Hmm, I was looking around for KDK and Panasonic, but I guess not these?

It is. They are also called baby fans for having short blade and short necks made specifically to suit low ceilings. Other brands may carry the same type.

Baby fans like the Panasonic are 25cm from ceiling to pcb board cover.

hi
my ceiling for a old terrace house is 8.5feet after completing plasterceiling etc.

should i still go for a ceiling fan or no?
I like ceiling fan as it is more cooling compared to a normal standing fan.

my unit is 8.7 ft... i installed 5 ceiling fans, normal bayu 4 /5 series... never regret..

by the way i am 190cm tall... never a problem easy to clean the fan...

yea wall fan should be good

The problem with wall fan and those baby ceiling fans is the cooling capacity is not as good as a ceiling fan.

A larger ceiling fan like 56" or 60" can circulate air better.

On the same item, need some advices as well. I have a 10 ft ceiling in condo, and let's say after plaster ceiling it is around 9 - 9.5 ft (using 6 inch downlights).

1. Any ways to make my ceiling look higher? Planning to do a plain flat plaster ceiling now. or is it more advisable to do plaster ceiling on the sides for the 4 downlights?
2. If I proceed with flat plaster ceiling, will it be okay for me to install the ceiling fan? Will it be too low? Planning to get Panasonic Bayu 5 blades....

Thanks ahead for your comments!!

Don't go for flat plaster ceiling. You can box up some areas and it will look higher.

Anyway, 9 - 9.5 ft ceiling can still install ceiling fan. If you're still worried, then go for the short pipe version.

Yea trying my best to adjust the boxes, coz the original ceiling looks weird with many levels, now need to make it equal @.@

Want to maintain a 9ft ceiling also hard. @.@

For an area of 14ft x 14ft, will a 4-blade fan be sufficient? Or is 5-blade fan better?

You're not alone. Fortunately, KDK produced a guide specifically here for ceiling fans.

Actually I feel the size of the fan is more important.

Use bigger diameter fan for bigger size room.

For example, I have a room that is 14' x 16' but only using a 3-blade fan. Difference is this fan is 70" diameter and the coverage is very good for my room.
