection.

Yeah, you have another option now on top of local broadband. RLH is quite a Godsend thingy. I use it in quite frequent. Just make sure this is already activated else you will get bill shock. sweat.gif

As a frequent traveller, sometimes I don't think MiFi is really a good choice unless all of you sticks together all the time. If all of you depends on one MiFi but sometimes will go on your own way, that is where you will find difficulty to contact each other..

Anyway, enjoy your trip. Thailand is a nice place which I will go every year. laugh.gif
*
I was told by the Digi CS that RLH is ONLY FREE IF we connected to selected telco in specific country. So, we need to do manual connection on our phone to ensure it doesn't change to other telco. Is there a way on "mifi" to select which telco we wish to connect?

Yes but based on my own experience, I always connect to DTAC. Anyway, can use Huawei HiLink app to choose manual network, if I'm not mistaken it has such function.
*
Then, if I were to buy a mifi one day, I should go for the Huawei one.
Anyway, thanks for your answer.

It will be refunded in next statement.

My monthly postpaid bill falls in June 2018 but my phone usage crosses over from May 2018. How will the 0% GST impact me? Will the 6% GST be pro-rated or do I get a full refund?

For new and existing customers who signed up before 1 June 2018 with a crossover billing between May and June 2018, GST will be charged on the monthly fee as well as other credit and charges. The 6% GST amount charged according to the number of days of subscription from 1 June 2018 will be refunded in the next bill statement.
Yes, walk-in only.
*
Nowadays, we actually pay in advanced whether it’s postpaid or prepaid. For billing cycle fall on 16th June, we are actually paying for the period of 16th June to 15th July. As for this June bill, we already paid it on May except for the exceeding amount of the plan we subscribed. Thus, there shouldn’t be any GST for this bill if we did NOT exceed our usage, right? Why many people did not think of this or maybe people just unvoiced this matter? hmm.gif
No matter what, we just have to abide by the rule. tongue.gif

Nope. Check your postpaid plans, it's for previous month.

I know UniFi and Astro are advanced payments but not telco.
*
Rethink of it, definitely I'm wrong, Only prepaid is paying in advanced for Digi.
For u mobile, I pay in advanced. iirc, i pay twice at the time of subscribing and second month, and continuously after that.
I may have mixed them up. Or am I mistaken again.

Can apply for the RM20x6 rebate for a second time? Have you tried and did they grant or deny you, Bro Alex?
*
I was told by the Digi sale person that with RM20x6 rebate, we’re tied to 6-months contract. And, only for new line.
He also said if this RM20x6 rebate is still going on, we could change to prepaid and resign another 6-months contract for i150, still need to pay RM10 on the first month for stamp duty laugh.gif .
However, I’m not sure though cause I haven’t done it yet.

Thank you for sharing this information Bro. The process flow sounds logical but if I recall clearly, is there a cool down period for a prepaid line before it can be changed/upgraded again to postpaid? Hopefully someone here with the experience can enlighten us.
*
I remembered that I did it before changing to prepaid and then to postpaid 50 with RM10x12 rebate a few years back (done in an hour or two).
But, don't know whether there's any amendment to the rule as of now.

*
It's NOT just the infinite 150, all of the Digi network is actually getting worse and worse.
Since i150 share the same tower for all Digi users (be it prepaid or postpaid), all Digi users would get affected.
In my location, I could get 25mbps in the morning last month, now only 8-13mbps ( mad.gif don't talk about the afternoon till night). And guess what, I was told my area had gone through an upgrade completed on this 14th June.
Stupid UPGRADE, it seems more like a DOWNGRADE.

I think if Maxis network is good (acceptable speed with low latency) in "user" location, he/she may subscribe it even paying premium price.
Especially for those that have not much options, either take it or not.

UNLESS your premium price meaning x2 or ridiculously high price.

harlo, is the auto billing 5% rebate for new subscriber only or for first time auto billers? because i didn't sign up for auto billing on registration but now it seems like a good deal
*
Every Digi number has an account number, you get auto billing 5% rebate only for ONE TIME on a NEW account number and it doesn't matter when you get the auto-billing. Hence, once you get auto billing you'll get 5% rebate x 6 months.
Furthermore, if you change to prepaid and then to postpaid again or port in from other telco, your "account number" will be a NEW one. So, you can get another 5% rebate x 6 months.
BTW, changing from postpaid to another postpaid plan won't changed the account number (no 5% rebate again by this way).
You could sign a 6-month contract with RM20 rebate x 6, and get auto-billing 5% rebate x 6 to further reduce the price of the Digi i150 rclxs0.gif .
