I think it is adviseable to send it to the vet to check it out. I think Yeoh Veterinary at Taman Megah should be able to help take a look at it.

He managed to heal my little star tortoise last time.

Try get a baby sugar glider - at least 2 months plus old. Too small may be too risky to handle.

Baby sugar glider will bond with you faster. And make sure you spend lots of time with them. If you can, try get hold some bonding pouches. You can order it from krynzpeaches. She makes really good pouches.

And also food mix will be from crazymouse. Take the fruit mix first. It is one of the most popular ones among the sugar glider.

As for where to get it, I have no idea who is a good breeder or not. As all my glider when i took them are all already adult liao. So it takes quiet a bit of time to bond with them.

All the best in your glider search. Do ask any question on the breeder that you had heard of and check with the forumers here. Some of them maybe able to help you.

Just want to share with you guys on what I had been going through for the past 2 weeks....had been so busy that I have had no time to drop by the forum.

Anyway, after I got back from a trip. I noticed Frodo's diarrhoea problem came back with his penis sticking out... ....it was a real headache for me as he dirty the other 2 of them...so i had to clean all 3 of them....and also the big spring cleaning of the cage....

I was starting to worry as his diarrhoea could be a serious problem. I kept thinking back what did I feed that could cause the problem. The funny thing is my other 2 glider is okay except for Frodo. So I took Hun's advice last time and stop feeding them fruits and give boiled sweet potato and boiled pumpkin.

But after 3 days later, Frodo seems to eat less , like 4 worms and he stops eating ( i guess he has uncontrollable diarrhoea).....Therefore I decided to take him straight to the vet the next day.

Dr. Yeoh at Taman Megah. They took some sample of his "wet-poo-poo" and found it is just a normal diarrhoea... ...but his penis being sticked out was a headahe. I was telling them he is probably having UTI too as he hisses a lot when he pee. So they tried to retract his penis back to see whether it will stay in there or not......poor frodo going through all the stresses...but he was a brave little glider..no crabbing at all....just struggle a bit....took a couple of tries to retract back but he diarrhoea again after that..and his penis extract out again.... .......so they had no choice but to really push it back again this time and he started crabbing...... ......i really want to cry seeing him suffering but i had no choice.....have to leave it to the doctor to check on him...

So finally they gave me some medications for the diarrhoea......it has been almost been a week already....after constant cleaning his backside, feeding frodo the medications they gave, mealworms, boiled sweet potato, boiled pumpkin, boiled carrot as his daily diet.

I am glad last night his appetite picks up...and this morning too....asking for more mealworms... and his diarrhoea seems to have gotten down a bit...but still there.... .....

I hope he will be better for the next few days....

Can anyone invent diapper for sugar glider.....???

his appetite had picked up very well especailly on mealworms, at least 10 or more day... and i noticed he has been drinking more water too...but his body still look very weak...but still very very active with his black colour backside... ....

still got a bit of diarhoea......will monitor him more till end of this week and see how's his progress...luckily he is not fussy with the medication from the doctor...he seems to take it very well....and easy to feed him with just a drop of the medication. ...what a good boy...

Yeah...he is such a good boy....I just have to hold him and point the bottle and drop the medicine near his mouth...he will then quickly lick it....yum.... ..... the medicine could be sweet....

Just a little update on Frodo.....he seems to be really okay now...still a bit more diarrhoe but I think he pretty much clean up himself this time....hardly see any black stuff stuck at his butt......

It has been such a regular routine for me to take him out and dump his backside in a bowl of warm water to clean his backside...he is now so used to it....he will just hold on the edge of the bowl and let me clean.....what a good boy.....

FRODO is now in perfect health condition!.....

Just want to update with you on my 3rd week on FRODO's health. Thanks to Hun's advice on giving boiled sweet potatoes and no fruits diet. He had recovered prefectly on just boiled sweet potato, boiled carrot, boiled pumpkin, mealworms and also the medication that Dr.Yeoh's given. No more backside cleaning.....

And his appetite is so much better now. Last time, he will usually hide one corner and i have to really beg him to come out and force feed him. Now he will join the rest (Gollum and Eowyn) to wait at the edge of the door of the cage and pick up mealworms from me. ...and he will still keep eating ...eat as much as Gollum now... last time only 4-5 mealworms and he will stop....now more than 10+...!!!

And I also noticed that he could pee now...with no more hissing sound....... .....

Anyway, I noticed their tails are now more fluffy...could it be the 3 weeks of the boiled stuff that i gave them....as i totally stop giving them fruits since frodo's problem....anyone know what makes their tail more fluffy? carrot? sweet potato or pumpkin???

Yeah. it could be also...but so glad his problem is solved...now I have to find time to trim their nails........Hun...your suggie spa ready to take customer? need nail trim here.....

Will try to give pear today and see how.....

Wah...so many new glider owners liao....I had been so busy that I had not been able to write here.....

So are we having another gathering ?? ..... My schedule should be quite free during the fasting month......

Frodo had been very very active now....which I am so glad....he is now looking to come out the cage like Eowyn whenever I open up.....whereby Uncle Gollum will still remain in the cage.....

Will try to take some pic of their fluffy tails.....somehow their tails becoming more and more fluffy with the sweet potato and carrot diet..... ...

It has been a while I snap snap pictures of my glider....

1) Gollum.....his tail not like that when I first got him...glad he is looking good now...

2) Frodo...he just came out the pouch...have not groom himself properly yet.....but finally he is very active and healthy..

3) Eowyn....she is the explorer...loves to explore around.....very very greddy...eat more than the boys...

The best cleaner for me is apple cider vinegar...I pour like 10% of it in a bucket of water. Then I will just wipe through the cage and clean everything up. A bit smelly but it is good.
