Electronic Arts has announced Anthem, a new IP from Mass Effect and Dragon Age creators BioWare due out in spring 2018.

In Anthem, players will “explore a landscape of primeval beauty, confront the dangers you find, and grow in power with every step.”

Platforms for Anthem were not announced, but the trailer notes that “4K resolution not available on all platforms,” suggesting it is a multiplatform title. (Update: BioWare’s director of marketing has confirmed that Anthem will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.)

Damn mechanical warfare with futuristic guns plus unpredictable environment with beasts. I'm sold.

And thank god the face is not Mass Effect Andromeda quality. Which is the same face whether they are in battle or in bed.

Never played Destiny. But global feedback seems to say the first impression is like Destiny.

Using Frostbite engine. As much I hate to break it, better not put too much high hope on a trailer. This trailer's graphic is probably based on a super gaming PC or XBOX1X.

But exo suit with lots of explosion and customization and lvling, ayam game.

ya , in recent kotaku article on andromeda development team said that frostbite isn't handling RPG well.
dunno why they still want to go for frostbite engine.
myb EA push them to use in house engine then spend extra money for developing a new engine?
It could be a new vers. of frostbite , able to cater different gameplay?

The only Frosbite engine game I know would be battlefield, Fifa 17, 18, Mass Effect, dragon age and Star wars battlefront.

Not that great graphic imho. (lai lai I wearing Molotov proof suit d! ) Unreal Engine 4 would have been more convincing.

im no developer or programmer in any mean , just hearing rumors about those freakass engine.
The world would be a better place if all developer using a single engine to develop their game , slowly chip in and add features to cater to different needs, rather then , brand new engine but doing same shit.

Don't know much about engines. But I remember watching a vid explaining about who ppl don't reuse open world data and program and recycle them for another game. Would have been easier. After watching the vid for 15 mins, I still don't get why they dont recycle old open world game to new games lol.

To be honest I dont really give a shyte. Just give us some good coop shooter game in mech suits already

I thought this game is exclusive for XboxOne X only.

yeah. learning from mass effect andromeda, better not be overhyped about it first imho. but so far the gameplay does looks interesting.

Agree the damage number displays feels a borderlands and could have be replaced with better interface. The weapons customization like flame thrower really makes each Javalin perform differently, something to look forward to too.

Could this be server overload? I've this prob few times. Also have some rubber banding issues.

Doing mission, although all challenges done but not being registerd, hence cant proceed story.
The sound breaking really hurts my ears alot, FPS or HDR i'm not really concern but stuttering really make the cut scene headache to watch.
Talking to certain NPC, game crash.
Mission done, count down to end mission, game crash.
Unlocked new javelin, selected colossus, game crash.
Even walking in fort tarsis to certain area, game also crash.
Etc etc. wtf wtf.

This game is just not ready, it's more like a beta imo. As much as i enjoy the combat, but there are alot bugs and crashes really dented the anthem experience. Uninstall, rebuild database, reinstall, same shit, not sure is server side problem or what. Don't get me wrong, i'm one of those guy who really wish for this game to success, i'm still buying it despite all these bad reviews and non of my friends willing to buy it. But l'm not sure if Bioware can really rectify all these problems in time before everyone scrap this game away. How's everyone experience?

the anthem live server I think is the cause. keep getting error says unable to update player data to live server etc.

So far so good. Enjoying every moment. I'm using PS4 fat and so far have yet to encounter any problem.

I'm using PS4 fat too, you must be damn lucky, i've seen reddit, people with new ps4 pro also encountered alot issues.

Somehow, sometimes, the game is real smooth. Then the next login, everything is just so wrong, lead to me thinking whether or not is server side issue, or i simply being matched make into buggy lobby.

Well, having said that, i'm still loving this game, 8hours in, level 11 freelancer here, taking my sweet sweet time

This game will probably be free on PS plus next year if it's so bad on launch

I just started yesterday night for 1 hour only. Kinda noob . Is this game only can play with friends OR can randomly matchmaking

can invite friends into party and also can play with random. whenever u start the game solo it will matchmake with other players that doing the same mission. or u can set the privacy to private if wanna play mission solo. for freeplay cannot.

After server shutdown last night the game are more stable for me today

level 18 atm. still using uncommon javelin

I'm taking it real slow, doing most of the contracts/agent mission w/o progressing story much, only reached level 18 yesterday lol. Reason because it has been twice the main story kicked me out when completed the mission and make me missed the important cutscenes, especially the 'Fortress of Dawn' mission bug, i know we can youtube for it, but this kinda ruins the gaming experience for me.

Well it seems server more stable now as compare to first few days of play, less rubber banding, less "Error retrieving Anthem live service data"

Anyway, there is one contract 'Research and Rescue', i cannot complete this shit because everytime we defeat Escari the mission just don't progress

same here. almost everytime i finished a mission or freeplay kena kick out from server. waiting for score screen but suddenly kicked out to login screen. fuuuuuu

IKR, "Error retrieving pilot data, please restart Anthem", then all EXP just gone like that

I've completed the story and I already have a power 490 Masterwork Storm.

This game is a blast when played with friends, not so much with randoms....it could turn into a nightmare instead....

I've been playing since launch and apart from the odd disconnects problems have been very few and far between so I can't relate to most of the people facing issues with the game. Hopefully I never have to.

actually my exp still got but the server will fucked up first by load u into fort tarsis after login back into the game and u will noticed ur lvl are reset to lvl 1. plus ur character got no voice and body. but the credits still remains and will add up bcoz u already finished the mission previously. and while walking in town u will hear the rewards sounds too after that the game will load again and will show the correct lvl and fix all the error before such as voice and character avatar. if i try to play the next mission or freeplay when in the buggy state, my javelin will not have any weapons and the flying animation will buggy as hell to. u will fly but the javelin will on standing animation only

getting the game on 22 Feb, although that's a lot of negative comments over the web but i still enjoy the game.

Currently Lvl 30, major Javelin are ranger.

now the problem are difficult to farm legendary and useful master grade item

you randomly play in matchmaking and your squad mates never ever go down?

Tomb challenges dont have to be played in freeplay, you can play normal missions and it'll still count.

major javelin is the storm, kinda having the same issue - hard to find masterwork items


ended up levelling up other javelins and just in a few days my colossus now overtook my storm's level as it even got a couple of legendaries

Called PSN for refund, the customer service agent guessed it was Anthem without me saying anything. Not hopeful for a refund cause he said they will investigate 7-14 days then e-mail.

I've encountered this PS4 crash for once, what's the main reason you ask for the refund?

I encountered this shutdown bug a few times. It is on an OG PS4 but upgraded the hard drive few months ago. Also happens on my husband's console which is newer. So I'm not going to play this game again with the chance that it can brick a system/hard drive - since many users have reported it to the point that Sony MY/Asia (based on the agent's reaction) know that it's a big deal. Only played up to level 5 so not that many hours. Uninstalled the game now as it's not worth a chance of bricking 2 consoles to me. I'll maybe come back when the game has been retooled like Division 1 but tbh don't even feel like it at this point. Not trying to be a hater cause I love Bioware games, wanted to love Anthem but I'm done ... hence the refund request.

They will say that they need to investigate 7-14 days then you get an e-mail of their decision. If you get a straight full refund let me know! Again I'm not hopeful as it's PSN Asia/MY but worth a shot at this point.

I just requested a refund myself. The game has caused my ps4 pro to do a hard shut down twice now and after reading the horror stories of people's ps4 getting bricked, I am now afraid to even run that game. I really can't afford to to lose my LE PS4 Pro.

Hope the tweet can make everyone relieve. As much as i'm worry about bricking my console in the past few days, but the urge to play is too strong, i just cant stop myself from not turning on Anthem

I'm quite lucky as i only encountered this PS4 hard crash once, the thing that annoyed me the most is actually random connection lost to server, hopefully these fix can come soon enough. Love this game.

I actually thinking of getting refund, but then i could not find other games on ps4 that can match the gameplay of anthem. Even the division is lacking in speed and ability to fly as in anthem.

I guess i will keep and play anthem until i can found other games that have at least same mechanic like anthem. Until then, anthem it is, even though there too many bugs.

Talk about speed, did u guys noticed that freefall is much faster than flying down?

Heard the March 12th patch will have 300+ changes to the game including bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

You are right bro. I have been going to Tyrant Mine (GM1) all the time everytime i went online, and i dont think ill stop in the next few days. The gameplay, the mechanic of moving which allows us to escape in the nick of time using various air dodging movement even during boss fight and bring able to solo the boss when everyone is down is awesome for me.

Btw, im using storm for now since i like hovering and aoe. Next is intercepter, the fastest javelin, after i reach 480.

Try to reach full masterwork for your main javelin first which is 486 power then only change. That is when you will start to truly feel powerful and you can probably enjoy your new found power for awhile before switching.

I started with Storm first as well. Storm is at 494 with some legendary pieces and then I played Colossus and it’s at 488.

I have since switched to Ranger lol.

Love the way every javelin requires a totally different and unique play style.

I did that bro. This morning reach 486 and then continue with interceptor. This one is awesome, it is too fast, like a lightning. I jo ambushed a mob, give the finisher and disappear within few seconds before got hit by other mobs in TM GM1. Cant wait to see damaged at full AM equipment.
