Just curious, any forumer here working in Sime Darby? I have heard a lot about GLC companies but I don't really have an idea about the pros and cons. Basically I'll be starting myself in their management trainee program. The fact is that I've resigned from a executive post and 'downgrade' myself to a trainee with only training allowance paid. So, I will be 'pok kai' for the next 6 months with so little money to survive.

My GF works in SJMC (under SIME)
The benefits good I would say. Housing loans, Car loans, Annual bonuses (kinda high), medical, stock options (which is like extra bonus) not too shabby.... |

Anyway I heard they've been doing very well especially for the China market. Hopefully I'll get the chance to work in China someday as my post is actually for the Malaysia and China Operation. Ah.. can't wait to start the program! Damn imagine u got the offer on end of Feb but the program starts at May. Isn't that too long for someone to wait?? Just my 2 cents .. GLC to me is a good place to settle down .. slow pace but less exposure and knowledge compared to other private sectors out there ... again ... that's just my opinion after working in one of GLC's for 5 years.

Hi there,
I'm looking a vacancy at Sime Darby Plantation as Account Executive. May I know, how do I apply for the position? Currently work at PETRONAS for almost 3 years. I'm very interested to joint Sime Darby especially at Plantation Div. Is there any HR focal person who I could liaise with? Expected to joint by January 2010. |

I interviewed for IT postion there last year. Contractual bonus, house & car allowance, they have own hospital for their staff and family, 17% epf, lower a bit starting salary compare other mnc companies. The enviroment is good to stay and growth.
