Got it.

But here comes the confusion.

When I'm using E5186 on Digi set to automatic band LTE I get balanced of download and upload around 18-20mbps while I'm using B525 on Digi set to automatic band LTE I get 20-35mbps download but upload is just 5-9mbps. What the heck 🤦🏻‍♂️

It seems like B5186 better than B525 😂
*
DL speed for B525 is surely better than E5186. I think it has a newer and faster chipset.
UL speed depend on antenna facing the right angle and how close to the tower, also need router to have more power to send data upto the BTS.

wanna ask something when making call/ on call on 4G modem.

the signal will change to 3G during on call.

but does you all internet is working when is runnning 3G?

mine totally cant use the internet when signal is 3G mode.  doh.gif
*
some modem has problem connecting to internet when downgrade to 3G during voicecall. Some still got internet but data speed is slower than 2G. Maybe its firmware issue, or bug, they need to fix.

anybody tested with B618? what is the max speed? This router support Cat11 4G+ right?

Is it worth getting this compared to B525?

Thanks.

LTE = 150mbps download

LTE-A = usually support 300mbps download and above.

MR200 is Cat4.

Huawei B618 is way too overkill for now. Rm 14xx as seen in Lazada. When will our telco support Cat11? 😅
*
B618 is super expensive, but the important thing is whether digi support cat11 or not ??
anybody tested B618 with i150 plan? what is the max speed?

Can anyone please suggest the best outdoor antenna for my huawei b525?
*
for B525, i have tested many external antenna, non is better than the original internal antenna...
for the same location in the house.
Some how the internal antenna seems to get better signal strength , no point putting in an ugly external one...

will digi lower the i150 plan , now that unifi is giving 100mbps for less than rm100?

how about giving free phone e.g. like umobile p79 / p99 giving free phone for contracted
i think digi should give free phone plan for i150 plan... since it is considered a costly plan nowadays for rm150

Unlikely.

People always thought the i150 is a wireless broadband plan.

It is never a wireless broadband plan and it actually competes with high volume plan from Maxis and Celcom.
*
well, its still a rm150 plan, and people use it for Internet and unlimited hotspot, mostly put inside a modem router rather than phone....
with unifi going cheap and for rm150 for unifi, they are offering 300mbps... the advantage of using digi i150 is almost zero...
many will convert back to unifi.

I suppose that’s a good news to Digi and Digi subscribers of other plans. This Digi Infinite 150 Plan was never meant to be used like a fibre plan anyway. It is designed to court MaxisONE Plan 158, 188 and all the Celcom Postpaid plan priced at over RM150 subscribers to jump ship to Digi. And my only guess as to why Digi hasn’t withdrawn the Digi Infinite 150 from sale is because they have not reached their targeted sales target even close to 1 year. Many subscribers probably signed up for this plan and terminated soon after as the line is not good at their place (too bad for them). Offering a truly unlimited mobile data plan is currently still unviable as the 3 major South Korean telecom realized about 3 years ago. I suspect Digi will withdraw the Digi Infinite 150 from sale once they reach their sales target and have a stable pool of subscribers for this postpaid plan, but they may continue to offer Digi Infinite 100 with a capped speed like what the 3 South Korean telcos are doing now.
*
will digi let this i150 plan die off slowly , or will they fight back with reducing the price to i100 or even less with same truly unlimited data.

competition is tough, i guess umobile is only brave telco willing to offer Giler plans to counter attack.

b618 got better signal, speed, ping compare to e5186
*
What about B525?
Ok B618 can max out to 600mbps, but since B525 can max to 300mbps, how much faster is b618? I am sure digi i150 cant provide you any speed near that, not even close to 200mbps.

I know that B618 can do 4x4 mimo, but is digi supporting this already?

Yes.
I tested against E5168 and Netgear M1 since I owned them, speed and ping are better in B618.

What about volte support in b618? Anybody tested it working on digi 4g?

b618 is 4x4mimo, in terms of technical b618 receive signal strong vs others 4G+ cpe modem in the market.

speed promising. nah.... subjective too unless test on your area....

if your indoor signal reception is strong on b525, i bet b618 same performance only. if indoor signal not strong with b525, b618 is better.

i see user test with good rsrp <80. same speed on both modem not much variance interm of speed.

b525 cant VoLTE, b618-65 VoLTE support. i loving it of the VoLTE features.

i used b310, e5186. indoor signal is weak. b618 is a good choice to upgrade. even in 4G+ receiption area, the 4G+ signal are stronger and stable vs e5186.
*
Ok, noted, TQ.
Looks like clear advantage is only the volte support for b618.
Considering getting 1 from TM soon, provided the offer still available.

Another question, during volte calls on b618, will the internet speed drop? Cause b525 totally no internet during calls in 3G mode.... rclxub.gif

b525 almost same as e5186.. b618 got better signal reception.. if your area hv good signal & coverage... maybe got no different.. good signal can increase speed & ping unless congested..
netgear m1 & e5788 cat16 1gbps.. never got 200mbps.. hahaha
*
My indoor signal is 4 bars, sometimes 5 bars, max out.
But no speedtest diff whether 4 or 5 bars.
So I guess it depends on digi network quality n congestions, rather than devices specs...

If both using the same kind of phone than it could be a high possibility due to congestion on the Infinite network. I heard they are on a different network compared to the normal DiGi one.
*
Is it the diff APN settings? Or maybe all apn are the same , which apn are better for infinite plans?

What is currently the cheapest mifi i can get, looking around rm150? found huawei e5573 around rm120
*
I have tested the e5573 on digi i150, its very fast and stable. On 4g can reach 50mbps DL.
But battery only last less than 5hours.

Guys, anyone using D-Link DWM-222? Is any good USB 4g adapter with Digi?

The most cost efficient cheapest mifi is e5573.
Get the airtel brand , plenty of sellers. Works great on digi , and most telco. Performance is great too.
