Hey sifus!

I am in the midst of discussing and dealing with my ID. Straightforward, the issues I faced. All, especially ID and contractors are very much welcomed to provide an constructive opinion in any way possible! smile.gif

QUOTE
ISSUES

1. Already got the design
- however still felt like the one I was on the internet seems much classy, just that I don't know exactly to described in words.

2. Already inform the budget 50-60k
- however final quotation came almost double

3. I have to remember that, I still have to think about... :
- security grills
- curtains
- lamps
- fans
- airconds
- water heaters
- soft furniture
- electrical applicants
- CCTV
- automated gate

* probably another 20k+ here

QUOTE
An intro regarding the house ;
- 3 storey, Hyperlink
- 7 rooms and 7 bathrooms

QUOTE
The area that involved in ID are -
> enterence
> living hall
> dining hall
> dry kitchen
> wet kitchen
> 2 master bedrooms
> 2 wardrobe
> 1 entertainment hall
> 1 study hall

QUOTE
Quotation :

Simplified per floor :
Total of first floor : 30k+
Total of second floor : 20k+
Total of third floor : 20k+

Misc :
Canvas, protection etc : 1k
Plaster : 8k+
Painting work : 5k (include world map on 3rd floor - that one cost me almost 2k)
Tampered glass separating dry and wet kitchen : 1k
M&E works : 13k

Maybe, that's one of the plan, if other ID able to gave better quotation.

However I still keen to try to proceed with current ID first.

Hi...here is my opinion;

1. You should tell the designer your taste. Normally what i've been practice, i ask the owner how they wanted to be, for example, contemporary design, classic design, modern design, industrial design or very budget design. But then there is sometime the client ask us to suit with their home layout.

2. Budget may varies according to items the contractor proposed. Mostly the clients loved the custom furniture, facade, balustrade and etc2. Eye candy materials quite expensive, but there are some items cheap too.

3. Electrical appliances depends on market price. Most likely price is fixed and got little discount only. If bulk quantity, got discount more.

Care to share what is included in the quotation?

- U're only doing interior make over, or including tilings together with some modification on wall and segments?
- Is all materials to build inclusive in the BQ such as the curtain, the surface choice for the kitchen (quartz, solid surface etc), all light fitting and such?
- What is the proposed materials used for area such as feature walls and cabinet?

Would like to know your BQ as i also carry out reno and wish to compare a little

- NOT including tilings, wall modification and segment. But quotation did come with wall panel for both master bedroom which I decided to omit due to too expensive.
- NOT inclusive curtain
- surface for kitchen is plywood.
- fitting for all light quoted RM 860.00+
- lightbulb have to buy ourselves
- material for wall and cabinets melamine

Have to admit, you two are actually true. Its either raised the budget or lesser the expectation. I got that now.

I bought a 1.8M house and I am IDing to a max budget of 150k.

Some people will ask you to reno to certain expectation due to "save face" factor, but I say work towards whatever budget you have.

If 60k, then 60k it is- who cares what price you bought the house. (As long as you don't set 600k expectation on the 60k budget la)

From,
A guy who is getting quotes for 300-400k when I specify ask for ID and reno complete in 150k
