I bought MAS tickets to Seoul and had to pay extra $$ to choose my seats 😭

1. Depends on what you want. Most people here prefer to self research and self travel, but if you're the type that can't be bothered then go package.
2. Not enough. 1 day for each park, 2 days for both. If you have kids then maybe TDL better, if all grown ups then probably TDS better.

1. Osaka more alive at night eg @ Dotonbori area.

The Tokyo days are totally unrealistic. Example day 5.

0730hrs Depart to Tsukiji Fish Market
0800hrs - 0930hrs Breakfast at Tsukiji Fish Market

This is a waste of time. Breakfast at the two popular shops (sushi dai, daiwa sushi), you need to be there at 6am and queue for like 3+ hours before you get in, so that means you finish at 11am++, so there is no way you will be able to fit in Asakusa/Sensojii plus Odaiba for the rest of the day.

Actually since you're not planning to do anything else in Tsukiji, I would say don't even bother going, cos IMO the sushi there isn't worth 3-4hrs queue + travel.

Odaiba itself can spend an entire day there, but if you just wanna touch and go Gundam then it's Ok I guess.

By the end of the day, because you woke up at 5am to go Tsukiji, your group will be too exhausted after dinner to do any of Ginza / Nihonbashi / etc.

Day 6 imperial east gardens are closed on mondays and fridays

Hokkaido in january is the peak of winter. Don’t talk about rain, it will more likely be snowing especially once you leave sapporo / hakodate and start going into the hills in the outskirts.

I honestly don’t know if it’s a good idea. Traveling with a toddler and a baby is tough enough without having to constantly worry about keeping them well and truly protected from the cold.

how the heck is this not bragging?
other than to show off that you're exchanging rm15k worth of yen to go on big spender japan holiday?

Call / send email to your hotel concierge and ask them to make the reservation on your behalf.

Tokyo area is hot and very humid in summer.
Be prepared to sweat a lot especially cos u walk around outdoors a lot.
But on the bright side it’s peach season, and eating cold sweet juicy peaches after a hot day is freaking divine.

[edit] Anyway are there any ski areas within 2-3hr traveling time from Kyoto/Osaka that are sort of comparable to the ones in Nagano?

This is literally the first time I’ve ever heard someone discuss / ask about skydiving in Japan lol. Usually Australia seems to be the default skydiving destination. Anyway just a random off topic observation, hope no bora bora for me.

lol you first time fly AA? Their system always like that, if u dun pay for the seat up front then it’s a gamble where on the aircraft the system assigns to you during web check in. Want cheap flight is like that one lo.

If you fly AA often you’ll know, their online check in system doesn’t make any effort to assign your group to sit together, even if you buy same time same ticket. I don’t know for sure, but I suspect they just assign the “next available seat” for each traveler. If lucky then nobody else has a pre-booked seat in the way, if unlucky then there is, then the system just skips that and assigns you the next separated seat

Maybe they changed their practices nowadays, but my recollection is definitely same as sweet_pez where last time ANA advertised fares only and only added in the airport tax, other tax, etc at time of booking.
