Recently i just bought goods mainly apparel from UK. today i received email from DHL parcel pending tax clearance. I understood mine worth more than RM1k as per invoice and current exchange rate but what I dont understand is the exchange rate used by Customs as of 6/6/2011 for calculating sales tax is 1 Pound = RM6.4842. If they used rate like 1 Pound = RM5.1 or RM5.2, I still consider it acceptable.

Does any of you happen to face this kind of outdated exchange rate used by Customs?

bro, usually whats the different between current rate and customs rate that you normally charged by customs?
for eg. current rate USD$1=RM3, custom rate USD$1=RM3.1?
