Most courses in NZ universities are open entry - ie you only need basic high school/pre-u qualifications to get in.

Easy to get in, harder to get out with a degree. Plenty of people leave without a degree/take far longer than they should to graduate.

Just out of curiosity, what did you do for university entry?

yes, nz has the strange distinction of accepting student from ncea level 2 directly into non-critical courses in uni.......and for schools offering the cie a-levels, the equivalent is as results........

I desperately need some help! I'm thinking of doing an undergraduate exchange with University of Auckland but encountered some problems. I heard the normal course load there is 60 points per semester, but is there any maximum points I can take per semester? Also, if I will be going over there for semester 2 can I also register for subjects available in 4th quarter? Because I noticed business administrative courses are only available in quarters not semesters, why? Can I as an undergraduate do Business Administrative courses? Are they graduate program courses?

And does anyone have any idea about the law-commercial courses offered in University of Auckland? Is there any criteria to be able to take those courses when I'm on exchange? Because there are a number of courses I saw which stated that PGCLL and MLS students please contact the Postgraduate Student Adviser at Law School for approval, what is PGCLL and MLS? Also, there's this one course called Commercial Arbitration & Dispute Resolution that has class dates from 5th to 7th, 10th to 11th Aug 2009 only and the stated meeting days are mon to fri 9am to 430pm. Is this course a project or are there classes? How can anyone take this course since it'll definitely clash with your other subjects?

I need to state my decision whether I would like to do an exchange over at University of Auckland by today so anyone have any advice please please please reply. I'll greatly appreciate your help! Thanks.

Are u a pr with indefinite visa?  im actually planning to migrate to nz, though i might get my pr before i finish studies coz parents are currently under consideration for skilled migrant category. nope i havent yet. Going in there in April for the Easter holidays.... im thinking along the same lines as well....ie to do my post-grad in malaysia. (probably monash sunway)

if im not mistaken, there is a minimum staying period after landing into nz , that you and ur family should stay in nz.
it should be around 6 months the last i recall.
