What research ?

I'm actually a gpu miner , the question above is from my friend . We are using nicehash calculator as A refrence , as we can see nicehash ROI is in 31 Days , Meanwhile 1080 ti 111Days .. (i'm mining using 1080 ti)

I do know about the GPU can minig many coins and others but why do we still keep mining gpu even the hashrate is slower than Antminer?

Refrence from nicehash comparing apple to apple

[attachmentid=8936953]

[attachmentid=8936954]

By following the refrence that i use from this graph and miner , The antminer is more profitable than 1080 ti
*
U mine different thing, this L3+ is dedicated LTC miner. U can hack to run other scrypt based coins.

GPU miner mines almost everything in worldcoinindex

Higher DAG means efficiency drop only, that's why I say go with 8GB RX models.

AMD card no 3GB model, only GTX 1060 has.
*
Not quite right. Higher DAG size doesn't really affect efficiency.
The DAG stores fixed-length hashes of the blocks, not the blocks themselves.

Every 7 months the size increases by 1.2GB

I was referring to Nvidia cards. I have given up on the AMD cards lol.

Which NV gen u are looking at?

1070 is near 2700RM, 2200+ is gone by now.
1080ti is 4.2-5.5K

it's not the most efficient mining gpu atm
from what i gather is that the architecture of the memory isn't as suitable as previous models
so yea, it's not optimized for mining, not best bang for buck, hence not the most recommended card

imho rx 400 and 500s will continue triumphing the mining category for gpu mining
*
Incorrect, u can't simply assume.

1080ti is a beast, and it does mine many altcoins, than the ones u are familiar with.

RX series are just good for ETH and ETC, whilist sucks at other Alt coins.

Try AMD and mine Zcash? Nowhere near 1060GTX.

^ the above.

If you look at ETH alone then RX models.

However while GTX 1080 sucks at ETH (yup, my GTX 1060 does almost as good), the landscape changes when you go other coins like say ZCash.
*
agreed , 1080 beast only performed well on other alt coins.. inclusive LBRY, currently my favorite.

TL;DR
1080TI is bad at the most profitable coin to mine right now (ETH / ETC).
But does pretty decent at some other alt coins that mine using different algorithm.
*
understood your point and i also made it clear. 1080 is not for ETH/ETC but its very profitable for other alt coins such as LBRY or HUSH.
mining is for long term. you under-clock and save your GPU and TNB bills.

If you are looking at the GigaWatt website, the L3+ is out of stock.

It is actually not out of stock.

You have to buy WTT tokens first and contact their Support Team at support@giga-watt.com
telling them you want to buy the L3+.

I bought my two L3+ this way.  biggrin.gif
*
Ah, no wonder. Thanks. Was checking GigaWatt last week. All marked as sold out.

So u got 2K token. Which is cheap to host 2 L3+..

I bought my Gigawatt WTT tokens a few days back.

You buy them according to the wattage of your miner/s.

The L3+ has a wattage of 800W. Plus 10% = 880W

For two L3+, the combined wattage is 1,760W.

I bought 2,020 tokens, enough to cover the 2 L3+.

The extra tokens I can rent them out to other miners who do not have tokens.

So,. It's for electric charges.
Buying. L3+ is another 50 LTC each.

So basically, using my kampung calculator, total cost for 2 L3+ and hosting+electricity is 102 LTC for Miner and 2000$ h+e
Bringing TCO about 260LTC

Where got so much?

2,020 tokens = USD2,222 at 1.10 each.

One L3+ - 51 litecoin. Therefore, two units = 102 litecoin.
*
Have u paid for L3+
No right, u still need to fork out 102 LTC for 2 units.

Or I'm wrong?

U use your token for hosting.

2000$ for hosting+electricity, lifetime or a year?

No, the WTT tokens are NOT for electricity charges.

You still pay for electricity and maintenance at 3.3 cents per KwH.

This is the cheapest in the world.

The token is used to offset the facilities RENTAL cost at 7.5 cents a day.
*
So, what is the use of the token then.?

Tokens are used to offset facilities RENTAL.

You still pay for electricity and maintenance as mentioned by denimblue.

The duration of the tokens is RENTAL-free for 50 years.

Please read in more detail their white paper at the website if you are really interested.
*
Still, I'm not wrong, u paid 102ltc for 2 units plus hosting 2000$.
So it's roughly 102*50=5100+2020=7120$=142LTC.

Correct. So effective period is 3+2 months = 5 months

LOL

Same as if you invest in Genesis or Hashflare whereby the ROI is 5 months as well if you invest now.

So the comparative figure should be the monthly ROI thereafter.

Previously was 4+ months as LTC was just under 30$.

If LTC getting harder to mine , can hack for other Scrypt coins.
