"Jeremiah 29:10 is not about Jerusalem being the capital city of Israel. It's misinterpretation of Bible. Daniel 12 has provided a different calculation for the symbolic 70 years. The starting date for calculation is not easy to identify but it's definitely wrong to start counting from 1948AD."

True...Jeremiah 29:10 is about Israelites coming back to the promised from captivity.

The establishment of Jerusalem happened during King David's time.

Then I think we can remove the text above so to avoid confusion?

Matthew 13:13-15 (NIV)

…13 This is why I speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’ 14 In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’


Our Lord Jesus Christ said.. the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you...but not to them in verse 11 of the same chapter. What this means is that; God promise the revelation of his word will not be something hidden that believers cannot understand. It may take time but ultimately believers will understand. This is made possible through preaching of God's word in Church or during quiet time reading as quicken or illuminated by the Holy Spirit. For the rest of the world and people who have no heart for God, the revelation will elude them.

Is it because God does not want them to understand? Of course not, Our Lord Jesus did say..the moment they do see and hear, God will oblige Himself to heal them (verse 15), so this means it really depends how much people seek and value God's Word. So what is the problem really? Scripture explains it's because of dull or hardened heart. Greek word for this is pachunó which also mean thick or stupid. In a sense, because they made a conscious decision to reject God's word (do not value of God's word), they make themselves spiritually stupid. God certainly does not mince with his word.

God's word is vital for the growth and Wholeness-salvation (not talking about eternal life) for the believer. When you have revelation...Faith comes effortlessly and when there is Faith, there is answered prayers. It is very vital, people. Study the parables in Mathew 13 to avoid the pitfalls, namely..

1. Do not understand, the devil snatch away (verse 19)
2. No Root (Verse 21)
3. Worries of life and deceitfulness of wealth. (verse 22)

No.1 can be avoided when you seek God word with all your heart, asking and praying to God to help you understand. No.2 can be avoided, by being persistent and never to give up. No.3 can be avoided by resting and trusting in God to care and provide for your life.
