Need some help. My friend shipped my some used dolls and accesories for my daughter from USA. Came in quite a big box 18"x13"x13". I paid shipping about rm250 thru vpost (a s'pore company). I declared the dolls as usd30 although it was free because the courier company said i had to put in a value.

The box is now held up at custom Butterworth. I need to go there to clear the custom duties. Can someone help educate me if my items are taxable?

rgds,

Thanks all for the advice. Went to butterworth custom this morning. Didnt pay any tax cause the toys look used and below rm500. And i can confirm that anything below rm500 (including shipping) for personal use is not taxable based on the chop they stamped on the document. I didnt quite remember under which section of the Custom Act it stated but i will try to find out.
