No way it's a fresh install of windows XP on a C2D system. been using those software for months without any prob. Delete first, notify later = I don't think that's professional.

This is one of the main disadvantage of N360. In fact it was highly talk about in other security forums.

Added: Well, everything is fine after scan etc, but the thing is, i duno is it the internet line a little sluggish by tmnut or it's cause by N360. I felt surfing a little slow and downloading from rapidshare is worst. Only bout 3-5kbps only. B4 that i was getting 50-70kbps. Hmm, maybe lot ppl downloading or duno because of N360.. hmm.gif

I'm kinda sure it is caused by N360 since I'm experiencing the same prob. Connection was still quite fine before installation but after installation, my HTTP download speed dropped and there were frequent timed outs. cry.gif

There were other users complaining about sluggish connection after installing N360 in Expert-Exchange website sweat.gif

Yeah, true.. My internet connection become real sluggish and often timeout. Darn. Bought a product that cost me more trouble. My start up become real slow too. B4 i instal N360, when i key in my password in welcome login, it will straight go to welcome and enter window. But now it will stuck at the welcome screen for 5-8 seconds, then the whole screen black out for 3-5 seconds only then it will log into my desktop. AGRHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! vmad.gif

Btw, Norton 360 have slow down my internet connection and boot up time. One of a forrumer tested N360 boot up time with his stop watch.

Norton 360 have added about 11 seconds to the boot time (from the bios to fully usable Windows = 58 sec (vs. 47 sec without Norton)

A bit regret buying N360 liau. doh.gif Last time was using AVG. Dun have this porblem. cry.gif

Come to think of it why is it call Norton 360? hmm.gif It mean back to square. Like that fist Norton found virus, then norton clean it. After clean it virus appeared back again =360. As compliment Norton 360 give u slow internet. doh.gif (thus making virus a little slower to spread...)

N360 means complete solution taking care of your system performance and security and backup which are key items all PC will need .
Anyway looks like N360 is still a disappointing product. I guess we will have to wait for the new corporate edition to see if they can live to their brand name. hmm.gif

I've tried it, slowed down my pc horribly. Rite now I'm testing Norton Internet Security 2007, much better than Norton 360.

I dun think so. NIS 2007 is the most resource hog while N360 is very lite..

Darn, i thought this thread was dead.

Should have read it before buying.

2 late though.....Just bought Norton 360.

I'll post my feedback at the end of the week.

So far, I think this is a very light and simple program and most power users will most likely not be happy with this.

Then again, these restrictions will most probably cater to the novice users who prefer to have their antivirus and firewall automated.

Worse comes to worst, there's still the "60 Days Return Policy"

Any1 tried returning their product before?

All rites,

After 9 days, I can safely say that I DONT like this product.

But I dont think it is as bad as what the others before me say it was,

From my point of view, this suite's rather simple.
Not recommended for intermediate or pro users who want to tweak and run their antivirus suites to suit their needs.

The antivirus scanner's VERY disappointing, no option to scan individual files or folders, you'll have to run a full scan instead.
No scheduling!

The firewall's also quite limited, I couldn't add new program profiles like what I used to do in Norton Internet Security (NIS) so I'll have to hope that Norton 360 (N360) detects the program connecting to the internet and offer me the choice of allowing or blocking it, else, the program will just not connect to the internet. I also had problems specifying trusted IP addresses within my own network. Once again, if N360 doesnt detect it, the IP will just be blocked.

Never really had any opportunity to have the anti-phising feature tested.

The backup feature's a joke, I had disabled during my entire week of use.

So.......I'll most probably return this product. Lesson learnt; dont totally trust online reviews, even if it's from CNET, PCPro or PCWorld....Always read the user comments as well. And....no matter how tempting the 3 user license sounds.......RESIST IT.....it's a marketing gimmick.

PROS:

- If you're a total computing noob, then you should get it. Or you could get it for your 45+ year old uncles or aunts or even your grandpa or grandma who uses a PC

- Doesnt consume as much resource compared to NIS07, in my opinion.

- It's an install and forget application, everything is done in background and it doesnt really get in your face.

- Nice box tongue.gif

- Nice and simple looking user interface. Great for uncles and aunties.

CONS:

- SAD Antivirus scanner.

- Firewall with limited settings

- Crappy backup

And now......
U know.
