Last time I could probably tell you a few but nowadays I'm not so sure. Some good coins dropped a lot while those that I think is lousy can shoot so high. And some good coins are now so damn expensive.

However, if you are just starting off, I would recommend going for "blue chip" coins such as bitcoin, ETH, LTC, dash, XMR, zcash, etc. I used to like XRP but it's a bankers coin. Siacoin died but I hope it will go up long term.

Others maybe OMG, LSK, ark, neo and a whole lot more. I can't be sure and because of that, I have about 50+ types of coins. wink.gif

One thing to remember is not to chase coins when everything is green. So far, corrections and red seas comes on a predictable basis. Just don't know when.

Lastly, only use funds you can afford to lose. Some are still saying cryptocurrencies are all scam and just waiting for this bubble to burst.

I watched the market cap break USD 340 billion last night, and this morning I woke up and more than USD 50 billion was wiped out in the correction, dropping to USD 290 billion.
I boarded the subway to work and three stops later, I walked out of the train and refreshed the website.
It has already rebounded back to USD 305 billion.
Arrived at the office, settled down, made coffee and had a teleconference, refreshed the website again.
Back to USD 315 billion already......and still climbing.

Fastest recovery ever.  ohmy.gif

I remember just 2 years ago I used to panic when my stocks dropped several hundred ringgit on the stock market.
Now I could lose a hundred thousand ringgit by lunch time, and still make that back by dinner time plus profit.

This past year feels almost like a surreal dream......  blink.gif

A hundred thousand in a few hours? Whaleeee!!!!!

help needed!

How do I actually transfer altcoins like QSP, OMG & ETH to nano ledger s?
I think I've lost some QSP when trying to transfer some last night.

I read up on net on the way, unlock my nano s, downloaded Ledger Wallet Ethereum, get receive ether address from Ledger Wallet Ethereum, then paste the address at binance where I had the QSP, click submit. When I next check, the status is success at binance. However, nothing is shown when I unlock my nano s & check at Ledger Wallet Ethereum? /

What have I done wrong? Have I just thrown away my QSP? ><
*
Check ethereum explorer to see whether it went through. Just key in your ethereum address. https://etherscan.io/

Alternatively, you can use QSP ethereum explorer : https://etherscan.io/token/0x702a8dbffac169...cc18b2541887550

I've key in my ethereum address and it shows nothing in there, so does that mean that my QSP is lost? Actually at which step have I done it wrong? Is it due to QSP must be transferred through myetherwallet? I read up on net and found someone stated transferring it directly through Ledger Wallet Ethereum will do. So it's actually not?

Any way to get back my QSP in this case?

Thanks!
*
Not too sure what went wrong. Your other tokens arrived safely at that particular ETH address?

The QSP transfer should have transaction ID too (TX id). You can paste the tx id into the ethereum explorer to search too.

QUOTE(vit @ Nov 30 2017, 10:36 PM)
It's actually my first time using nano s ledger, so this is the first transfer I tried to the ETH address.

I checked using the TX id (0xe510ae08cb73e8070b159ff16b31bd828dd6b98fa78e412b3b5812427cee9d36) it actually shows TxReceipt Status as success.
*
It's there : https://ethplorer.io/tx/0xe510ae08cb73e8070...b5812427cee9d36

Your receiving address : https://ethplorer.io/address/0x9ba4ef13ade4...7a92257a3ad3f97

There are different explorers for ETH. The above explorer shows all ethereum tokens without doing anything else. For MEW, you sometimes need to enter token address to correctly display the tokens. I never bothered as I use the above explorer to view my tokens.

Just a note on addresses. Yes crypto addresses are anonymous but if you provide an address to someone to send cryptos to you, that person can check out your address to see how much you have inside. For safety, you should have a few addresses and keep one or two for general transactions. Don't reveal addresses that keeps your main hoard!

Edit : Oh ya, one more thing. Transferring ETH tokens need gas as transaction fees. As such, you would need ETH in that particular address if you were to transfer QSP out next time. wink.gif

hey! thank you! I received the bitcoin already after gotten your reply here. Haha thank you guys.

Sorry, i have another question. Since i receive the bitcoin, but when i switch to my bitcoin address, it said that i have not create any bitcoin receive address. I thought all the bitcoin should be stored inside a wallet with address (According to Post # 2) along? Thank you.
*
Not sure what you mean. All exchanges where you registered will have addresses specifically for you. If you want to transfer to another exchange or wallet, you need to see the receiving address of that particular exhange/wallet. Sometimes, the address doesn't show and you just have to click the button to generate address.

Im a noob, spent rm5 on luno bought a BTC, so it was transferred to my wallet, i then created an address and i received it back using the address.

It has been transferred in the system but my wallet become 0?

im very confuse lol
*
Yeah, as mentioned above, RM 5 is too small to transfer. BTC transfer fees can sometimes be quite high depending on traffic. If you want to transfer, it is better to transfer large amounts so that the transfer fee % doesn't take up too much of the total.

Example if the transfer fee is RM5 and you transferred RM10. That's 50% of your total!

Interesting read below. The article below mentioned a few interesting things:

1) Many analysts thinks crypto market will not be mature until it reaches 1-5 trillion dollars market cap.
2) Crypto will plateau at some point, maybe 10 trillion
3) While we are collectively regarded as early investors/adopters of crypto, the use cases for crypto are very speculative-based at this point
4) I smiled, realizing internally once again that crypto - and XRP- are still early.

As always, I'm not recommending to buy XRP or cryptos. The decision to jump into cryptos is yours and yours alone. icon_rolleyes.gif

Sincerely need everyones help with storing erc20tokens on myetherwallet.
So I just created a Myetherwallet, saved my private keys, password etc.
Tried sending some ETH from an exchange to Myetherwallet and it went thru. On the top right hand corner, under the address, it displays my entire ETH holdings.

However, I tried sending some Power Ledger Tokens from an exchange to myetherwallet and things are pretty complicated now.

If I happen to scroll down towards the list of tokens, it shows that I have O Power Ledger tokens.
[attachmentid=9398264]

However, if I click on the ethplorer.io link under the transaction history, it shows the number of Power Ledger tokens that I have on myetherwallet.
The question now is that, how do I ensure that my power ledger tokens appears under the list of balances of all tokens rather than having to click on the ethplorer link ?

QUOTE(Secruoser @ Dec 3 2017, 09:03 PM)
Correct me if I'm wrong, Luno seems to sell BTC at around 5% premium and also buy BTC at 5% lower than market price, so if I do a MYR > BTC > MYR conversion (assuming I ignore market movement), I lose around 10% of my money right?

So in order to actually gain a profit, I have to make more than a 10% gain in the market before converting back to MYR is that right?

I have not sold any BTC so far so I can't answer that. However, those exchanges operate on supply and demand. Can sometimes get good rates if a person is desperate to sell.

Ahhh... I just did further research on the upcoming NXT/IGNIS airdrop. Apparently, ONLY NXT holders will get IGNIS airdrop. ARDR WILL NOT GET any new coins. Current ARDR are tokens (or assets) which is be swapped with true ARDR coins. Same as bitswift. Do take note. smile.gif

There are many exchanges to buy and sell bitcoins. Luno, remitano, xbitasia, localbitcoins, etc.

Some people are doing arbitrage and earning money due to price difference between those exchanges. Not easy and not all the time. Also not my cup of tea.

I think you have not come to this thread for a few months. Already in cryptos? biggrin.gif

Think of CryptoKitties as Pokemons, except they are cats with different attributes.

It's both an investment and a game. You buy or breed cats at a low price and sell them off at a higher price.

Right now there's zero use of them, but profit is the main focus and functionalities come second.

The fun comes from breeding rare ones or buying them at low prices, which could be sold off for profits.

The best thing is, they are decentralized so they're yours to keep. If you have ETH, then CK's the next thing.
*
And I thought cryptos was crazy. Now we have cryptokitties!!!

Crazy.... tonight see whether I want to buy some for investment! biggrin.gif
