eh gais, mau tanya

my old AL1130CV charger for 12v/10.8v battery (year 2009) is it compatible with 2.0ah 12v batteries?
*
yes it's compatible. maybe takes a bit longer to charge till full.
i have the same charger bought during 10.8v time before they brand it as 12v.

QUOTE(lucifah @ Sep 11 2017, 11:28 AM)
heck, u cant even fit an arm in that tight space. hahaha

multi cutter is shit. i run down 2 expensive blades (rm60 each) and not even half of the bolt thread is cut. cry.gif

a sabre saw will be too big to fit. if i use a hack saw blade, it will take me 6 hours

the last job i had was hack and hack and brutal hack to shear off that bolt. it took me 4 hours just to remove that 1 last damn bolt.

this is the damage to my arm. i have to cut 2 16mm box wrench to try to unbolt the nut, which takes about 1 turn / every 30 mins. LoL

luckily the bosch 18v grinder is sort of nearly waterproof. quite a lot of water seeped into the vents (i was trying to detach a water cooling coil) and luckily the motor did not stop working
*
oi wear some sleeves ler.
gonna be hot and sweaty and uncomfortable but beats having cut marks.

straight buy the mini grinder ler. at least something to help in tight spaces.
or bring a bolt to a shop that has demo set and try it there see if it has enough power. bring your own 2a batt full charged.

I have a 12 inch makita bandsaw. Very useful for making cuts that my table saw can't do, quiet and less dust too.

What you plan to do with the bandsaw? The handheld bandsaw you show is suitable to cut pipes on site.
If you plan to cut curves on wood, the handheld bandsaw's throat is too small and limit to what you can do on the wood.

If you have space concern the get a jigsaw or Worx EX572 flip jigsaw thing. Don't get too high cut accuracy expectation on the worx ya...
Btw a 9 inch bandsaw does not take up that much horizontal space.

[attachmentid=9135326]

*many spelling correction required*
*
to cut curve into metal pieces. that mostly.
i already have a few jigsaws. cutting round metal pipes to join perfectly to another pipe gonna be hard using jigsaw or sabre saw or grinder.

maybe this jet is a better option.

I dunno bandsaw can cut metal. Maybe using special blade?
There are many small size bandsaw available.
Jet is a more reputable brand in Malaysia. I have a jet scroll saw.

If you have access taobao, you have even more options.
*
Using metal blade. I think it's similar to the small teeth blade that we use in metal hacksaw.

I can't read and write chinese. Does band saw at taobao a lot cheaper?

Not really a lot cheaper if you include sea shipping to Malaysia, but you get more selection with better spec.
Example:
Quick release tension level
cast iron table
bigger motor
bearing guide instead of block guide.

Here I show you some example
1) Jet JWBS-9 RM880
9 inch, 350w, block guide, no quick tension release (I think, can't find pic of the back of the bandsaw), 17kg

2) NingGan 9 inch band saw (many cheap china made bandsaw that are sold here are same design as this one)
9 inch, 350W, block guide, quick tension release, 21kg
https://world.taobao.com/item/549930650937.....41f58d4cyWnybG
[attachmentid=9136702]

3) nototec 9 inch bandsaw  (I rate this higher than ninggan due to manufacturer reputation)
9 inch, 350W, block guide, quick tension release, 21kg
https://world.taobao.com/item/21046619810.h...ene=taobao_shop
[attachmentid=9136703]

4) Hisimen 10 inch bandsaw (they dont have 9 inch, USA Grizzly's OEM, higher grade than nototec)
10 inch, 550w, bearing guide, quick tension release, cast iron work table, 34kg
https://world.taobao.com/item/528008901719.....2f669dfbdBeRjv
[attachmentid=9136722]
*
Wah that hisimen looks really nice. And not a whole lot bigger.
I see picture of cimbclicks and 4px and skynet in there.

how much is shipping can you check?
And if should got damaged in shipment, can we return or claim for damage from taobao?
I've never ordered anything from taobao before. sweat.gif

Aiyo don't say toy grade ler.
Its small because I don't need a big band saw. Not gonna waste the garage space. Not until I erect a metal workshop beside the house brows.gif

using lazada sea delivery
Product + delivery to warehouse is RM932,
from warehouse to Malaysia shipping estimate RM180.

Never have a broken item yet. Usually big item I will tell them to reinforce with wood crate, extra charges &  heavier tho.
Using taobao's delivery agent(lazada) sure can claim damage, but how? I dunno.
*
If got lazada service I think not gonna be a problem. Their customer service very good. If they're the forwarder and item damaged they don't wanna cover can escalate to kpdnkk and tribunal.

Can select lazada agent inside taobao order page? I search lazada doesn't gave this band saw listed.

I think both also can be taken out. Difference is brushes will have some sparks when running sometimes. Brushless produce 0 spark.

Thanks anyway, probably I'll just go for normal brushes one. More than 1.5k for a impact driver is kinda waste, since you can't drill wall with it. I can get another hammering cord drill with that amount of money.
*
Impact driver & impact drill where got RM1.5k one?
You can get one for less than rm500.

Hi sifu-sifu, been going through this thread for the past couple of days. Just starting out with home woodworking. Need your advice on my next purchase. I have a bosch 12v drill and I want to purchase a saw next. Am looking at the 12v jigsaw GST-12v and the GKS-12v circular saw. Which on should i get first considering I'll be doing most of my woodworking things right in front of my front door since I live in an apartment. Prior to this I have been using handtools. I'm considering a cordless one cause I can bring it down to the yard at the back of the apartment to do some cutting where there are no power supply access. I'll be cutting mostly salvaged pallet boards and beams.
*
The gst12v jigsaw seriously underpowered. Skip it and buy a corded jigsaw. Or get the 18v model but that is close to rm1k or more than 1k cant remember.

Dont have the gks12v so can't comment. But I have the jigsaw.

but i'm not exactly fond of the entire 18v system.
too big. too heavy. too cumbersome to carry around at the belt.

so i bought this to compensate. i mean compliment.
user posted image

the brushless system really works.
my old 1.3a battery lasts really really long in this EC model.
much lighter weight. and much easier to carry around attached to the waist.
*
QUOTE(SheepGeeks @ Sep 23 2017, 02:58 PM)
Brushless motor mah..
*
Refer above.
I didn't pay RM1.5k for it.

I think prices gone up a bit it's now selling for rm700-ish?
I bought mine for about rm500. 529 or 550 can't remember. Brushless motor.

It doesn't justify to get that less power cordless tools for 1.5k.

My makita set that previous pic and add another 12V makita circular saw is only RM800.
*
Wah really ah?
3 item drill+driver+circular saw+battery+charger only rm800?
Where did you buy it from?

So rotary hammer drill can also be used to drill in screws and remove from walls right? Or do I need a separate impact drill for this?
*
using a rotary hammer for screwing work gonna take toll on your arms.
it's really heavy. unwieldy for screwing purpose.

but prolly gonna be ok if it's only 1-2 screws

Handy little thing. Quite "torquey" for it's size. Almost slipped from my hand when I first tried it. Tried driving a 1-inch screw into a block of pine and managed to drive it in at the torque setting no. 3

Will try using it in my next woodworking project alongside my drill to drill pilot hole and the GO to drive screws.

All in all very satisfied with product (most of it is because of the 2-unit deal on shopee  biggrin.gif )
*
Can buy those drill bits with hex end. And carry a single GO for pilot hole and screwdriving. brows.gif

i'm hooked on welding.
so much easier compared to woodworking. like 1000x easier.
so thinking of buying a smaller unit that i can carry around and lift and weld on a ladder. the previous unit is 76kg behemoth.

thinking of getting these multiprocess welders that can also do TIG so i can do really really thin materials.
shortlisted these models:
user posted image
austcorp mig2000s

user posted image
masw mig201s

any comment before i place order?

user posted image
also found this Cigweld Transmig 175i clearing stock. very high quality construction. much better than above models, but made in australia so support and parts and repair might be a problem later.

must be expensive. and prolly not selling locally with non-existent local support tongue.gif
