no problem with starting in the 2nd sem.
take summer school and cover whatever u've missed out .
if it still doesnt suffice, take an extra subject on the following sem1
dont worry about cramming more subject in your firsts years, its darn easy

you will be accepted for any course as long as you meet the required marks respectively, regardless of Alevels or SAM

SAM would be cheaper and faster to complete.
