Not wanting to sound like I’m stealing your show but I held through 2018 and got absolutely rekt in 2019... -85%.

But this is because my portfolio was mostly alts la. Though I do regret changing 3 Eth bought for $500 for them. Young and naive back then...

Nothing to pity. After I earned a bit, hand itchy and starts buying ETH. I bought 1st time 4.2k then average at 3.8k then average at 3.4k, before selling half at 3.7k++.

Personally I think the rally is a bit over but don't know why suddenly termakan the bait. Thought buy $50 just for fun since got profit but never thought I would chased it. Had I ignored it then that's just all there is to it, $50 at most. Now I already lose $50 with $50 more to go.

There were many alts built on Eth that wanted to make applications that people can actually use. Req, Gvt, etc etc. But never caught adoption that led to its fall. Lend also lost 95% value before becoming Aave. Check the charts for Vet too? What about Eth ath to its 2020 atl? Should be close to 90% right?

I mean hodl until now...

I sold 70% back in late 2019 because needed the money. That was already at 80% loss. 2 years hodl is more stressful than you’d imagine.

But then again rechecking my exact blockfolio from then I’d only be up 135% now because the alt losses really killed the profit.

I see... I hodl a stock for 5 years and still losing money. Personally I'm the kind of person who will trade actively when earn money and then sit on paper profit, bought an ugly duckling that go to Holland. Another stock that I hold for 3 years++ then suddenly up 50%, didn't sell, double down since interest sucks, now sitting on slight loss.

Usually it sucks for a while (denial) then starts to troll about it, later accept it and hope for next spring to arrive. LoL...

Honestly I think taking profit is good practice if your mind can get over the ‘I need this gamble to work out’ mindset. Because then you get susceptible to people’s mind games.

Staring back at this year’s mistakes... making me shake head why I bothered to be so greedy. Alt x9 also die die duwan sell. If I accumulated my profits over different coins I can take 5 years vacation aldy.

At first when I first started in May this year, I easily earn because 15-20% in couple of days, although it's just small amount. $10 here and there, sometimes lucky $30 or $50. Matic was up $200 at one time (from just $100 cost) but got greedy. Normally would have sold.

Bought some last week dip and although small amount, some are up between 10-40%. Didn't sell, instead dropped below my initial price, average down, and it went lower.

Kena poison a bit by hodlers and now seem to be buying buying buying but don't know how to sell.

Hodl wins the game, problem is you hodl wrong coin. Nobody should hodl altcoin honestly. I hodl btc since 2017 and never sell. I still earned quite an amount even now.

Nothing on taking profit since profit is profit but trading is dangerous. How often can u be correct?

Hodlers = investors

the thing about this is

buying at 60k and hodling still makes you a speculator because for an investor you should know how to determine the fair value of acquisition and hence stopping you to buy at 60k

but at the end of day we here to make money anyway unless 100x no stop loss boom boom boom
