Digi seems to have a system in place to squeeze $$$ out from not so active account.

That was my 2nd backup line. Don't use so much. Purchased daily internet if I need it from time to time. The system must have flagged me as a low internet user (ARPU), and it kept sending me SMS promotion to buy monthly data.

Maxis is like Iphone - revenue per user is high, less customers but very profitable

Digi is like Android - revenue per user is lower, more customers and profit is lower.

Digi actually has the cheapest way to maintain the line.

At the end of grace period, just connect to internet using Wifi, then purchase the RM1 for 1 day validity.. the validity will be extended another 75/90 days grace period.

I am not sure if Digi will plug this loophole anytime soon.

Having tried both Digi and Hotlink, I would agree with you that Hotlink has better network and voice calls quality.

However, Digi is still cheaper and value for money than Hotlink.

Hotlink has plugged every loophole there is and they are not generous. The thing I like about Digi is

1. voice quality is clear IF the other party is using Digi Volte
2. reload bonus - RM100, you get RM110 and 120 days validity (hotlink only 100 days)
3. credit can be used to purchase GSC tickets, Watson offer, etc. I don't see this with hotlink.

With Digi, I can get unlimited (almost la, 500 mins to digi, 500 mins to non-digi) at RM38/month. Hotlink does this at RM60. A lot of difference for budget conscious people.

oh yea I forgot to mention, extension of validity with hotlink only allowed once after you are in the grace period. If you do not reload after you extend the validity, the system will not allow it again. ( they call it credit advance)

Sometimes, this credit advance feature will not be available if they see that your Hotlink usage pattern is passive only.

Digi has no such restriction, so far.

i suspect so. Hotlink RM30 unlimited calls, digi will definitely counter.
