Most courses in NZ universities are open entry - ie you only need basic high school/pre-u qualifications to get in.

Easy to get in, harder to get out with a degree. Plenty of people leave without a degree/take far longer than they should to graduate.

The fact that we international students are not being sponsored by the government is the main reason why we have to pay more, I envy the Germans as well, those  German international who are doing post grad studies are sponsored by the New Zealand Government, an arrangement between the countries, I think the French has this kind of priority as well

Hey there. I kind of need help. I was wondering what things should I declare before going to New Zealand? Is it necessary to declare all electrical goods such as camera, handphone, batteries and also the normal shoes I wear (not  hiking ones) and also liquids (shampoo/shower creme/toothpaste/etc) ?

Just arrived here last two weeks from Malaysia...well,it's already autumn here,so it's cold and windy.

So u felt like that when u first came here? Well, at least I know i'm not alone...lol so do u still miss malaysia? planning to settle in nz or go bak to msia?

Well, at the very least come back to Malaysia and contribute. Not everyone who goes overseas to study leaves with the intent to permanently settle down there, through that is becoming the norm.

I meant afta I get my PR status. As i mentioned i will be getting pr before i graduate coz parents hav applied under skilled migrant category and cleared the medicals alredi. will hav the decision by end of april-may. but wad i wanna know is how do i get the indefinite visa?

He's got a NZ PR. Hence domestic fees, cheap education, and a laissez-faire attitude.

part time job.. not sure bout otago, specifically dunedin, but here in canterbury, quite ok.
