I would like to go for the ferrets talk too...actually it was my first option before getting SG as a pet....but cannot find... will see if i can get away from work for this....

you are not the only one....my hubby now complains because of Gollum around then only we have so many varieties of fruits in the house....Gollum don't like the fruits then only we get to eat.....but he was the one that ask me to get a female baby...ahhah...

It is like that lah.....especially we are the new to having a SG....we will do anything for them...ehehhe....i pun spoiled my Gollum until now he just sit and wait for me to bring the food to him...ahhahhaha

Anyway...finally i get to get on line...so busy lately...with 2 more SG.

I actually adopted from TarePanda....1 male and 1 female...( frodo and eowyn)....they are quiet tame but a bit aggressive as in active.....

I was surprised how Gollum is so cool with having 2 more new friends in his new big cage...but anyway..i will be picking up a much bigger cage over the weekend as i need to use my truck to transport it.....

On their first night... i stayed up really late just to make sure they are okay...and a few crabing here and there but up till 4am...they were okay...althought they didn't play together but they all stay away from each other but i pampered them one by one by feeding them crickets and worm....i think Frodo and Eowyn never eaten cricket before and they really take their time eating it...

Then about 6am...my husband woke up and heard one of them barking....hmm....not too sure what was it about as i was tired and couldn't wake up at all until 9am...hahha...but their timing is so different from Gollum..Gollum sleeps very early around 8am where by they both still awake..

On Second night....it was an interesting sight for me....Gollum as usual up early around 11.pm..whereby the other 2 were sleeping...then I fed a bit to Gollum and he went into the other pouch where the other 2 were sleeping....i was worried at first but they didn't make any sound at all and all 3 of them were sleeping togehter.... .....

Anyway..the female hiss alot...any idea...althought i have not seen any fighting yet...and Gollum seems to be okay with the other male...they were smelling each other when i was feeding them worms....

Frodo and Eowyn is about 1 and a half years old if i am not mistaken as they are still small and Frodo head is still not balding yet..just a bit only..not obvious..so sometimes i mistaken Frodo is the female....

Will try take picture over this weekend and show you guys.....I just can't get enough of them.....need to get more supplies...

KP: Thanks for the info.....still trying to figure out what it means but glad they are not fighting ...Gollum seems to be very gentle....even when i am feeding them....

Anyway, picked up the huge cage.....Gollum must be very happy to have a bigger space now as I believe he never had that kind of space to run around....

Anyway, I picked up the cage on Sunday and have to wash first at my parent's house before i bring it back to my apartment.....it is 180cm tall.....Gollum, Frodo and Eowyn had trouble getting use with the big cage last night......hehehe.....hissing here and there.....must be calling each other.....

It is indeed. I was very impressed with Frodo and Eowyn's previous owner with his effort of doing the cage. Using cable tied and pvc mesh. Quite stable. But I would recommend to have it lean at the back on the wall instead of of stand alone. I have my coconut screwed on the pvc mesh..very stable...the sleeping pouch hang on the mesh also no problem...the water bottles and stuff also can be hang on ...

the pvc mesh is quiet strong....

I am now looking to find eucalyptus tree...I was told we can request to order from those plant nursery shop..thinking to put the tree there..hehehe.....

Will take close up picture tonight on the door...quite interesting how he DIY using sticks and stuff...but I am looking to get proper hinges soon once I am free to drop by those DIY shop....

Really...I didn't know the pvc mesh is expensive...guess I really got a good deal from the previous owner.....the metal frame is from those clothes hanging cabinet type that you can buy from hypermarket with cover.....was a bit rusted on the bottom part....i believe the SG must have pee on it...ahhaha....too acidic...anyway..i had it resprayed with anti rust (those they use for car undercarriage one)...then dry it up and have it all tape up and also with the bedding over it...ehehe... so that they won't go near there...

not too sure how much will it cost...but will ask a friend to check it out for me as he is dealing with plants...ehhehe...

Yeah..the joining part is a bit crocked when we transport it as my truck trunk space not big enough also to fit the whole thing....but it can be easily adjusted and have it tape properly after that....

I wanted to cut out the cable ties but my husband said it might have sharp edges...so said leave it as it is....

You serious..they have it at lake garden...eheheh...let's go.....

Actually Gollum, Frodo and Eowyn is now sleeping together in the sleeping pouch liao...which is much smaller than the bonding pouch...haha...

Will check and let you guys know....

Yeah loh....will probably need your help to make another sleeping pouch for me ....same size as the bonding pouch.....let me know once you are ready to take order.....

Frodo and Eowyn is still very shy....they will only come out to makan or else wil be hiding in the coconut .....here's a picture i managed to snap last night.....

Eowyn(female) seems to be very active and hungry all the time..compared to Frodo and Gollum....is it common for female to be more active and hungry than the male???

huh.....don't lah scare me.....last night i had to take out the sleeping pouch as it was getting a bit too smelly..so i left my t-shirt there and 2 coconut ....

This morning...Gollum and Frodo were sleeping in the coconut together where Eowyn(female) sleeping alone in the t-shirt....

Hahah.....no way Gollum so "ahem"....anyway....will slowly monitor...

One thing i noticed....Gollum still as cool as he is....Frodo is slowly behaving like Gollum...and Eowyn is always the one wake up first and makan first....She also makes a lot of noise like hissing and barking....she barks a lot at night by herself...like she sees something....

jason_killer : I did travel with my Gollum in the pouch when we are in the car...then when check in hotel..I just let Gollum out roam around the hotel room......leave my smelly t shirt near the pouch and some food and water..... .... or you can buy those laundry basket.....foldable ones...i got mine from ACE hardware for RM 5 i think.....easy to carry around also....

ColdFusionPower: will try to get picture with the door open....will need your advice if you have a more neater way of doing it...as i really don't like the current design..haha....a lot of section to buka to open the door....


Here's some i found on the net of the frame you can look for....ikea one a bit expensive but wooden loh...should be more stable...as compared to the PVC tubes frame from the storage wardrobe cabinet....

I have seen they have in pvc tubes before....abit fragile if it is being use for clothes hanging....but should be suitable as a cage.....will see if i spot any for sale around my area....

then again...maybe that's why they now use steel pipes because the pvc tubes not strong???
