SP1 can't be integrated with the Vista disc, at least with the point-and-click ease of nLite used to give with XP and SP2.

vLite 1.1.6 RC can slipstream SP1 liao... I already have my Vista x86/x64 with SP1, still, would love to have a copy of mr. linkinstreet Vista SP1 on the Heroes event... whistling.gif

It didn't work well enough on almost all of my existing older PC's probably due drivers and higher hardware spec needed.

what license key to use trading business? Use the $5 cd license keys?
My temp staff all is waiting be 20K richer very soon.
*
I'm not quite understand, first you say you already have vista business license then you said cannot do clean install because higher hardware spec needed. how come xp hardware spec is higher than vista? hmm.gif

Perhaps you should read his post again, what he really meant was that the Vista don't work well on his current computers because the specs aren't good enough for Vista and therefore he would like to downgrade it.
*
ahhh... thanks for clearing up my confusion lol. what the spec? I have P4 1.7GHz with 128MB of RAM that can run XP Pro SP3 + Kaspersky 6 Workstation... whistling.gif

sIkuA]In Vista x64, any driver that is not properly signed will not work. In 32bit you can ignore it, but in 64bit mode, it will not work at all

are you sure dude? there is always a workaround if you do a simple search in google:

Nope, you can buy OEM and install on an existing PC, not sure whether that is legal or illegal. tongue.gif
*
If for WinXP, it's legal to install OEM on existing PC, but for Vista... hmmm... not really sure since Vista uses XRML licensing and also check your BIOS for valid OEM BIOS info...

you can change the default view for all folder. to make all folder view icons in Tiles, do these:
QUOTE
1 - Close any Explorer folder
2 - Open one folder that have Tiles view
3 - Go to menu Tools -> Folder Options...
4 - On the View tab, click the Apply to Folders button
5 - Click Apply button at the bottom and click OK button to close the dialog box
6 - Next time you open any folder, it will be shown in Tiles view, hurrah!! rclxm9.gif

hi im new here..anyone knows if is there any version of visual basic that compatible with vista?? i've searched it but i guess really need ur help snce im noob~huu rclxub.gif
*
what version of Visual Basic do you need? If you want full compatibility, get Visual Studio 2008. Visual Studio 2005 needs Service Pack 1 installed for Vista compatibility. Visual Studio 2002/2003 is not compatible with Vista. Visual Basic 6.0 is not compatible with Vista but I can get it running on Vista SP1 without problem except Aero glass theme problem...

After updated to SP1, i though we can fully make used of our 4GB of RAM already.
But ...
[attachmentid=522239]

So, do I actually need 64bits version of Vista so that I can fully utilize those RAMs?

P/s: Sorry if the question already answered before.
*
the question is already answered before. and yes, you'll need 64-bit proc to utilize the full 4gb RAM or use the /PAE switch on 32-bit Vista (wikipedia.org for more info)...

astria, thanks for the reply. Its quite tempting about such a large amount of RAM for 64 bits.. Thinking to get another 2GB/4GB kit now tongue.gif I'm so poisoned. BTW, is 4GB of RAM considered a minimum OR perfect OR alot for a x64?
And what is WOW64? Does it solve the compatibility issues for 32bits programs?
*
4GB is considered OK for 64-bit system. But if you're running some heavy 3d applications, video encoding or CAD/CAM apps, the more RAM you have the merrier rclxm9.gif

WOW64 is used to emulate 32-bit applications running on 64-bit OS, so it does solve the compatibility issues for almost all 32-bit applications. However, running 64-bit applications would be faster as it support 64-bit instructions natively...

I see. FarCry3r, what do you think of x86 one? I'm still a student though. My rig for gaming. Not doing any video encoding stuff etc etc.
*
then 32-bit is enough. Get 512mb GC and 3GB of RAM is sufficient for your gaming need. No need for 64-bit, really...

If your DVD drive is OK, then sure your Vista DVD is corrupted. Try getting new Vista installation disc...
