yes, nz has the strange distinction of accepting student from ncea level 2 directly into non-critical courses in uni.......and for schools offering the cie a-levels, the equivalent is as results........

QUOTE(booooster @ Feb 5 2009, 10:54 PM) I would think the first thing is to find out what qualifications you have, find a course that you want, then look at universities, NOT migration!Don't run before you can crawl. Last time I checked it was the Studying in New Zealand thread, not the Migrating to New Zealand thread. |

Do your own research, decide and apply by yourself. It's not hard to find out stuff these days with the internet.i'm really interested and is there any place or agents in the web where i can start? thanx For a start try this http://www.studyingnewzealand.com/ |

QUOTE(fender @ Feb 8 2009, 02:56 PM) I don't believe in rankings, as they are irrelevant in the context of undergraduates. But a simple search would reveal a discussion in this thread. My advice: go to any NZ university that accepts you. Other factors such as cost of living, cost of fees, accessibility etc are more important than perceived standing. This post has been edited by haya: Feb 8 2009, 04:40 PM |

QUOTE(wornbook @ Jan 18 2009, 09:47 AM) Most courses in NZ universities are open entry - ie you only need basic high school/pre-u qualifications to get in. its like a money making trap. Easy to get in, harder to get out with a degree. Plenty of people leave without a degree/take far longer than they should to graduate. Added on February 18, 2009, 12:01 am QUOTE(lilredridinghood @ Dec 26 2008, 10:33 PM) The fact that we international students are not being sponsored by the government is the main reason why we have to pay more, I envy the Germans as well, those German international who are doing post grad studies are sponsored by the New Zealand Government, an arrangement between the countries, I think the French has this kind of priority as well yes is true.QUOTE(fantagero @ Feb 2 2009, 04:19 PM) maybe more like sagregationThis post has been edited by EmperorMeng: Feb 18 2009, 12:01 AM |

QUOTE(EmperorMeng @ Feb 17 2009, 11:58 PM) Yes, but the segregation is partially due to discriminatory policies. When you have a group of people who literary don't speak each others language, how do you expect them to communicate? When they have different outlooks, it is hard to find common ground of understanding. So why don't they speak each others language? Because each segment thinks its language is the best, and only that language should be used, with no regard for the changing reality of the globalised age. Why do they have different outlook's? Because there is a segment of society with their shrill cries of "Its our culture!" everytime a change for the better is initiated. |

Hey,
I desperately need some help! I'm thinking of doing an undergraduate exchange with University of Auckland but encountered some problems. I heard the normal course load there is 60 points per semester, but is there any maximum points I can take per semester? Also, if I will be going over there for semester 2 can I also register for subjects available in 4th quarter? Because I noticed business administrative courses are only available in quarters not semesters, why? Can I as an undergraduate do Business Administrative courses? Are they graduate program courses? And does anyone have any idea about the law-commercial courses offered in University of Auckland? Is there any criteria to be able to take those courses when I'm on exchange? Because there are a number of courses I saw which stated that PGCLL and MLS students please contact the Postgraduate Student Adviser at Law School for approval, what is PGCLL and MLS? Also, there's this one course called Commercial Arbitration & Dispute Resolution that has class dates from 5th to 7th, 10th to 11th Aug 2009 only and the stated meeting days are mon to fri 9am to 430pm. Is this course a project or are there classes? How can anyone take this course since it'll definitely clash with your other subjects? I need to state my decision whether I would like to do an exchange over at University of Auckland by today so anyone have any advice please please please reply. I'll greatly appreciate your help! Thanks. JaCy |
