Let's assume that just before being ushered to the interview room, the job applicant is required to fill a job application form, which may contain a section on current employment (current job title, and current salary).

Going by your logic, can I leave this section blank? Leaving this section blank may not leave a good impression to the hiring manager, and HR manager conducting the interview.

Thank you very much for your helpful advice.  notworthy.gif

some company did mention that " incomplete information will not be processed".
So it is really up to you.

the assumption was that the form should be filled up PRIOR to being ushered to the interview room. who is going to process the application when the applicant is about to enter the interview room?

Pexco checks market for Malaysia jackup programme

MALAYSIA: Pexco Energy has issued a market survey into availability of a jackup for a drilling campaign offshore Sarawak.
The work scope covers one exploration well tentatively in third quarter 2018 on Block SK 302A, offshore Sarawak. The duration is estimated at around 30 to 45 days. The survey will close on 12 February. Among other things, the operator is looking for a jackup that has a water-depth rating of 450 ft (137 m); a minimum topdrive system of TDS-4, and 2,000 hp drawworks. The rig should also have a minimum accommodation capacity for 100 persons.

Petronas Carigali targets accelerating BoM project to 2018

MALAYSIA: Petronas Carigali is looking to bring forward its Business of Margin (BoM) project offshore Malaysai from 2019 to fourth quarter 2018.
The operator has ruled out the subsea wellhead concept and will now just proceed using a surface wellhead. The market survey issued in fourth quarter 2017 had originally considered development using a jackup via both options in water depths of between 35-75 m (115-248 ft) with measured well depth of up to 3,000 m (9,842 ft). Petronas Carigali is looking to drill a minimum of three BoM wells. The exact duration is currently uncertain as it will depend on the well results. In the earlier survey, it was specified that the surface BoM scope will require the rig to be on standby for four to six months to support extended well testing for each well plus P&A thereafter. However, depending on the final well number and schedule, it is possible the campaign may entail no standby period. The operator will probably issue a formal tender within the next few months.

Murphy checks again for deepwater rig off Malaysia

MALAYSIA: Murphy Oil is looking for a deepwater rig for a 2019-2020 exploration and development drilling campaign offshore Sarawak/Sabah.
It is understood the operator has received responses to a request for expressions of interest (EOI) that was issued earlier. The duration of the charter is estimated at five months plus two five-monthly options thereafter. Commencement is scheduled for the fourth quarter 2019. In 2017, the operator issued a similar market check for a drilling campaign in water depths between 1,100-1,500 m (3,609-4,921 ft) offshore Sabah/Sarawak. Then, the work scope was for an estimated duration of nine months with commencement between fourth quarter 2018 and first quarter 2019.

Petronas Carigali may have deepwater work offshore Malaysia in late 2018

MALAYSIA: Petronas Carigali may need a deepwater rig for potential short-term work offshore Malaysia later this year.
The operator could need a rig that can operate in water depths of around 1,300 m (4,264 ft). If the demand goes through, commencement will be some time in the fourth quarter.

Saka Indonesia to inspect jackups offered in tender

INDONESIA: Saka Indonesia has notified bidders it is ready to inspect the jackups submitted in the retender for a requirement off Indonesia.
It is understood the operator has scheduled to inspect the rigs in mid-February. Saka has three bidders proposing four jackups. UMW Drilling offered UMW Naga 2 and UMW Naga 6, Japan Drilling proposed Hakuryu-11 and COSL Indo bid COSLPower. Saka plans to open the priced bids on 23 February with results released on 26 February and winner named on 1 March. The operator plans to drill one firm well plus three option wells, with an estimated first spud date of April. The rig will be required to operate in areas including the Makassar Strait, offshore East Java, and Aru Sea in water depths ranging from 10-100 m (33-328 ft). The contract will carry a minimum local content requirement of 35%.

Dont bother cheap hotel at Sungai Rengit area. Too dirty.

KUALA LUMPUR: Property and power company Mudajaya Group Bhd has filed a writ of summons and statement of claim in the Shah Alam High Court against a former employee of its unit Mudajaya Corporation Bhd.

It told Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday the suit against the ex-staff was for breach of fiduciary duty and/or breach of trust.

“The management of Mudajaya was of the opinion that should Mudajaya Corporation succeeds in the suit, it will have a positive impact to the financial position of Mudajaya Group in the current financial year ending Dec 31, 2018,” it said.

To recap, in March 2015, Mudajaya reported its internal management working group had found “some irregular transactions” that increased the costs of a project.

On instructions of the board, the working group conducted a comprehensive review of additional costs incurred on a specific project undertaken by the group which was included in its fourth quarter (Q4) 2014 report announced on Feb 27.

For Q4 ended Dec 31, 2014, Mudajaya announced a net loss of RM99.71mil on turnover of RM188.74mil, compared to a net profit of RM22.9mil a year ago.

Mudajaya on March 20 of 2015, it announced that an internal management working group had revealed an isolated case of irregular transactions in one project involving a former employee and had engaged forensic accountants KPMG to conduct a follow-through investigation.

Later in June that year, KPMG’s forensic audit of Mudajaya Group found evidence of breaches of duties and obligations and inappropriate conduct.

KPMG had found “evidence to suggest, on a prima facie (first glance) basis, that there have been breaches of duties and obligations and inappropriate conduct.”

“The findings of the investigation suggested that the irregular transactions were the conduct of a former employee and did not reveal any clear evidence of collaborated fraud,” said the construction firm and power plant operator.

“The board had earlier lodged reports with the relevant authorities and will assess initiating legal proceedings where appropriate. The board has been advised to keep confidential the details of the report and the nature of such proceedings so as not to adversely affect the investigation by the relevant authorities,” it said.

The KPMG report also confirmed that all financial impact to the group had been adequately accounted for and no additional provisions were required to be made.

Is it a norm in this industry that the client openly express their outrage towards their under performing contractor with insulting words openly via mail & cc to others for view?

Yes. That's why contractors need to have super duper thick skin in order to survive in oil & gas industry.
