Market - the furnitures sold are catering for upper middle till luxurious people. 1 piece furniture cost 1k, 2k above. That market is rather small.
OK i get that there's plenty of rich ppl in malaysia too, but rich ppl's furniture demand isnt that much more than middle class (ie. middle class - 1 sofa/house, rich ppl - 2-3 sofa/house).
And rich ppl aint got time for shopping often for furnitures. The houses that these rich ppl rent out will be using cheapskate furnitures sold elsewhere.
Experience - the mall's shopping experience is poor. There's basically only 3 types of (pricey) furniture u can find there (in each shop) - beds, tables, sofas. Same thing for most shops. The designs arent much different and distinct.
There's rows and rows of mishmash furnitures, often with no showrooms to help u visualize how that furniture will fit in into a space.
The restaurant selections arent exciting.
There's no point in going there if there's no exhibition going on or u not shopping for high end furnitures
Online channel - nowadays furnitures can be bought online. The discount vouchers are pretty attractive. Search, filter and sort function lets u see thousands of products instantly.
Way easier and convenient than going all the way to Viva Home
*Souce - my experience going there last month

i won't say it's all high end.
also 1k is wot furniture? if 1 chair yes high end, if 1 sofa 2k is cheap.
i actually saw a bed on LG that rarely see outside, made from virgin coconut fiber.
there are other furnitures like kitchen & doors & toilets but not that many. but i notice even you go Rozel, they also sell these things, you don't see cabinets & closets.
thing is most things people will hire people custom make instead of buy ready made, that is why they focus on Bed/Sofa/Dining set/table/Chair. i mean wot else you buy?
