QUOTE(Axelredan @ Feb 15 2018, 01:52 AM) I'd really like to know how F3 could possibly succeed. Cuz regardless of ETH POS, it can destroy other Ethash algo coins Due to Ethash requirement for high bandwidth and high amount of RAM, I would say F3 will be offering a cost effective alternative for mining ETH.It won't kill off GPU mining overnight like what antminer did to bitcoin GPU mining. It won't destroy the coins, just cause big problem to those buying GPU at ultra inflated price. I think gamers will be happy to see F3 succeed. |

Well, depends on amd that is bought at what price level.
Profitability of rx570 bought at 1.3k vs 1.9k can be very different. |

Hmm, I usually wire like this.
1) Each SATA/MOLEX cable I use to power up to max 2 PCIE risers only. 2) When using dual PSU, power the PCIE and GPU from the same PSU. (eg: PCIE1,2,3 using PSU1; PCIE4,5,6 using PSU2) 90% of my GPU are nVidia, seems to be working fine using this configuration. |

QUOTE(Axelredan @ Feb 23 2018, 01:17 AM) Amp is the electric current.Normal house 3 pin plug can only handle up to 13 amp. Exceed and you will get below effect: 1) Burn fuse in the plug 2) Your electrical box jump fuse 3) If the wire is too thin (cheap/low quality wire) and unable to handle the heat from the load, it will melt and cause short circuit or fire. Know the capability of your rig and wiring for the safety of you and your neighbour. |

QUOTE(tishaban @ Feb 27 2018, 09:33 AM) Breakeven should still be less than a year. I just did a calculation base on estimated difficulty increase and assuming 2018 ETH price hovers between 1K-1.2K.As a comparison, if you spend RM250k to open a laundromat, net income is maybe RM10k per month. If you buy a Rig on Feb 2018, it will take 14 months. I factor in the costs of whole rig, not the GPU only. This post has been edited by yushin: Feb 27 2018, 09:43 AM |

QUOTE(jusTinMM @ Feb 27 2018, 10:57 AM) Due to speed and maybe lower transaction cost.If you withdraw direct from NH internal wallet to Binance, need to wait for NH to run extranal withdrawal batch which I also dunno when. NH to coinbase is almost instant. Coinbase to binance is also very fast due to segwit implementation, cheaper tx fee too. |

QUOTE(jusTinMM @ Feb 27 2018, 11:24 AM) No need VPN.No problem using coinbase to store btc you withdraw from NH. You don't even need to do any KYC validation. However for Malaysia, you cannot buy or sell crypto to any fiat. No problem transferring crypto from coinbase to other places. This post has been edited by yushin: Feb 27 2018, 11:43 AM |

This mining thread has less response already since the drop of coin price.
Cold winter ahead? |

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Mar 9 2018, 06:18 PM) Currently mining ETH and ZEC.GPU will only drop price if coin winter continues for a few months. Now shops still fulfilling pre-order from weeks or even months ago. I more pity those miner that pre order GPU weeks/months ago with inflated price. hmm... looks like garage sale starts to have used rig for sale now. QUOTE(tishaban @ Mar 9 2018, 10:16 PM) Actually I think if altcoin prices continue to drop the losers would be small time miners like us. The large GPU farms controlled by the big companies with deep pockets will continue to mine, difficulty won't be reduced, our profits will continue to go down... Well, large mining company has deeper pockets/cash reserves so they have higher holding power compare to small time miners. Also, large mining company direct order their GPU so not subject to artificial price hike that will affect small buyers. Current coin price is so low that many places with higher electric costs already stop mining with older generation card, I remember someone is reddit posting his GTX960 generate negative numbers in nicehash (unprofitable).
Check your ROI, is it still worth it in the current situation where 1) Low coin price 2) Rising ETH difficulty 3) Next gen card coming 4) Rumor of Bitmain F3 ETH AISC. Last I check with low ETH price that does not exceed 1.3k over 2 years, rising difficulty, until Dec 2019 also can't ROI... There are reason why suddenly so many GPU and rigs available now in garage sales. If you still believe ETH can reach 5k by year end then continue lor. Personally I have 3 rigs running too... brace for the winter bro. |
