Just look for 'LockFolders' or something like that name in google. It is also freeware. It's called 'Lock' something but I can't rememeber.

Please don't talk about illegal software here. You will get flamed.

Please post the specs of the computer and refer to one of the threads about lagging in Vista. Go to this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/584292. Read post 9 by Xbox 360. Great info there.

sIkuA]In Vista x64, any driver that is not properly signed will not work. In 32bit you can ignore it, but in 64bit mode, it will not work at all

are you sure dude? there is always a workaround if you do a simple search in google:

I think he meant they don't work officially and I doubt it works in SP1. Just my 2 cents. icon_rolleyes.gif

if you are buying a new PC, then you will be able to get OEM, either 32 or 64 bit.

if you are installing on an existing PC, then you can only obtain the retail, which comes in both 32 & 64 bit.
*
Nope, you can buy OEM and install on an existing PC, not sure whether that is legal or illegal. tongue.gif

You're better off with an OEM license on a laptop. Cheaper plus laptop's don't get their insides changes often if at all.

Agree with you. icon_rolleyes.gif

pls ask ur friend to get his fact rit... if like wat he say then everytime i format i need to buy a new Vista...

by old i presume u mean Vista pre-SP1 (or Vista Gold to be correct)???

u juz need to update to SP1 and that's all...

SP1 is nothing big, really, it mainly contains all the hotfixes and patches released by MS since day 1 of Vista...
*
What's Vista Gold? There's no "pre-SP1".

hi..my sister is planning to buy a desktop pc for her shop.does the desktop need to be installed with vista business or would home basic suffice and can a desktop pc used for business purposes use home basic?(this is mainly a question regarding licensing issue rather than compatibility)
*
There's no problem regarding licensing issues. You can use Home Basic/Home Premium/Business/Ultimate/Enterprise/32-Bit/64-Bit/OEM/Retail on any computer in her shop. I'd recommend that she use Home Basic 32-Bit OEM for a no frills experience of Vista.

Can i purchase one unit Original Windows Vista Home Premium and uses on two different pc?
*
Nope, you can't use a single-licensed/single-user Windows XP/Vista, OEM/Retail simultaneously legally on 2 or more PCs.
