Bnm just announced this? So where does this lead us?
*
kinda clickybaity title.

its just not legal tender as in not usable as payment. if any dispute or losses in dealing with crypto currencies, BNM and gmnt arent going to help.

exchanges are required to report to BNM under anti money laundering.

you are wrong. there is no other exchange which can transfer fund to Malaysia bank account.
*
u can sell via Xbit Asia which is another bitcoin exchange in Malaysia
or through Remittano or LocalBitcoin which is an escrow service.
both can be transferred into Malaysia Bank account

There are people in forum here offer buy/sell crypto. P2P dealing. If their trade list is legit and got legit review from people it's a good choice also right.
*
If you think you can trust them, sure.
The overall liquidity from Malaysian market is relatively low, hence the higher prices and service fees like Remittano. We definitely need more trustable exchanges with access to MYR deposit/withdrawal

anyone know what exchange better than binance? Hate it when they forced you to buy unwanted decimals and forcing you to sell in integers.
*
buy some BNB coin on Binance and use them to deduct your fees. 50% off and you dont have to worry about decimal.

Bittrex, Poloniex is also ok. also depends what exchange support the coins you want to buy/sell

Still managed to withdraw my btc out from luno to CIMB. I dont know about Maybank.

Not opening this thread for a week, read thru it and saw someone wrote 'bank acc freezed by bnm'. any proof regarding this statement? i cant find anything regarding this anywhere on the net. Their latest statement said nothing about banning, more on regulating etc.
*
just ppl jumping to conclusion on that
there's no proof or any official statement saying Luno's account has been frozen.

Luno is just saying they are facing degraded performance on their end for Malaysia, which has been going on for a few weeks now regarding deposits/withdraws and verification.

Digital currency transactions worth RM75 mln per month

http://www.theborneopost.com/2017/12/15/di...-mln-per-month/

QUOTE
“The information we are looking at are the number of transactions, conversion of digital currencies to fiat money, as well as digital currency to other digital currency,” he said.

He said BNM would also gather information on value of transaction, net buy and sell positions of transaction, purpose of transaction, payment method, number of customer accounts, and the outstanding value of customer accounts.

He added that the policy, once kicked-off, would require digital currency exchanges to report on a monthly basis to the central bank and failure to do so would result in a penalty of not exceeding RM1 million.

Abdul Rasheed said however, BNM has no intention to ban the usage of digital currency in Malaysia as such move would kill innovation and creativity.

Does anybody feel that the whole cryptosphere is a heavily manipulated market? Don't get me wrong, I believe in the tech but seeing such drastic pumps looks as though much of the high volume movements are triggered by a small percentage of investors. While I am "invested" in this tech and have been for quite a while, I can't help but wonder if this thread should be more appropriately located in a "gambling" sub.
Just my thoughts.

They are trading bots out there set to pump and dumps.

Is a paper wallet locked away in a safe as safe as a hardware wallet for long term hodling?
*
yes, as long as your wallet doesnt go missing.
its just when u key in the private key onto your computer to retrieve your coins, some people recommend moving everything and scrap that wallet because you never know your pc could be hacked and hackers gain access to your private keys. just people being paranoid, but can never too safe. but storage wise is about the same

For those who bought ETN, do you all still have confidence in ETN?

Honestly this bag of coins is giving me alot of mixed feelings.
I don't think there is much in it. Nothing technological new, 99% hype and marketing.
But on the hand, it's the hype and marketing that is making 6-8x. And it's only listed on 1 exchange so far. Their telegram chat group is maxed out at 30k ppl, mostly newbs. So probably still got space to grow in price.

Not a long term hodl for me, but good for trading. Haha

not to say outperform btc but should keep its value inline with rising btc. or else why hold in bnb when it climbs 1.5x while btc climb 3x , just switch over to btc for that time period
*
that why need to trade with satoshi instead of USD. if not, rather just leave in BTC vs USD, the rise is probably faster.
if u get more BTC then u get more USD in the end

imo, i dont think they will short it first.
most likely they go long on 1 hand, while buying btc on the other to pump it.
once its smtg like 30 or 40k, they will short it on futures and start dumping their btc.
that way they can manipulate the market and earn both ways.
