I heard in europe many already stop due to electric costs.
Now is the season of vega poping up in garage sales.

But... the next generation GTX that can do real time ray tracing will be awesome for those beautiful MMOs.

Can't say about others but I am holding from buying any until at least June when we know what next gen card capability.

My rig of GTX1060 3G has reach its ETH DAG limit.
Damn... time to do other coins.

Simple explanation:
To mine ETH, you have to load ETH data to GPU memory.
The data size will grow bigger as time goes.

Due to the way win 10 loads data into GPU memory (the latest win 10 patch occupies 600M GPU memory), when the DAG size reaches 2.4G, the 3GB GPU does not have space for DAG then you get memory error from miner software.

Solution:
1) Use linux. Some people mine using the main pc so no way they can change to linux, thus the drop of ETH difficulty now.
2) mine other coin
3) Let nicehash handle it
4) sell the GPU

For now I will be switching my 1060 3G rig to linux. Probably can lasts another few months before my 3GB GPU become totally unusable for ETH.

Last year it was 2GB cards, people advice to avoid 3GB card and got for 4GB instead.
Somehow the info distorted becoming 3GB unusable for ETH.

Well, another 2 weeks 3G GPU will actually become unusable for ETH on win10.
Gamers can ready your cash for 3G GPU sale soon.

I'm going straight to linux. No more windows for 1060 rig.
Saves the headache of patch and reboot too.
Use Linux and run straight on 32GB SSD.

Goodbye GTX960 and earlier models.


All AMD R9 390 and earlier model also bye bye liao.

If you don't know linux, you can use win 7.
It will work.

3G GPU still works fine in win 7 OS.

I am also using hiveOS now.
Its free for 3 rigs so just enough for my use.

No need to skip mining ETH.
The performance of E3 same as 6x rX570 rig. If you already have ETH rig, mine as usual.

If E3 is in abundant supply, demand for AMD GPU will surely drop.

one E3 without 1200w power supply = RM3200. power consumption 800W.

one rig with 6 x RX570 4G (without 1200w PSU) = RM11k. Power consumption about 850w, can go lower power or not depending on your silicon luck.

Performance and power consumption level, E3 vs RX570 they're about the same.
It's just newcomer into ETH mining with E3 will have really huge price advantage against GPU miner that bought GPU at peak price.

Before you rush out and buy E3, take note of casper roadmap and think hard first.

Wait eth go back to 1k then you will see people appearing again.
Hmm, I think ETH by 800 they will start to show up. haha.

Next gen GPU coming out, if you already have rig, just wait a few months more.

If you have those older cards, they are profitable again.
But I won't be buying new cards this time. New GPU model from nvidia and AMD should be coming very soon.
