Why would you need to use Windows Vista Ultimate when Windows Vista Home Premium is enough? Save up your money for other stuff.

Right, why need to spend more money on Ultimate while Home Premium is enough, better use that extra money to buy something else... biggrin.gif

FarCry3r - I'm using XP Home, when I password the log in, my kid still can use the PC as guest. Was told to upgrade it to XP pro to prevent this from happening. But I'm looking at a new system, so which vista should I choose that is more secure and prevent unauthorized log in.
BTW I will have adobe CS4 with Premiere Pro CS4 install into the new system so should I pick a 64 bit OS?

Vista home premium is good enough
32 bit vista can already run Premiere pro fine, but if you're looking for future proof, 64bit is also a good choice.

If you didn't want them to login, why don't you disable Guest account altogether? If you're installing Adobe Premiere CS4, it is recommended to get Windows Vista 64-bit, as you might have problem with insufficient RAM on 32-bit, since video authoring softwares are resource hungry one.

Sorry OT a bit, How do you disable the guest account altogether in XP Home? How come the guest account has admin rights also?

Do I also have to disable Guest account in Vista home premium?

Follow this guide to disable Guest account in Windows XP Home/Pro. Guest account shouldn't have any admin rights.

From your screenshot, Firefox is using 84% of CPU, and compared from another small % from system applications, it's sure 100%. Seems like it's your Firefox problem, since it's using the most of the CPU cycle.

As of now, there is none. The only one who qualifies for free upgrades are those who buy Windows Vista with new desktop/laptop from OEM from June 2009 and onward. Still, we need to wait for the marketing team for the final decision.

i have a compaq notebook comes with OEM Vista Home Premium licence, however i don't have the original installation disc because it only comes with a recovery partition(can be burned into recovery disc).

my question is, is it possible to use an ahem version of Vista disc to install the OS then put in my Ori serial number?
