Higher price doesn't make sense lor, better I wait. August is coming too... So gonna use 580 for mining too?
Wait better if you're not in a rush.

RX 580? Yes will have to mine a bit but I'm not serious miner.

Currently my GTX 1070 and RX 470 are all having a good rest. tongue.gif

U still can mine with 3gb.
ETH DAG only be near 3gb in summer 2018. So u have sufficient time to recoup your investment.
Higher DAG means efficiency drop only, that's why I say go with 8GB RX models.

AMD card no 3GB model, only GTX 1060 has.

| ASUS GTX 1050 Ti Expedition | 55W | 228 Sols/s |

confirm sure? what i found on internet is around 180+- Sols/s
I think you're right.

Perhaps software gave me wrong reading.

I saw 928 Sols/s when I run 2x GTX 1070 and 1x GTX 1050 Ti so I conveniently minus off the GTX 1070 figure.

It's actually less, 150 Sol/s.

180+/- could be modded or higher overclocked model.

For ETH mining for example, Zotac GTX 1050 Ti does better than ASUS GTX 1050 Ti.

Scroll up a bit? It's less than 150 Sols/s. I see mine now is 145 - 148 range.

Yep i know , just that i dont really know how to answer to my friend about Antminer is not profitable now , because in online market he saw a lot of it is out of stock which mean if out stock the antminer still profitable (people buying it)
Even from past till now, these ASIC miners aren't readily available.

Usually they will say X model available soon, then people order. Some companies had difficulty delivering as well.

Here's a news back in 2014. You want to gamble on delivery? smile.gif https://www.theverge.com/2014/9/23/6833047/...-butterfly-labs

Well at least ANTMiner is reputable, I guess.

Not quite right. Higher DAG size doesn't really affect efficiency.
The DAG stores fixed-length hashes of the blocks, not the blocks themselves.

Every 7 months the size increases by 1.2GB
This is what I read about DAG affecting efficiency. http://1stminingrig.com/amd-radeon-rx-400-...thereum-mining/

There are those that's RM 2.2k or less BUT the greater problem for would-be miners now is that most shops reserve them for rig builds first.

If you have money now I'd suggest you
a) buy coins direct
b) buy hashing power from cloud mining sites

Eh? I remember you don't advocate cloud mining due to your bad experiences with Mt Gox and CEX.IO?

Actually la, if you remember my post in the "missing thread" was just sharing my bad experience.

However I also posted the following ............

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 21 2017, 07:52 AM)
Actually la, cloud mining can be profitable.

You put USD 2799 in to ge 100Mh/s - at today's rate you should get a little over 1 ETH per month but after 24 months you should get at least 10 ETH.

The idea behind cloud mining isn't so much of instant profit or getting side income but rather to accumulate ETH.

This means you are certain that you want to bank that amount of money on an uncertain future.

After the contract ends - even if you got just 10 ETH, as long as they're priced above USD 280 each you already break-even.

That's why I put buy coins direct as the first one. smile.gif I think it's a better option.

Cloud Mining is more like for convenience vs setting up mining rigs.

if i do this can i play my games while the mining in progress?
1. Your rig can do mining
2. Stop mining when you play game

Incorrect, u can't simply assume.

1080ti is a beast, and it does mine many altcoins, than the ones u are familiar with.

RX series are just good for ETH and ETC, whilist sucks at other Alt coins.

Try AMD and mine Zcash? Nowhere near 1060GTX.
^ the above.

If you look at ETH alone then RX models.

However while GTX 1080 sucks at ETH (yup, my GTX 1060 does almost as good), the landscape changes when you go other coins like say ZCash.

Hi Guys. Im newbie in cryptomining... can I use same hardware from mining bitcoin to mine Ethereum. What is the best cryptocurrency to mine now? Is it bitcoin still the best?

And how much do i need to invest in the hardware to start?
*
Depends what you used to mine Bitcoin.

Graphics card - yes
ASIC miner - no

You all mining mining stuff also want to kecoh. smile.gif

Don't like people's opinion can just ignore actually.

Big deal if people can bear with vacuum cleaner at home, I just put loud machines in the back room where it doesn't disturb anyone.
