QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Mar 25 2018, 07:51 PM) I heard in europe many already stop due to electric costs. Now is the season of vega poping up in garage sales. But... the next generation GTX that can do real time ray tracing will be awesome for those beautiful MMOs. This post has been edited by yushin: Mar 25 2018, 08:33 PM |

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Mar 29 2018, 08:39 AM) Simple explanation:To mine ETH, you have to load ETH data to GPU memory. The data size will grow bigger as time goes. Due to the way win 10 loads data into GPU memory (the latest win 10 patch occupies 600M GPU memory), when the DAG size reaches 2.4G, the 3GB GPU does not have space for DAG then you get memory error from miner software. Solution: 1) Use linux. Some people mine using the main pc so no way they can change to linux, thus the drop of ETH difficulty now. 2) mine other coin 3) Let nicehash handle it 4) sell the GPU This post has been edited by yushin: Mar 29 2018, 08:59 AM |

QUOTE(SingBlueEther @ Mar 29 2018, 10:24 AM) Thanks for your explaination. For now I will be switching my 1060 3G rig to linux. Probably can lasts another few months before my 3GB GPU become totally unusable for ETH.Found this link also quite useful https://investoon.com/tools/dag_size The difficulty of ETH dropped ? good news for us. So what coin u aiming next ? |

QUOTE(JonSpark @ Mar 29 2018, 10:59 AM) Last year it was 2GB cards, people advice to avoid 3GB card and got for 4GB instead.Somehow the info distorted becoming 3GB unusable for ETH. Well, another 2 weeks 3G GPU will actually become unusable for ETH on win10. Gamers can ready your cash for 3G GPU sale soon. This post has been edited by yushin: Mar 29 2018, 11:06 AM |

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Mar 29 2018, 12:03 PM) not yet. still can till 2019. refer to https://investoon.com/tools/dag_size I'm going straight to linux. No more windows for 1060 rig.downgrade to Win 8.1. Problem solved Saves the headache of patch and reboot too. Use Linux and run straight on 32GB SSD. |

Guys, ETH ASIC is here.
https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid...564M8dMJKtz06B7 180MH@800Watt for USD800 excluding PSU. Stock available by July 2018. I believe GPU price will go back to normal soon. This post has been edited by yushin: Apr 3 2018, 10:59 PM |

QUOTE(nicotine @ Apr 3 2018, 11:15 PM) bad news for gpu miner, with asic mining gpu would be a past especially for amd gpus... Well, if GPU sells same or below their launch MSRP price, the ASIC is only about 20-30% cheaper..http://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-rx-58...aris,34168.html RX570 4G was only USD169 during launch time. How much shop RX570 4G selling now? This post has been edited by yushin: Apr 4 2018, 06:13 AM |

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Apr 4 2018, 08:52 AM) No need to skip mining ETH.The performance of E3 same as 6x rX570 rig. If you already have ETH rig, mine as usual. If E3 is in abundant supply, demand for AMD GPU will surely drop. one E3 without 1200w power supply = RM3200. power consumption 800W. one rig with 6 x RX570 4G (without 1200w PSU) = RM11k. Power consumption about 850w, can go lower power or not depending on your silicon luck. Performance and power consumption level, E3 vs RX570 they're about the same. It's just newcomer into ETH mining with E3 will have really huge price advantage against GPU miner that bought GPU at peak price. Before you rush out and buy E3, take note of casper roadmap and think hard first. This post has been edited by yushin: Apr 4 2018, 09:06 AM |

If you have those older cards, they are profitable again.
But I won't be buying new cards this time. New GPU model from nvidia and AMD should be coming very soon. |

QUOTE(Impesque @ May 1 2018, 02:43 PM) Anyone here who can give me some brief info about cloud mining as a whole? I am quite eager to try it out, just not so sure where to start from. As far as I know, I have to make a contract of some sort, is that right or am I misunderstanding something? Also, is there any good from using promo codes like here ? I've read that they provide some discounts but I am doubting if they even work. Thanks in advance for any answers. Try to ask in the cloud mining thread, the people there are more knowledgeable in cloud mining platforms.https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4345064 There is another cloud mining platform from the folk nanopool, you mmight want to take a look. https://cloudmining.finom.io/ Here are mostly hardware geeks for GPU/ASIC mining. |
