3G EYE come with a comprehensive manual in English and Malay so just follow the step by step instruction on installation and setting up. I got 1 unit in stock but never setup before because my phone no 3G video call support. The lens size is very small if compare to CCTV cams. Much like a pin hole camera lens. From the photo I previously posted you guys and actually see how small is the lens. A pin hole in the middle only. So the viewing angles is small and range is quite short. Good thing is can rotate 45degree left and right. Following the instruction manual setting up shouldn't be a problem. One of the problem with this gadget is up down viewing angle very limited. Either straight front or around 20 degree upwards. Need to be place on at least 3 feet high platform in order to get a good view. The tested picture quality in office no problem. In dark places the quality degraded. Pretty blurry especially further range. I predict if use in BH the picture quality can puke blood. doh.gif

For multichannel DVR + IR cams with online viewing features one must have certain level of computing knowledge in order to set up yourself. Installation of hardware is pretty simple. IR CCTV cams run on 12v DC adapter and all come with wall mounted stands. To extend the length from control room to the place in BH which we install the cam just use 2 core wire. Those white colour with blur stripe on 1 wire. As for signal wire I would personally recommend real CCTV wire (RG59 75ohm coaxial cable) instead of cheap TV wire. Price for a roll of RG59 cable is RM70. For signal connector just get the screw in type. Just strip the front of wire a bit and screw in the connector. No soldering needed. 1 cam will need 2 BNC connectors 1 at cam and 1 at DVR. Price around RM2-3 each. Once connected power and signal you'll be able to view video on the TV.

For online viewing you'll need a modem router connected to a streamyx line with activated account. Please note that the modem router must support dynamic DNS and port forwarding. We must apply for a dynamic DNS account and hostname at www.dyndns.org . Most DVR only support hostname with dyndns.org extension so when choosing hostname choose this one. As for DVR side there should be a setting up manual to help you configure it. When purchasing DVR and router modem you can request the shop to apply for you the dynamic DNS a/c and pre-configure the system. Of course you must provide the DVR manual your activated Streamyx username and password to be configure into the router modem. If purchasing both DVR and router modem from the same shop even easier for them to pre-configure. Once configured we just plug in everything and ready to go.

yeah I really interested in swiftlets farming but investment cost too high la, as I like to divesified as well, I don't really mind as long as guarantee return. As I got the place ready.
BTW, can any sifus give some tips how to start from bottom? like a simple step by step, very general advise such as what to buy, build, prepare, place etc. just to test if the birds really come. biggrin.gif

It's just a blog lah. What's a blog? Some dude's online diary only lah. The articles posted are based on owner's self experience and point of view. It shouldn't be treated as a farming guide. Though some dude did print them out and keep like treasure. shakehead.gif It's the readers' mindset that matters. These bloggers spent hours writing the articles without getting any pay. When you see some inaccurate info straight away shoot people. What have you done when you learned something useful from the blog? Did you credit the blogger??

Like any other informations in the world all need to be analysed and filtered. Just like those pantang larang passed down by old people to the next generations. Will the new generation listen to them? No supprise there are some follow 100% e.g. newly gave birth women if wash hair will become crazy lah, kids cry too much stomach will store air lah etc. I'll show white eyes whenever my folks advice me of those so call informations.
So many unproven informations out there. Over thousand birds circling new jamban BH lah. Over thousand nests growth rate in less than a year lah. 7 feet birdroom 6 months 59 nests lah. Believe or not up to you lah all no prove no picture no video. One type of rice eaten by hundreds types of human. Got Regional King of Air Cannon lah, King of FFK and 0% online Ah Long's customer lah, tiny bean stuff hit kompang tour the kampung lah, all types of kakis also got. Wipe up eyes to see people lah. No need to quote in large red font lah. None of our business ok. Football coach not necessary need to be best player mah. From my humble point of view. Cari makan no problem but cari makan also don't treat customers as Dogania subplana or Rattus norvegicus though they may volunteered to be one. Tests and experiments are good but make sure no animal were harmed or the animals' pocket were harmed. Enaugh said.

Click on SAMGAN's blog site link he's selling farming equipment. Heat from sunlight consist of 2 elements i.e. radiant heat and conduct heat. The aluminum foil will repel radiant heat and the air inside the bubble sheet will work as insulation to block conceal conduct heat away. Air is a good heat insulation in fact over 90% of polystyrene Styrofoam is air. Works like a type of silver colour car windscreen glass shade to reduce heat.

Got a new BH converted from 3 shoplots 1 floor. Each lot 2 entrances front and back. Total 6 entrances. All 3 lots are combined internally. So is that calculated as 6 BHs to you?

How do you calculate the cost of material cost exceed the value? The package does not mention about workmanship so I assume it's not included.

Anyone saw the banner in KLIA about imposing tax on bird nest? I guess there are just too many people taking it to China by hand-carrying.
*
The banner in KLIA heard from quite a number of souces before so it should be true. Put up by PERHILITAN clowns to show power. Early this year a few cases of nests being brought out through airport was seized. Even an old lady bringing out 1 tael(両) of processed nests as gift also kena seized. Officially they're in charge of Taman Negara and cave nests. But do the clowns have the jurisdiction over house nests? It's an unclear area of the law. There was these 2 cases of 6kg and 1kg seized by them. Later on the bird nest merchant association of state preparing to fight for their rights in courst the clowns immediately dropped charges and returned the nests. (sources from Mr.L of Kedah Birdnest Merchant Association)
So do they really have the jurisdiction on house nests? What they have is on cave nests only. House nests are different story. Just like catching wild arowana is illegal but buying commercially breed arowana is no problem.

Monkeys Still Alive !!!!

It is disgusting to hear that some monkeys are actually planning to locate a place for swiftlet farming in KT.....and then asked those existing farmers to relocate to that area....

Did u smells something here.....monkeys still alive lah!!!

some jokers are trying to profit from this thing....buy a cheap land ( no need to buy...JV wt the monkeys lah then can get free land, build a swiftlet eco park and get those farmers to buy there...can share profits already mah!!! huge one too....)

niamah!!!!

Are u sure u want to wipe out the earlier investment that farmers have invested, lets calculate :

estimated 50,000 farms in malaysia :

renovation works : assume each farm spends about RM30,000 to renovate ....

Total Invested Amount : RM 1,500,000,000.00 (this is just renovation works).

Most of the farms, i would said, 80% are situated in not so crowded places, and the shoplots if not used for farming, will end up idle..vacant!!!! with no revenue!!!!!!!

If included the shops investment, this worked out to ::::::

RM 11,500,000,000.00

So, did the monkeys do this calculation before talk kok!!!!

I applauded MCA and the federal Govt that earlier, Ong ka chuan had mentioned that the govt allowed ` All shoplots to operate as Swiftlet farm!!!!! '...

So the monkeys please follow lah!!!! sudah dapat kereta bagus ....sekarang mau apa lagi!!!! Lamborgini kah!!!!!

niamah!!!

For me first I also try try and hope it can jalan and birds come come la, But ka-na-sai as after few tests and now I hardly believe it can bring good results la unless they can provide evidence like before and after, contact of owner for us to visit or verify, not just said only lor. Saying is easy wah  whistling.gif  we also can say anything possible right. That is why i agreed with you, think and get more info 1st will be better

Many rely on the help of potions while their own BH basic micro habitat not even achieved. Then later blame the potions cheat money, use liaw LPPL also etc. You cannot depend on potion to solve your problems. Unless your BH achieved the KACA-SUSU without a problem then potions may help in some ways only to make birds become permanant sooner.

Dear Seeseng,

For online view how much is the cost for streamyx line + router moderm that support dynamic DNS ? Is the system can save the view data for past one or two weeks as a back up ? DVR 16 Channel with online & remote control..... that means one moderm can support 16 ir camera ? will it affect the quality of the view ? and what is the remote control function ? Thanks in advance  notworthy.gif
*
Streamyx line cheapest deal now should be RM60 combo. Unlimited usage 364k downstream 128k upstream with lousy modem include fixed line rental. Router modem with DDNS support around RM200 or lower. Quantity of data saving depend on few factor. Size of HDD normally max 500GB some DVR like the 16 channels can use 2 HDD so max up to 1TB. Type of recording. Nobody use 24 hrs recording because HDD full pretty fast. Normally we set motion recording. Whenever the camera detects motion it will start record. Can set 5-10 seconds. Video quality determine the size of files. Like the 16 channels I'm selling have 4 quality levels(even lowest quality still acceptable to view) and multiple FPS(Frame per second) Normally I set 12fps. In a non-air cond environment running 24/7 the HDD normally "kong" very often so I use timer to on and off so the DVR can rest. With 500GB can store up to few months of motion recording. You can set to HDD full stop recording or auto overwrite the old video when full. Online view performance depend on line condition and speed. Full frame is impossible at online view. Can get 12fps consider very good. When oline view 1 screen showing all 16 cams at the same time will be laggy. But will u use up all 16 channels? You can choose any particular camera to let it view full screen. Then it will be smoother. When under IR mode it will be black & white and viewing range not over 15m. Can still see birds flying around no problem. Want quality good until can count bird feathers sorry lah.
The remote control is like a TV or VCD remote control. Easier to do set up and viewing on-site. All buttons in 1 hand.

How is the movie quality ?  Speed is fast or Slow motion ?  Can I backup the data from remote pc ??  Can I have a

Thanks.
*
Movie quality can be set. Speed depend on Streamyx line. Max around 15fps for online view. On-site view full frame and depend on the recording FPS you set. When online view you can choose to view the data in the DVR HDD. Can do backup with USB port and LAN mode when on-site. You want to buy from me? Online demo viewing can be arranged. IP cams are easier and less hassle to set up but still need some technical know how. It does not do recording by itself to do recording need to hook up to a PC and it's expensive if you're setting up more cams. Smooth or laggy all depend on your server part uploading speed and client part downloading speed. Nothing related to the product.

*
Did they show you the original copy of ISO certificate? Got the registrar's name? Note that Yenzheka Bird Nest and Yenzheka Technology S/B are different companies. To obtain ISO9001 certification just need to submit internal account audit, company records, standard level of management control etc. What these certification has to do with bird farming?? Go ahead lah. Afterwards successful do post here to help others. Obtained 2 LP chee also post here to warn others.

With current increasing number of BH it's true nobody get full house in standalone or shoplots nowadays in less than 5 years. A 70x20 3 storey may not even full house in 15 or 20 years. Then what for add the 15' to make it 35' wide? The addition if calculate with cost of RM35/sq ft the 3 storeys would cost extra 100k already. Thus this will make the return on investment period even longer. Maybe drag till next generation possibly.

QUOTE(West Wing @ Aug 26 2008, 09:38 PM)
Begging your pardon for not agreeing with you. I believe that it all depend on the area whether they are pure harvesters or breeders. If all are harvesters, then 20 years later, there will never be full house. If all are breeders, The Lord will be please and your dream will come true.

In my town, I explain and encourage them to look toward the future and we are proud to say that we have very good result. If 10 BHs in the area have 2000 nests and allow them to multiply, just add 2 and 2, you will see what will be the total birds in the area in 2 years time. It will exceed the number of new BHs in the area many fold. In a few years, many more BHs will have 2000 nests and those having 2000 nest will have 4000 nests in 2 years time. Swiftlets filled the sky and they are happy and so are we.............going to the bank.

I always explain to all my fellow BHs ranchers starting BHs, to invite all their friends and foes into this industry and they see better result with more BHs in your area. That's was 5 years ago and since then, none of those friends that I have spoken to have any regret. They all have over 3000 nest each. Only those far away from the existing BHs see lesser result. Oyes, the onl complaint are those uncooperative ranchers that volume up their sound creating complaint from residents ....all due to advice given by CON sultants that loader is better and one  KiSu type having over 3000 nests in 4 years fearing that new BHs will steal his birds. Very stupid, his bird is still in his pant...hahahaha

They must remember to allow the birds to breed as I told them that God will punish them for killing the hand(swiftlet) that feed us. Now, everyone of them are buying more houses and lands to be converted to BHs.

Above are for my believers and if you don't agree, my apologies as I spoke sincerely thru my years of experience and only want to share my little ideas on how to be a successful ranchers.

Added on August 26, 2008, 9:42 pm
Agree, very cheap and can you recommend your contractor to us as we are hit bad by our contractors here charging so high.

Don' tell your contractor that he's cheap so we may get same rate like you do.
*
It's true but your points if apply to first 1-2 generation of early birds ranchers I agree. But with current trend, current increment of BH everyday. With a BH starting number of 2000 nests of course your growth rate is secure. Started 5-6 years ago is a lot different from BH started nowadays. Back then not many competition. Any type of wood can jadi nesting plank, 0 groove also jadi. 1 whole floor 20 tweeters also jadi. Last time "chinchai" do at good area can success. Now cannot. Yesterday's story may not be applied today. The earlier you started the more benefits you get. Even so unfortunate a 2000 nests BH stop growing at all the owner still get at least 10-15kg per cycle. Generally only a handful of areas in Malaysia will have the growth rate like TG, KTN or areas with less development, less air pollution etc. Take for example a new standalone BH just start sound today. The owner's road from 0 nest to 2000 nests is a lot lot longer than early ranchers that started in the 90s. Especially for non-pioneer ranchers building new BHs around pioneer ranchers. Pioneer BH will get most of the population new and old.

Actually my point regarding aeiou228's new standalone is worth or not to spend extra over 100k for additional 15 feet each floor or 20k+ for the addtional 4feet/floor? Will the addtional space help the growth of results? If LPPL why pay more? For a standalone that size over 5000 nests still not fully occupied. Wisely budget reduce the period of return on investment. Paid off the loan faster etc.

RM34 for material+ workmanship some more include nesting planks is unbelievably cheap. Material price hike, meranti shortage etc do it fast if the price is real lah.

Bro West Wing. A discussion forum is a place to discuss and speak out anything we have in mind freely. No definite right or wrong here don't worry.

LCM technology? Anyone can tell more here? I'm just looking forward to seeing more high tech in the swiftlet farming such as 3G Eye is very good for those who don't have CCTV camera installed previously.  rclxms.gif
*
LCM stands for Lightweight Construction Methodology. It's a very low cost construction method whichever way can be used to cut down cost in construction, they're in LCM. In term of price it's definitely unbeatable. A 20'x80 2 floor with slab top can be as low as RM75K. Some more can kautim within 3 weeks time.(April08 Build location Kuantan). A more recent pricing of July RM90k for same size which include horizontal nesting planks, BRC, 2 door frame with lock, sound room, water pool etc.
Anyone interested MUST go and see with your own eyes their under construction birdhouses, completed birdhouses, sample birdhouses etc. See clearly, touch it, knock it. They're different from traditional method. If you're not experience bring some experienced sifu there. Then think thrice before you decide whether or not to use this method. Personally I'm been there done that lah. Anyone want details can PM me.

Only got Wood & LCM? Or there are more?
*
Normal traditional method depend on location, material price, workers salary and how good your relation with the contractor lah. Average today you'll need RM35-RM45 per square feet. So for a 20x80 double storey without slab top only atap top take RM40/sq ft will be RM40 X 1600 X 2 = RM128000 . No plank, no doors, no pool.......

The RM35-RM40 here was 6 months ago. Now should be higher. Recently just heard of a chinese own agriculture land slightly less than 1 acre selling for RM200K that is crazy some more the area population so so only.
