Just realized most of Sunway Uni's courses all 3 years program.
If can say onpar with Xiamen.

Xiamen all courses mostly 4 years programs, but didn't state about resource fees tho....

UM - RM 90k for Engineering 4 years = RM ~22.4k / year - (Direct Admission Program for all Certificates)

Taylors - RM ~156k for Engineering 4 years = RM ~39k/ year
Herriot-Watt - RM ~129k for Engineering 3 years = RM ~43k/ year
Nottingham - RM ~140k for Engineering 3 years = RM ~47k/ year
Southampton - RM ~140k for Engineering 3 years = RM ~47k/ year

Just to correct some misconceptions from other posts in this thread:
1. Lecturing staff in XMU is 80% Malaysian, 20% from the parent campus. However, this doesn't mean the 20% is Chinese - quite a few ang mohs etc. It's part of their aspirations to be an international campus.
2. Facilities are top notch (in comparison to other private universities in Malaysia, local universities still win hands down).
3. First batch of students included a large group of sponsored students from their China campus to provide competition to the locals who are signing up. Many of these students are the cream of the crop in their program, making the environment in XMU fairly competitive.
4. Language of instruction in all courses is English.
5. They have an active research program - lecturers are given a choice of either a research or teaching track with sufficient funding to pursue their interests.

Anyone heard of this uni? I first time hear liao.....any comments?

heard it before, friends are studying there. A lots of rich Chinaman studying there. Lambos and Ferraris driven by students, NOT the lecturers. Also, my friends claim that the entire university looks abit like Anime school. They have gyms, Olympic sized (not sure) pool and lecturers straight from China. All lectures are taught in English even though some of the lecturers have abit broken english. To my knowledge, it's still under construction and there's a clock tower under construction that can be seen across campus.

I don't know how many universities there are in Ivy league.. I know there's Oxbridge in UK..

But I reckon that Xiamen can be said to be almost on the same par as the top two in China, Qinghua and Beijing universities. No idea when these two are expanding their influence overseas though.

I read somewhere that the menu in their cafe are in Chinese and the workers also came straight from PRC.

Already operating. Phase 1 completed now phase 2.

If im not mistaken can accommodate 33k students when it is completed. A lot of projects nearby the university. As you can see Serenia by Sime Darby, Sunsuria the master builder for Xiamen. Now Matrix Concept also coming in.

Got a factory outlet carrying luxury brand coming also. Horizon Village outlet. Dubbed as one of the catalyst for Jsck Ma ecommercial hub logistic something or whatnot.
