actually the shoes here are not bad ay. i got my basketball shoe for quite a good deal. Well, if you are talking about sandals, its quite pricey here but other than that, shoes price are generally ok in auckland. OK as in only valid for factory outlets...

Jandals are actually the Japanese slippers type of sandals. You know, short for Japanese sandals.

Ya, shoes are cheaper in Malaysia. Unless you're buying chiplak brand (price comparable to Power or cheaper) or buying on a really good discount. I got my Addidas running shoes for $50 last year.

sometimes not about price..
the thing is.. so regret.. bcoz at cheaper price.. i can get the same quality in msia.. sweat.gif if only they allow 30kg.. sure i bring all my shoes..

the same quality in msia.. but with double the price..

and also.. for those coming here.. especially muslim.. train ur self to eat Mcdonalds fillet o fish.. that gonna be ur fast food here.. and also.. ready $.040 for the sauce.. sweat.gif
in fact.. u must train to eat frozen fish fillet as ur quick food..
hahha i found halal burger here.. imported from indonesia...

if pizza hut.. u can ask for mushroom only pizza.. got fish pizza or not eyh?
but dont let them divide the pizza.. divide it urself.. thats the tip for pizza..

else like cake, ice cream, look out for Gelatin.. emulsifier is ok..
if wanna buy flavoured stuff, like instant mee, potato chips.. buy the vege one.. like onion, if maggi, at my place got fantastic instant mee.. it's halal.. and also got asian shop sells indo mee, import from either msia or insia. 50 cent each.. sweat.gif things gonna be better if ur place got asian shop, especially if the stuff imported from msia.. in christchurch, got 3 shops by sarawakian..
so,, stuff like chicken stock not that big problem.. unless they run out of stock.. need to wait a month to reload stock sweat.gif

Not really mate, i got my and1 shoe for $100. Not that bad considering I saw a similar pair in one of those KL shops for RM250. Well, i bought mine in factory outlet. I guess its not that cheap in Wellington ay? Recently, there are sales in Nike shop, quite cheap too but Nike shoes are too over rated....

Besides, how are you gonna carry the bulk of those shoes. That shoes eat spaces.... btw, do you play basketball?

btw.. anyone knows where can but book online??
http://www.fishpond.co.nz/ << is this service reliable??

Been reading through this thread and saw this question unanswered. So to answer your question Fantagero, yes its reliable. Used it since 2005 and so far no problems yet with the service unless your stuff get lost in the post. But, if you used courier instead of normal nz mail, then you would be fine although the stuff can be a bit pricey compared to normal retailers.

I brought my Adidas basketball shoes here, didn't pack much, but I guess it was sufficient. I play lots of basketball here, but apparently I'm not physically strong enough to play with the players here. Gym time!

Mid trimester holiday is just 2 weeks away, maybe going to Auckland

yea, same here. lots of players just don't have the time. need to climb up my mountain of assignments.

Nothing much in Auckland really if you don't have a car. The public transport here sucks. Last Friday, they have Sammy Cheng's concert. Not much events going out either. Most people just get drunk and club, club and club..... and club....

If you're coming, try bungee jumping and sky diving. If you are not that adventurous, go to Waiheke Island... just grab the brochure in visitor's info lol...

That probably applies to the whole of NZ. Doesn't leave much for people who simply don't enjoy clubbing.

Just finished my Spanish test, it was hell really, not enough time to complete.

I'm renting a car to Auckland, probably to meet with some friends before going to somewhere like rotorua, when's ur break?

Well, not that I don't club, it's just that I'm not that keen to get drunk. tongue.gif

Nz's the best place if you do somehow decide to study law. You want those long and cold nights when you're reading up on all those cases.

On a more random note, how was Earth Hour in CHC?
