Well, when it comes to cryptocurrencies, I suppose being a bit paranoid is probably prudent.
Are you still sticking to your "not more than 10%" policy?

Yes, seems there's a Bitcoin Silver coming up.
Another month, another fork.
What the fork......
*
Yeah, still.

From all the pump groups, looks like the strategy is to buy and hold BTC up to segwit2x. I guess BTC will start to rise soon, or has it already started? mad.gif

Hi everyone,

I have just started in the crypto world and bought my first bitcoin.
For one to invest in altcoin eg dogecoin, lisk etc do I have to open a wallet account with them? Meaning do I have to open account for every altcoin that I want to invest in ?
So I can send my bitcoin to be converted to the altcoin ?

Noob still learning

Peace out
*
There's a lot of ways to buy altcoins using bitcoins. You can use exchanges like bittrex, poloniex, etc to do that. If you buy altcoins on these exchanges, they will be kept in your one account portfolio, no need to open many accounts.

Thanks kmarc, but are there any videos for me to study the technical part of it?  Like how to send my bitcoin to poloniex and converting them ?

Thank you in advance and have a great weekend
*
Owh... not sure about videos. It's quite simple actually. If you have an account on bittrex, you just get the receiving bitcoin address on your wallet on Bittrex, then just send the bitcoins to that address. If you are trying it for the first time, it is better to try sending a bit first, to ensure you did it correctly and did not sent it wrongly. Your bitcoins may be lost if you make a mistake.

There are some basic info on the front page including the importance of addresses and security. Do have a read. wink.gif

I haven't tried it out yet but what do you mean no support? It is already available for installation on the ledger. Probably just have to use the ledger bitcoin wallet for interface? hmm.gif

It is meant to be used with the Neon Wallet but the code is pending review from CoZ (developers of the neon wallet) since the initial code sent by guy who made this had some issues I think.
*
I see. That's weird. So far, my experience with ledger's apps is that they will roll out finished products. Oh well, will wait for the review first before I transfer my neo.

The only problem I have now is both my ledger is already full of apps. Each nano S can only take 2-3 additional apps but can take 1-2 more if I delete the bitcoin and fido app. sad.gif

That's the problem of buying so many altcoins (small amount though). Time to buy another? biggrin.gif

Wow......I just logged into MyEtherWallet after a long time (faithfully keeping my Ledger Nano S in cold storage), and guess what?
I found so many "unknown" tokens in my addresses!

Not sure how they got there, but I suspect there were some airdrops along the way over the past few weeks or months.
I have some ATM, JOT, XNN, IND, CNX, and even an extra 11 OMG tokens.
I suppose most of these are just penny tokens, so in the end I'd just have an extra couple of dollars, but it sure does feel good to get freebies...! biggrin.gif
*
Due to all the free airdrops. From the limit info above, I can calculate how much coins you have for a certain coin. tongue.gif

I'm waiting for snipcoin airdrop for AdEx holders later tonight... Have to hold at least 600 coin though : https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@helios/adex-snip-airdrop

Sadly, I don't have any AdEx tokens, so no freebies for me. sad.gif
Trying to limit my altcoin holdings......too many to keep track of.
That said, I am seriously considering going for the upcoming QASH token sale. I like the whitepaper and the project objectives.
Might just throw a couple of ETH at it and see what happens.
*
No worries, not much freebie value. wink.gif

Yeah, I'm joining QASH as it doesn't involve rushing for the tokens and putting insane amount of gas. My 2nd ICO in my cryptolife.... smile.gif

Which was the first?
As for QASH, I'm not too sure about that "doesn't involve rushing" part......
TenX raised over 100k ETH in 8 minutes......maybe it might not take Qouine too long to raise their 500k ETH.
But who knows......let's see.
*
Mobilego. Now deep red. sad.gif

For QASH ICO, it is at least better as our funds are already in their account and just need to buy QASH without the risk of failed transfer. I would expect their system to jam up on opening but hopefully can buy in when the mania abates. Oh well, let's see how it goes.

what does this mean on the cryptos ICO ETH deposit page?
"Warning: Deposits via smart contract are not supported."

i intend to send ETH from MEW

I have no idea how ETH smart contract works but sending ETH using MEW to your receiving address on qryptos is not a problem. I sent my ETH using MEW too.

Hmmm..... just thinking how far scamcoin BTC has come. From zero value to cents to RM 27,000 per BTC!!!!

Scam all the way right? Well, pity the guy who bought a pizza at 10,000 BTC last time as the value of the pizza would be 270 million now! I did previously mentioned that one day, it might be 10,000 pizza per BTC. At RM25 per pizza, it is already now 1000+ pizza per BTC....... rclxub.gif

Cannot brain this.... RM27,000 per bitcoin..... scam scam scam! mad.gif

Ayam got some BTC but really don't know how to be happy for ath, Bitcoin price spiking is kinda double edge sword that hurting enemy while stabbing own heart lol.

It kills 99% of alt coins satoshi value, ayam already swimming under deep water of satoshi losses around RM25000. Awaiting Pacific rims warriors pump alts to save ayam from such deep water lel.
*
I'm surprised altcoins didn't crash more for this upcoming fork. Hope to see altcoins recover after this last fork come mid-Nov...... Assuming there's no other wiseguy trying to fork BTC some more.

On another note, somebody airdropped datacoins into ETH addresses last night..... drool.gif

I have eth in jaxx, how to get the airdrop?
*
You don't have to do anything. For airdrops, it will be automatically sent to all addresses but it takes time. In this case, it will be sent to all ETH addresses although there is usually a minimum requirement e.g addresses with at least 0.1 ETH.

Don't fall for any scam that ask you to give your private keys to get airdropped. Giving out private keys is like giving out your house keys to thieves! They will drop by your house soon enough! wink.gif

Alts been crashing real bad. But I believe right now is the REAL TIME to buy alt coins. Problem is currently BTC is so exp and we Malaysians need to buy BTC and convert it whichever alt we aiming for.

Do u guys think its good idea to buy BTC now (even when BTC hits an all time high) and trade it to alt coins since its dipping right now? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Big dilemma
*
Nobody can tell you that. However, based on the past 2 forks, people tend to hold BTC before the next fork so that they can get free money. BTC price will usually go up slowly just before the fork. It will then drop down. The problem is, nobody knows when it will drop and by how much.

Edit : Oh ya, just in case people didn't notice, BTC is now RM28,000 per coin......

I didn't follow. Heard something about bitcoin silver but not too sure whether that's the next one.

For me, I'm holding a bit more BTC this time, converted some from my altcoins. Will jump back to altcoins after segwit2x fork.

Found another ICO gem that will probably get really hyped up in coming days. The mainstream media are hyping it, especially in the US. The pre-registration ends on 21st Nov and it will take approximately 2-3 days to get your details reviewed for KYC, so get in on it early. I don't usually promote ICOs but this one could be huge.

CYBERMILES ICO - https://cm.5miles.com

# Potential to be the next Amazon or Wallmart
# Cyber miles is a Decentralized Application that has th merged with the already established application, 5 Miles which is an existing and establish product/app.
# 5miles has already established itself as a Top 10 shopping app, with more than 12 million users and USD 3 billion in annual transaction value.
# A team that is highly experienced with marketplaces & e-commerce
# Led by a prominent figure - Its founding CEO, Dr. Lucas Lu, was previously a co-founder and CTO of Light In the Box, a company which went public on the NYSE, and prior to that, Lucas was the first GM of Alibaba’s Taobao Mobile platform, and was the GM of another Alibaba business unit.
# One of the most engaging e-commerce app in the US: Look at this
# Media hype - all over big media: NY times, FOX, ABC, WSJ, Forbes, CNBC and etc etc.
# Tokens/coin have great utility - CyberMiles Tokens (CMT) will the currency used to fuel the transactions and incentivize participants in the ecosystem
# Collaboration with Cobinhood
# Established since 2014 April by a world-class team from China and the US
# Received backing from top-tier investment firms such as SIG, IDG, Morningside, and Blue Lake (also possible Alibaba connections)

I want!!! So jelly seeing you all reap profits from ICO. I'm practically starved of ICO. Will be my 3rd ICO but I sincerely hope I don't have to rush for it and use insane amount of gas. Will join under you but please give me 100% discount ok? biggrin.gif

QASH ICO was a breeze. Bought at leisure 12 hours after open. Hope this one will be the same!

Definitely no cashing out for enjoyment......haha.
Fully committed to nurturing my little retirement nest egg.
So, it's decided then......I'm dumping all proceeds into alts, since most of them are trading cheap nowadays anyway.
ARK seems like a good bet now, at only approximately USD 2.62.

If you buy lots of ARK, don't forget to stake them to earn passive income. Don't have to keep wallet open for staking.

Just downloaded the ARK client, transferred all my ARK to my trusted old Ledger Nano S for long term hodling, and completed the delegate voting.
Actually I have no idea who to vote for, so I just voted for whoever gave the best returns.  hmm.gif
*
Yup. I just choose the one with the best return and preferably the one that covers transaction fees too. I voted for Arkpool but their payout is done only when you've accumulated at least 4 arks.
